Great food!! Everyone is quite pleased with the preparation. Presentation is excellent. Portions are very nice and the price won't break you. Barb is a terrific server and follows up. Easy location to find and plenty of parking. Enjoy!!

Pretty OK food on breezy patio. Service insanely slow and incompetent, albeit super chatty/chipper. Wine didn't come until well over an hour in. Do not be on any sort of schedule, or hungry or thirsty when coming here. I think the wings made me sick, as I only had a few of them. But I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt...

Located just around the corner from my friend's house where I was staying in Interlochen, Oaky's Tavern is in such a random location while also having some of the most delicious food ever! You're driving down the street and then it's just there, a clearing in the trees, and you pull off into their gravel parking lot and head on in! Well for us, we headed to the side where their patio is because we had a few dogs with us! yes, Oaky's has a patio and it is dog friendly! The staff were so accomodating with our dogs, especially given that one of ours is a service dog in training. They left our dogs alone and didn't give them too much attention even though I know they really wanted to - and that's a really hard thing to do! At the same time, they made sure the dogs were well taken care of and had water bowls brought out and checked in on if we needed anything else! My friend and I got the chicken wings app and their loaded Caesar salad with salmon on it to share. Again, they were so lovely and were able to bring out our salad and salmon already separated in half for us, truly above and beyond, and I so appreciated that! All the food was so delicious and exactly what we wanted and needed in that moment. We left with our stomachs feeling very happy! My main complaint is the MOSQUITOS! Man alive, the service here was so fast so we were seated and done eating in under an hour, but the mosquitos did not play around and I got bit so so so many times - I counted 15 bites just from sitting on Oaky's patio for less than an hour. Given that they are located in a space right next to a whole forest of trees, this is definitely something to watch out for. It was unreal and I really wished Oaky's patio had anything to help combat the mosquitos - maybe plant some lemongrass in the area, citronella candles stationed throughout the patio in tiki torches and on tables, something - anything!! Maybe different chairs as well since their chairs had the waffle pattern and I was being bit on the backs of my legs and butt THROUGH the chair :'). So that's the only thing I would watch out for if you're going to sit on the patio, especially as it gets warmer and warmer throughout summer. In fact, the evening we went in early June was actually pretty cold, so I was surprised by just how much I was getting attacked.

Our first time here and we were served promptly and seated in our preferred seating, the service was warm and welcoming. The inside has a modern feel, and it's cozy. We ordered our drinks and a meal for my son, as well as an appetizer. The drinks, appetizer, and my son's meal all came out and a good pace. However, when it came to our food there was a little bit of a wait, around 15 minutes or so. I ordered the Bayou Mac, and my wife got the New York strip. The food was great, all in all a solid 4 stars. We will definitely be back to try some of the other enticing menu items!

I have been here multiple times throughout numerous ownerships. I personally schedule any doctors appointments for me or my elders on Wednesday's in Traverse City (I live out of TC) just to come to Oaky's for their chicken wing special. A shout out to Wendy who is so bubbly and wholesome. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.

If you're looking for a quick-no, I take that back (more on that in a minute), but large portion of food and a huge selection of beers and cheap cocktails (relatively speaking, compared to CA, $5 for a Guiness?...that's a deal, and $8 mixed drinks!) you can head here. I do have to give them the benefit of the doubt that the place seemed hugely understaffed, with an entire patio of probably nearly a dozen tables with only one server. But wait, she wasn't running the kitchen, so maybe they were understaffed back there? Anyway, while we were seated promptly and our beverages came out quickly, our food took a good 45 minutes. Really? Throw some chicken fingers in the fryer, some fries, some fish and chips? How hard is it? The place was busy, but not hopping. I don't know how it took that long but the only saving grace was that it was all hot and obviously hadn't been sitting at the pass under a heat lamp (or not) and freshly prepared, and the portions were HUGE. It was all tasty and in a this-is-salty-and-delicous-and-I-know-it's-not-good-for-me-but-I-want-to-keep-eating-it sort of way. Like really good fast food. Each of our dishes, the chicken fingers, the fish and chips, the fried chicken sandwich, were enough for two. Even if you're really hungry, any of these were probably a 1,000 calorie plus meal. I'm not here to give nutrition advice, but this was just an obscene amount of food for a single human being. Generous with the fries, generous with the protein. Again, the kind server who was scrambling just to keep up with clearing tables was obviously doing her best and was exceedingly apologetic about the wait time. So the two stars off are not for her, but for the average food quality and the lack of management as evidenced by the slow food service. If you're at your leisure, looking for some everyday American favorites with most of it probably coming off the back of a food service truck but still tasting pretty good, this is your spot. I would go back, but only when I know I have at least an hour, if not more, to dine and enjoy a beverage or two.

We choose Bud's because it opens at 7:00 am, has hot coffee and a diverse breakfast menu and is close to Interlochen State Park, where we are rustic camping. What a delightful surprise! This cafe is beautiful and so comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The photos capture the beauty. From overall decor to the details, it is a very welcoming environment. With seating indoor and outside, there is ample room to spread out and stay a while. These are qualities of a "gathering place" that set it aside from an average restaurant. The staff were friendly albeit laid back. Their speed of work took second place to friendliness. The menu has great looking options for entrees and snacks for all times of day. Prices are fair. We found the portion size of our skillet to be filling but on the small size compared to other places. Our veggie skillet was well cooked, had lots of veggies and was delicious. Coffee was fresh and tasty. We also had a pecan roll. Staff heated it and it was perfect. We plan to make this cafe our morning stop for the week. I don't think you will be disappointed if you also stop by.

Typically we'd start up a fire and get breakfast going at camp, but the toddlers didn't sleep well, nor did mom & dad, so we needed a life raft thrown our way. We ordered: French Toast + side of sausage Pattie's, Bud's Breakfast - Scrambled eggs, bacon & sourdough, and the Meat Skillet. French Toast: great cinnamon flavor, thick Texas toast, pancake syrup (would've loved pure maple) Sausage Patties: great flavor and texture! Bud's breakfast: my kids devoured! Bacon was perfectly cooked. Skillet: smaller portion than I was expecting, could've benefited from a sauce, but the ham + bacon + sausage was a lil crispy which I enjoyed. Thought the price was steep for the portion tho, maybe recommend serving with toast to make it fit the price better. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, would come back if in the area again.
