Loved this spot for brunch. Across the road from Traverse Bay and has its own parking lot. Place is fresh and clean, brightly colored and light. Perfect ambiance for brunch. We bellied up to the bar and the tender was full of fresh energy. Very personable and made us feel excited to be there. We started with bloody Mary's and they were great! Also had a few on tap beers and a really good, not overly stuffed eggs and bacon breakfast. Perfect sized serving. Whole place just has a very good vibe and it starts your day off in a positive way. Would highly recommend this spot as it seems they have really set it up in one of the most perfect ways. My only gripe is the parking lot is a bit small, can be tough to park larger vehicles at prime time. read more

My husband and I are visiting from out of town came for dinner on our first night. I debated giving a 3 or 4 but based on food it's a 3. The food was just average. We got: -crab cake, slightly over-breaded and a little dry -mussels, pretty good! -steak frites, steak was good, fries were fine -wedge salad with steak, steak was wildly overcooked and barely edible (which is weird because the steak in the other dish was cooked perfectly), salad was fine just a normal wedge -partly cloudy NA cocktail, good! -lemonade, just okay The service was great, the restaurant was busy and the vibes were good which is why I debated giving a 4. It seems like a lot of locals like this place so it feels like it might be a popular spot and have quality food compared to other restaurants in TC. read more

We had delicious food after being disappointed that all of the winery's were closed on Tuesdays for Winter. This was an impromptu visit but it was great. TC is very quiet during Spring Break which is nice without too much traffic or crowds. Haven't been in the summer in awhile but this restaurant is right off the water and would be an amazing view in the summer months. Service was good overall would come again. read more

Went to The Burrow over the weekend for dinner and it was pretty disappointing. Service was ok and the whole experience felt rushed. The beet salad was good but my pasta dish did not come out very hot and came out very quickly which is odd to me, like too fast for it to be cooked properly and it was still not even hot. There are plenty of other places in the area with great service and better food...I don't plan on making an effort to return in the future unfortunately. read more

We were fortunate enough to eat at The Burrow for a private event, and everything was phenomenal. The pancakes, the hash browns, the huevos rancheros, the eggs benedict, and particularly the bacon. My husband and I came for brunch on Sunday and have never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant. We had a reservation for the dining room and were asked to wait when we arrived, which was fine. However, two walk-ins who arrived after us without a reservation were seated in the dining room immediately. After checking back in with the hostess and offering to sit anywhere, we were seated at a high-top. Once seated, we were essentially ignored. We were not acknowledged by any server for at least 25 minutes. Staff either walked right past us or stopped at nearby tables and then immediately turned away before reaching ours. We were unable to get anyone's attention. We understand brunch can be busy, but the restaurant wasn't completely full and we've never experienced such a blatant lack of basic service before. We couldn't even get water until I finally flagged down someone bussing tables, who brought us water and said our server would be right over. No server ever came. Instead, the hostess oddly came to take our order, so we ordered everything at once given the delay. Meanwhile, tables seated after us were warmly greeted by servers and already receiving their drinks or refills, while we never received ours. The woman who appeared to be our server eventually came by only to refill our water. She did so without greeting us and avoided eye contact, which felt very odd. After waiting longer with no drinks or service, we decided to leave. I was the only minority in the restaurant, and the entire experience felt dismissive, unwelcoming, and cold. I don't make that observation lightly, but it certainly contributed to how uncomfortable the situation felt. I would not recommend coming here. read more

