Our second time dining at The Burrow TC. Last time was 2 years ago when we were in TC with friends. I have to say, I really like the service here. Friendly, attentive, professional and knowledgeable. Consistently! The cocktail list is small but good, and my cucumber tequila drink was fantastic. The second one was just as good. The ahi tuna tacos disappeared almost before I could get a picture lol. My wife had the ahi tuna entree with the crispy rice, which she loved. I had the lobster fra diavlo which also was quite tasty. I was a little surprised it wasn't more crowded on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. It's a very comfortable place, but can be a bit noisy when the restaurant and bar are full. The brunch menu looks good too, one day we will give brunch a try. read more

The cocktails were great and healthy pours and the food was excellent, cooked to perfect temperature and plenty for our group to share. We enjoyed the Wagyu beef, Halibut, bread service, French onion dip and the malt fries. The venue had a great indoor space with a partially open kitchen concept. Saturday brunching with friends, and this hit the spot! We asked for outdoor seating and were able to enjoy the early June weather in TC. Service was friendly and prompt. We tried a variety of dishes and they all flavors came out right on the money. They sport both, alcoholic and NA cocktails, and both are prepared with expertise. Unfortunately, I had to send back my Bloody Mary for being too salty, but that was replaced quickly, no questions asked. We had delicious food after being disappointed that all of the winery's were closed on Tuesdays for Winter. This was an impromptu visit but it was great. TC is very quiet during Spring Break which is nice without too much traffic or crowds. Haven't been in the summer in awhile but this restaurant is right off the water and would be an amazing view in the summer months. Service was good overall would come again. read more

We were fortunate enough to eat at The Burrow for a private event, and everything was phenomenal. The pancakes, the hash browns, the huevos rancheros, the eggs benedict, and particularly the bacon. This place is so cute! Very good vibes and friendly staff. Stopped here for brunch before heading out after spending the weekend in TC. We were sat right away around 10a and the menu has great variety. We got the avocado toast which has burrata, Belgian waffles, a side of bacon and a side of sausage. The portions were perfect, especially bc we were traveling (we don't like to take leftovers if we can help it). Loved this spot for brunch. Across the road from Traverse Bay and has its own parking lot. Place is fresh and clean, brightly colored and light. Perfect ambiance for brunch. We bellied up to the bar and the tender was full of fresh energy. Very personable and made us feel excited to be there. We started with bloody Mary's and they were great! Also had a few on tap beers and a really good, not overly stuffed eggs and bacon breakfast. Perfect sized serving. Whole place just has a very good vibe and it starts your day off in a positive way. Would highly recommend this spot as it seems they have really set it up in one of the most perfect ways. My only gripe is the parking lot is a bit small, can be tough to park larger vehicles at prime time. read more

The Ahi Tuna was perfection!!!! The Fish N Chips was close to that by just have a bit to much seasoning on the Chips, which over powered the fries. The kitchen was very fast on a busy night, busy time, and also there was a private event. The service was good even while sitting at the bar. The ambiance is fine with clean lines. First of all, it took quite a bit of time to be greeted at our table. I ordered the Fish & Chips which was the worst meal I've had. The breading was extremely greasy and thick like a hush-puppy breading. I had to peel off what I could only to find very minimal amounts of fish. Had the server come over after getting our meals I would have told her how bad it was. Even when she picked up the plates she did not ask how everything was. I finished my water mid-meal and was never offered a refill since our server did not come by at any time during our meal. I won't come back here again. read more

My husband and I are visiting from out of town came for dinner on our first night. I debated giving a 3 or 4 but based on food it's a 3. The food was just average. We got: -crab cake, slightly over-breaded and a little dry -mussels, pretty good! -steak frites, steak was good, fries were fine -wedge salad with steak, steak was wildly overcooked and barely edible (which is weird because the steak in the other dish was cooked perfectly), salad was fine just a normal wedge -partly cloudy NA cocktail, good! -lemonade, just okay The service was great, the restaurant was busy and the vibes were good which is why I debated giving a 4. Just finished a great lunch. Highly recommend this place. Had a French dip sandwich with a phenomenal au jus. It came with a cute little salad with some pickled carrots on it (or fries). The Burrow is one of the premier brunch spots in TC and for good reason. The ambience is great for a weekend brunch and the service was friendly. The coffee was also solid, but the orange juice tasted like it came from a Minute Maid carton which was disappointing, considering it was $5 for a small glass. The Crab Cake benny was great. The eggs were perfectly poached, the sauces were tasty, the english Muffin was crispy, and the Crab cake had a good amount of crab in it. Went to The Burrow over the weekend for dinner and it was pretty disappointing. Service was ok and the whole experience felt rushed. The beet salad was good but my pasta dish did not come out very hot and came out very quickly which is odd to me, like too fast for it to be cooked properly and it was still not even hot. There are plenty of other places in the area with great service and better food...I don't plan on making an effort to return in the future unfortunately. read more

