For the last few years my family and I have been staying in the same rental cottage in off Lake Leelanau for a week in the summer and Streetside Grille has become one of our go-tos for carryout for the whole family to enjoy back at the house. First off, it's conveniently located to where we are. Secondly, their menu, though standard American pub food has more than a few options to choose from, which is great when you're trying to accommodate a larger party. They've got a few different flatbreads, several burger options (including a veggie burger), and sandwiches like BLTs, lobster rolls, French dip, etc. There are also a few salad options and of course entrees like fish and chips, mac and cheese (also available with lobster or bang bang shrimp), and several other options. My usual so far is the M-22 burger (topped with cheddar, bacon, an over easy egg, and LTO) with a side fries. Definitely not the most healthy thing on the menu but definitely quite good! BTW, on their small plates menu they have a meatloaf cupcakes which I have always wanted to try but never got around to because no one else would split them with me! SG is a chill lil local joint with cool laidback vibes, great service, and excellent food... Get the meatloaf cupcakes (house special), Parmesan whitefish, and lobster mac, as you won't be disappointed. The one drawback is SG's pricey ($105 for dinner w/ beers). read more

The food here is really good and cooked perfectly. The main thing that got on my nerves is that it was a long wait. Great brunch - the best I've had in the area - Farmers Omelette was fantastic and hash browns were perfectly cooked.

Had a great time at this friendly, neighborhood bar and grille. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table. The clam chowder was excellent and the BLT and Smashburgers were delicious. Our server was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Lots of menu options to choose from. Highly recommend! read more

This place has become one of my favorite restaurants in Sutton's Bay because of their delicious food, specifically their blackened whitefish! I love it on their caesar salad or on their very tasty thai crunch salad! I've been here a few times and their food and service is always good. On this last visit the waitress and I knew why the other looked familiar/finally put it together, as she used to work at a place downstate, in Royal Oak, MI, where I frequent. What a small world! It's cute inside as well and after Covid is under control, I'd like to belly up to their bar! read more

I come here for the lobster rolls and bisque!!! One of my favorite versions. It's cold and you can add butter to it and it's absolutely perfect IMO. Lobster bisque is done right too! Wait staff are friendly and helpful. We even had a great chat about hot sauce while we were in. Love this place and will keep coming back. Very chill vibe and good food. read more

Gave this place five stars because it was 100% satisfaction. Really excellent deluxe pizza made with quality ingredients and a fresh crispy crust. Did not disappoint and will in fact order again. Service was overwhelmed and unpleasant. Walked in to see if there were seats available at the bar as I had overheard there was a wait. One of the waitresses almost clotheslined me saying CAN I HELP YA HUN ya know there is a line and a wait. I said I'm aware but I was Interested in sitting at the bar. WELL GET IN LINE!! Is the bar not first come first serve?? NO... THOSE TABLES HAVE A WAIT. Umm...I'm asking about the bar stools... oh... NO IF U CAN FIND ONE... GO AHEAD. Well it never improved... the bartender said if you plan to eat expect to wait a long time we have a LOTS of orders. Umm it's a holiday weekend and you have available tables... it's really not that hard. Waited 25 minutes for her to acknowledge us again to order. So the service is a nightmare 1star. What a great find this place was! We were looking for a quick lunch before heading up the Leelanau Peninsula for some wine tasting. So glad we picked Streetside Grille! Everything was AMAZING! My husband and I both had a cup of Beef Barley soup. He had the French Dip Slider with Au Jus. I had the Beach Bread with their home made ranch. So delicious. Took the rest of my bread with me as I got full. Just as good in the car hours later. Waitress was super friendly. We will definitely come back here next time we roll through town. Thanks! read more

Got the white fish it was not cooked, basically raw. I've had whitefish b4 and never had a problem. The cook said it was the cut which is bull. All the other restaurants know how to cook it just fine so it's not raw. I asked to have it cooked longer and it looked like they just warmed it in a microwave. It wasn't cooked anymore. They only gave me half off so basically paid $14 for mash potatoes awesome. Horrible place unless you want French fries. read more

