It wouldnt take a whole lot to elevate the food into a place worth spending $110 for two for dinner.

The Dilbert's environment is no frills so don't expect much from its minimalist (and sometimes perplexing) wall art. On the diner's far back side, a wall concealing the kitchen is a simple (albeit huge) chalkboard displaying specials of the day. Thank you, Dilbert, whoever you are or were!

With seating indoor and outside, there is ample room to spread out and stay a while. These are qualities of a "gathering place" that set it aside from an average restaurant. The staff were friendly albeit laid back. Their speed of work took second place to friendliness. The menu has great looking options for entrees and snacks for all times of day. Prices are fair. We found the portion size of our skillet to be filling but on the small size compared to other places. Our veggie skillet was well cooked, had lots of veggies and was delicious. Coffee was fresh and tasty. We also had a pecan roll. Staff heated it and it was perfect. We plan to make this cafe our morning stop for the week. Bacon was perfectly cooked. Skillet: smaller portion than I was expecting, could've benefited from a sauce, but the ham + bacon + sausage was a lil crispy which I enjoyed. Thought the price was steep for the portion tho, maybe recommend serving with toast to make it fit the price better. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, would come back if in the area again.

Phenomenal burgers, O-rings, tots, and sweet potato fries. The Northwood's DRAFT (not fountain) root beer is a perfect pairing with their burgers. Slabtown's menu of specialty burgers is enormous and the BYO options include different protein choices and excellent GF buns. I've tried many of their burgers, but have to say that the Slabby Patty on a pretzel bun and the Pungi's Pepper Patty really stood out as a couple of my favorites. For a really sinful (and unhealthy) treat, ask for the gravy tots. Oh brother...insanely good but definitely a guilty pleasure. We've sent tons of our friends and family here, and I can tell you that every one of them has thanked us for the recommendation and raved about their burgers. So what are you waiting for?