My husband and I came for brunch on Sunday and have never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant. We had a reservation for the dining room and were asked to wait when we arrived, which was fine. However, two walk-ins who arrived after us without a reservation were seated in the dining room immediately. After checking back in with the hostess and offering to sit anywhere, we were seated at a high-top. Once seated, we were essentially ignored. We were not acknowledged by any server for at least 25 minutes. Staff either walked right past us or stopped at nearby tables and then immediately turned away before reaching ours. We were unable to get anyone's attention. We understand brunch can be busy, but the restaurant wasn't completely full and we've never experienced such a blatant lack of basic service before. We couldn't even get water until I finally flagged down someone bussing tables, who brought us water and said our server would be right over. No server ever came. Instead, the hostess oddly came to take our order, so we ordered everything at once given the delay. Meanwhile, tables seated after us were warmly greeted by servers and already receiving their drinks or refills, while we never received ours. The woman who appeared to be our server eventually came by only to refill our water. She did so without greeting us and avoided eye contact, which felt very odd. After waiting longer with no drinks or service, we decided to leave. I was the only minority in the restaurant, and the entire experience felt dismissive, unwelcoming, and cold. I don't make that observation lightly, but it certainly contributed to how uncomfortable the situation felt. I would not recommend coming here. read more

My wife and I both got the huevos rancheros and me oh my it might be the best in the area! I am on the fence about how I feel about Burrow. The resting beautiful and I felt a bit under dressed even though it was brunch. We were seated at a two top by the windows. Our server was not the friendliest. She seemed mad that we didn't order alcohol. Unfortunately they do not mark their menu with gluten free options and judging by our servers response, they don't seem to educate their waitstaff either. After a few trips to the kitchen our server was able to give me a few options. I ordered the open face omelet, it was quite good. Our server never checked on us and we waited awhile for our check. Absolutely amazing food for both adults and families. We had the Nashville hot chicken, wedge salad with salmon, falafel sandwich with house salad, kids fish & chips and kids quesadilla. Everything was delicious and honestly the kids fish & chips was better than any I've had elsewhere. Good lunch here with spouse on our Michigan beach run, we dined inside because it was chilly in August. Sat at a high top in the bar area with a water view over the buildings across the street. No cocktails in our order, server seemed disappointed. One large Caesar salad and one Waldorf wedge salad both with chicken. The Caesar was solid, chicken was good, dressing seemed homemade. The Waldorf is an interesting stacked creation with whole lettuce leaves and fruit nuts and celery layered in between. It was difficult to eat in a bowl but I eventually just cut it all up into bite sized pieces and ate it that way. We were in and out in about thirty minutes, so they must be used to cranking out fast business lunches. Salads were $20 each, so on the high end for pricing. I would try it for dinner, next trip! Steak frites were the best. Steak was fine perfectly and was tender and juicy. Fries were done well and were nice and crispy. We had lots of aps and each one was better than the next. Brussel sprouts were spicy and tender, the raclette cheese and onions were delicious, the bread was savory and tasty, crab cakes were excellent and although I didn't have the rice balls, I heard they were good. Everything on the menu looked tasty. They said they change the menu every three months or so. We had the French Dip and the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. The French Dip Au jus had some good flavor, and the chicken sandwich came with a cute little bowl of blue cheese and we could put on as many chunks as we wanted! Fries were skinny with a cute little side bottle of catchup. Everything was good. They even have croutons that were a level up on my side salad. The food was great! They give you a cute ketchup bottle to go with the meal. The hash brown is gaped like a cube and a bit salty but still good overall.