The Burrow is one of the premier brunch spots in TC and for good reason. The ambience is great for a weekend brunch and the service was friendly. The coffee was also solid, but the orange juice tasted like it came from a Minute Maid carton which was disappointing, considering it was $5 for a small glass. The Crab Cake benny was great. The eggs were perfectly poached, the sauces were tasty, the english Muffin was crispy, and the Crab cake had a good amount of crab in it. Delicious. Just all around delicious. The hash brown was the most delicious, and creative I've ever had. Perfectly cooked- crisp outside, perfectly seasoned. The steak was cooked perfect, and was complimented well by my over medium egg. I also highly suggest the blood orange mimosas- and expresso martinis, both superb. I am on the fence about how I feel about Burrow. The resting beautiful and I felt a bit under dressed even though it was brunch. We were seated at a two top by the windows. Our server was not the friendliest. She seemed mad that we didn't order alcohol. Unfortunately they do not mark their menu with gluten free options and judging by our servers response, they don't seem to educate their waitstaff either. After a few trips to the kitchen our server was able to give me a few options. I ordered the open face omelet, it was quite good. Our server never checked on us and we waited awhile for our check. Absolutely amazing food for both adults and families. We had the Nashville hot chicken, wedge salad with salmon, falafel sandwich with house salad, kids fish & chips and kids quesadilla. Everything was delicious and honestly the kids fish & chips was better than any I've had elsewhere. Steak frites were the best. Steak was fine perfectly and was tender and juicy. Fries were done well and were nice and crispy. We had lots of aps and each one was better than the next. Brussel sprouts were spicy and tender, the raclette cheese and onions were delicious, the bread was savory and tasty, crab cakes were excellent and although I didn't have the rice balls, I heard they were good. Good lunch here with spouse on our Michigan beach run, we dined inside because it was chilly in August. Sat at a high top in the bar area with a water view over the buildings across the street. No cocktails in our order, server seemed disappointed. One large Caesar salad and one Waldorf wedge salad both with chicken. The Caesar was solid, chicken was good, dressing seemed homemade. The Waldorf is an interesting stacked creation with whole lettuce leaves and fruit nuts and celery layered in between. It was difficult to eat in a bowl but I eventually just cut it all up into bite sized pieces and ate it that way. We were in and out in about thirty minutes, so they must be used to cranking out fast business lunches. Salads were $20 each, so on the high end for pricing. I would try it for dinner, next trip! Everything on the menu looked tasty. They said they change the menu every three months or so. We had the French Dip and the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. The French Dip Au jus had some good flavor, and the chicken sandwich came with a cute little bowl of blue cheese and we could put on as many chunks as we wanted! Fries were skinny with a cute little side bottle of catchup. Everything was good. They even have croutons that were a level up on my side salad. The food was great! They give you a cute ketchup bottle to go with the meal. The hash brown is gaped like a cube and a bit salty but still good overall. Our waitress was friendly and frequently stopped by to check on us. It's a classic brunch spot with a good amount of seats. Just make sure to reserve a spot ahead of time. read more

The biggest disappointment was the coffee. My husband and I both appreciate a good cup of coffee with our breakfast, nothing fancy but just a good cup! This coffee was some of the worst I've ever had, for sure worse than any gas station coffee I've come across. It was highly acidic but also weak and tasted like it had been burning on a hot plate for hours. the food was decent but nothing was great. we ordered the chicken wraps for an appetizer and i wasn't sure if i was eating chicken because it was so over flavored. my main dish was the ahi tuna and it was on a huge piece of crispy rice. it was okay, not bad, not great. husband ordered the french dip and it was decent. my aunt and uncle shared fish and chips and had soup. again, very mediocre. the manager was not pleasant. i admit it was my fault because i messed up our reservation and she was accommodating, but told me my party needed to leave at 5:30pm. when we drove there and got there at 4:34 for our 4:30 reservation, she was standing outside basically looking at us like we were the ugly stepchildren that came. she told us the waiter knows to rush you guys out, which just made the whole experience uneasy. at 5:30 pm, she comes over and says "you need to leave, the guests are here." it was just really awkward and off putting. she could've easily said "hey, hope everything was good. the other party arrived, so we will need the table soon." it was just so rude of her. waiters were fine. food was decent, nothing special. manager was rude. read more

After visiting their sister restaurant (the flying noodle) for a second time; I was optimistic to try The Burrow. Located about 5-8 minutes from downtown TC, I would say this place has equal potential to TFN circa 2022. The aesthetic has been updated to a brighter, more minimalistic, California chic. The optimal feature, a 360* center bar, lots of windows, and a cute outdoor patio. This is a welcomed change from the darker Tuscan vibe of the bistro that preceded The Burrow. The staff was friendly and attentive, but I do have some notes on the food. I began with the caprese salad. Caprese is a staple for me, but I'm disheartened to say this one was absolutely swimming in balsamic. I normally love a good balsamic reduction but the acidity this resulted in was difficult on the palate. Presentation was lovely, but the taste just was not balanced enough for me. The cacio e pepe made with TFN's fresh pasta was a slight improvement. But I tasted a strong, sharp onion flavor that deterred from the classic comfort food. With a simple pasta dish my mantra is "don't mess with a classic". The Burrow might benefit by simplifying this dish. The key lime pie was a bright and sweet ending to my meal, and gained another star for the burrow. Again a 10/10 presentation. I like the liquidity of what I would almost describe as key lime purée, along with fresh whipped cream. In summary, I think the foodie in me sees so much potential here. However, the food itself needs a little bit of adjustment to earn a second visit. read more

We were in town for the cherry festival and I was on the hunt for some good food and boy did I hit the jackpot! First off, this place is so cute! The interior decor was beautiful and they have a cute little outdoor patio which we ate at. Our server was super attentive and friendly. They have something on the menu for everything which I love because you never know what your group is in the mood for. The blackened fish sandwich was so flavorful and delicious and the croutons on the Caesar salad really made it an awesome salad. Drinks were yummy too but I guess I drank it before I could snag a photo! Overall, if you're in traverse city, definitely make some time to visit this place for lunch/dinner! read more

Cute decor inside but a little small, it was rather busy being lunch time but they were able to seat us outside with out a wait. Our server was so sweet and checked on us several times.