Traveling with good friends from a local lake house, we chose this location for a casual Friday dinner. A short wait at 7:30p, we bellied up to the bar for a beverage, and were promptly seated within a few minutes. The ambience was quaint, friendly and service with a smile. We started with a Bang Bang shrimp appetizer, 6 plump shrimp fried golden and served on a bed of greens with a light creamy remoulade sauce, not as spicy as I might've anticipated, but a nice starter. Asked our server for main course recommendations, so we selected the pork belly tacos and the M-22 burger, which were both delicious, but not the healthiest. The pork was tender and flavorful, served in white corn soft tacos, 3 tacos were filling! The M-22 also had braised pork belly atop of an Angus burger, cheddar and fried egg - plenty of protein on a grilled bun along with lettuce, onion and tomato, wow! I did ask for the burger cooked medium and it was browned through, however still very good. And unfortunately we were so full we didn't have room for dessert, but that's a reason to go back and try Streetside again! Plenty of other menu options to select like meatloaf sliders (with mashed potato), whitefish and other fresh fish/seafood plus lots of local craft brews. Very slow service. Did I mention that the service is very slow? Still waiting for the food after waiting 20 minutes for a server and another 25 to get the first drinks. Finally got the food (burger and fries and a whitefish sandwich with fries) after another 30 minutes. Food was Ok. Immediately asked for the check and got it in 5 minutes. Then it took the server another 20 minutes to process the transaction and get my credit card back. Torturously SLOW! read more

WISH I COULD PUT 0 STARS!!! Where do I begin? Every time I visit Michigan I like to check out the local restaurants. Never again with streetside grille. Got served by some lady named heather and she was not doing her job. Wait time was 40 minutes for 1 burger and 1 salad. my server was so rude and ignored us for most of the time. The service was good. The waitress checked on us often and kept our drinks filled. The interior has a typical bar feel, nothing standout. Their tables were wobbly and small. The food was excessively salty for my taste and too expensive for bar food. The meatball cupcakes (while a fun idea) were presented in a nice way but we're barely warm and so salty they were hard to eat. On the Thai salad we added chicken for a total of $18 it was very small and the chicken was not freshly made in fact tasted like precooked chicken from the refrigerator section. Neat bar/restaurant and with a wide variety of food and drinks. The Bloody Mary is exceptionally spicy. Was not as enjoyable and I was hoping for. Good selection of beers. I had a burger and it was a good burger. Pretty loaded up with a lot of flavor. I would recommend ordering the chipotle mayo for a side to dip the burger and sides in. The chipotle mayo was great! Went here recently on an overnight. We stayed in the Sutton's Bay Area and this place is very convenient to get to. Wait staff prompt and friendly. I had the sliders which were amazing, a friend had the roast beef rare and it was incredible. Drink menu had local wines and beers. Had a drink at the bar after and met a local brewer. My sister and brother-in-law thought I was nuts to drive them here just to try in my opinion one of the best comfort meals around. The service - Really wanted to give this place a 1 because our server was the rudest server I've had in my life but post-covid I understand that good help is hard to find. We were a table of 6 adults and 2 kids 3 and under and may have been annoying but I don't think we ever forgot our manners. Every time she came back to the table we probably needed something...a refill, an extra plate etc. At some point someone asked for a refill she threw up her arms, made some rude remark and walked away as someone else was asking for the check. We let them know we were unhappy with the service and because of this, we probably won't be back. The food - not bad! One said the lobster bisque was excellent as was bang bang shrimp. read more

We have friends in Traverse City so I suspect that we will up this way fairly frequently. Thus, it's important for us to find fun things to do and good places to eat. I think this one will be on our list. I imagine that it was a bit subdued on this visit thanks to COVID, but I got a good overall impression. Plus, my wife had been here once before and enjoyed it. And of course, it was recommended by our friends as a good meeting/eating place. I came for the beer (long day of sightseeing) and stayed for the meal. The menu choices included some of the typical bar items, but with their own spin. I had a hard time seconding what to get so I opted for a couple of items with the expectation that I would have leftovers for later. The highlight of the meal for me was the meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potatoes. Sounds simple but it was great. My wife was almost as equally impressed with her mac and cheese with bacon. Yep, I oils easily find myself here again to try the other items on the menu. And if they keep a good local beer selection on tap, that will is a lot to keep coming in the door. read more
