Great spot! Had so much fun this year. Definitely don't skip the mountain slide if you have kids!

The mountain slide saved the day. I thought it would be a fun day of picking apples and perusing the local farms. My 10 year old niece was not entertained by this at all. I don't blame her. Picking apples really isn't much fun. Thankfully, there is this super fantastic slide at Oak Tree Mountain. Buy multiple tickets because you will want to do it over and over and over. I could've stayed here all day. The entire Oak Tree Mountain experience is upbeat and fun. Like, so much fun! Wine, eatery, bakery, live music type of fun. No disrespect to the apple picking thing but, that's not me. I will however, return for the vibes of Oak Tree Mountain and this slide. read more

Oak Tree Mountain is so fun. There's so much to do. There's restaurants, bakeries, souvenirs, booths with homemade goods, apple picking, giant slides. Play structure for kids, live music, ax throwing...the list goes on. Everyone is friendly. Service at the hot dog stand was quick. Food was delicious. There were tables with umbrellas for shade. The ambiance was fun and it was animated, but having lunch there was very disappointing. Everything is overpriced, by a lot. The BBQ spot Twisted Oak BBQ, was absolutely terrible. Everything was cold and the meat was all undercooked and impossible to even cut through. We paid $50 for lunch and had to throw most of it away. The petting zoo was sad and should be removed if they can't take care of the animals. Bathrooms were dirty and did not flush. The pie shop looked good, but the line was too long. We enjoyed some of the shops nearby, which are unrelated and independent, but probably won't go back to Oak Tree Mountain. read more

The ax throwing is the best thing they have. It was really fun and inexpensive. However, beer and food were mierda. Nothing stood out. Common bar is lame. The service is super slow and they have terrible beers on draft. Hot dog place wasn't very good either. They didn't have any fries. They were replaced with nachos. Hot dog is meh. Put a padlock on your wallet, or set yourself a limit before heading inside. Sure, there are independent businesses trying to make a buck here - I assume the vendors in the little sheds pay rent, and otherwise are free to vend their wares, within limits. I'm all for free enterprise. The overall venue is all about delivering "family fun", and having you pay for it, individually. There is some free music to listen to while you eat treats, like from Apple Annie's Bakery. Otherwise, you can expect to pay for most of the other activities. Parking is free, though it gets full on the weekends. The village is uphill from the parking lot. At altitude, it can feel a bit daunting to climb upwards on a warm afternoon. The crafts available vary from woodwork to fabric arts, accessories, yard art, and much more. It's all colorful, loud, and often crowded. Watch out for strollers! I understand that there's a petting zoo, and some rides for little ones, but I never got that far into the upper reaches. I did buy a Halloween-themed shirt at one of the lower shops, and previously succumbed to some spices to enhance salsa on another visit. It's a touristy adventure! read more

I know that it's a little unfair for me to do this review on the off-season mid-week, but someone has to... It's DEAD on the off-season weekdays. NOTHING was going on, and we didn't see a single other person. It's sad because the website implies that some things are still open on weekdays...and I'm sure things like the petting zoo would have been open if we found someone to help us out, but the reality was that we didn't see anyone - staff or guest! It was literally a ghost town. We did stop in the bakery, just to make our trip worth it. We had an apple empanada and a slice of apple pie. The empanada was bigger than the pie slice and a better price, so I recommend that. read more

Me and my family go there every fall. There are delicious pie, unique store, and fun events. The people and the workers are friendly and easy to talk to. The autumn leaves and chilly air make things great! But I don't recommend the Bbq store because it serves one slice of cold bbq beef for $14 and the price is unreasonable. Their potato salad uses raw crispy potatoes with ranch. The other stores are okay or great! I love Oak Glen. read more

Drove 2 hours out here to pick your own apples and spend 3 times the price? Or did you press your own cider and shell out probably $30+? Yeah I know it's the "experience" so at least add a bit more to do when you come to Oak Glen. You're already there to waste a ton of money so come waste more at Oak Tree Mountain where there are other things to see and do! We took the kids and had a great time walking around. The place itself is very cutely decorated. There are some shops and restaurants of course. But there are also activities like this giant slide, playground, random stuff to take pics on, random stuff to take pics of, animals to see, axes to throw, bean bag toss, basketball, and I'm sure other things I missed. We happened to come during Oktoberfest so they had live music. There's a parking lot and a restroom (not a portable thank goodness)! My only gripe was that there was supposed to be a train for kids. We saw the train but it wasn't working that day. We didn't eat there but did swing by the "sweets shop" which is like 3 stores combined with the candied apples. It's expensive but like just expect to over pay and you'll have a good time. read more

I came here with my boyfriend after apple picking and this is such a fun place to hang out! I loved walking around the shops and just soaking in the fall vibes. We also tried out the mountain slide, which was not a bad price for a single ride, and it was so much more fun than I expected! It was an intense adult ride, so if you can try it out, you should do it! Overall, this place is so cute to check out, so if you're in the area, I'd highly recommend stopping by. read more

There is not a lot of options of places to go where you can enjoy some fresh air and pretty scenery. My friend and I came here the day after Thanksgiving to walk around and enjoy the afternoon. It's a great way to spend a few hours. There isn't a whole lot of shops and not that many places to eat but that's OK. We found some great photo ops and just enjoyed being somewhere else besides home...and obviously away from shopping malls. I would highly recommend coming here and stretching your legs and letting the kiddos run around. read more

There are a lot of food locations here so it's a fresh place to stop by in the way to going apple picking. It can get really packed really quickly so make sure that you get there early. It's located on a steep hill so make sure you're prepared for that. There are vendors present selling little trinkets so if you want to get a souvenir this is the place to do it. Parking can be extremely intense on weekends so if you're not here early, just make sure you're patient.lol. Visited on 9/21/24. Arrived around 8:30am to eat breakfast at their main restaurant Apple Annie's. We were greeted by two employees at the parking entrance who stated today they were charging $5 dollars for parking. When I asked for a receipt they said they were unable to provide one. Upon entering the restaurant the waitress, who I would describe as a crotchety old granny, told us that only a buffet was being served. It was $24+ for adults and 12+ for any child 0-9 years old. The tables outside the bakery and restaurant were very dirty and appeared un wiped from the day before. Afterwards went to the bakery. The pies and pastries looked wonderful. The employee let me know they us premaid pie filling for all their pastries. We purchased one of their famous a Mile High apple pies. We have purchased in the past and usually comes with a liquid apple drizzle on the side. I saw the containers of the drizzle on the counter. This time the employee said it doesn't come with the apple drizzle anymore but she also said I couldn't purchase any. So next we went to the playground. Well without to much detail I can say it was broken down and not well kept. Please see pictures. We also went to the petting zoo. No employee was at the entrance of the enclosure to prevent animals from wondering out. The enclosure was very filthy. You could not walk without stepping on animal droppings. We checked out the small shops who carried mostly overpriced poor quality trinkets. The apple cider donuts were not being sold. The mountain slid was fun. The slide itself does appear unkept. My daughter said that dirty water splashed her face every time she went down the slide. We left around noon for a few hours to do apple picking. On our way out they were no longer charging for parking. I would not recommend this place. read more

A part of me was really hoping this to be a hidden gem that would make me want to appreciate the outdoors and rustic sceneries... but it didn't. There were some beautiful animals such as peacocks, deers, and bunnies. Cute decor that has a cool worn-in feel. But other than that I got bored after 45 minutes. You have to pay extra to see the petting zoo. I was looking forward to apple picking but I guess it wasn't even apple season. Ended up going to a raspberry field miles away to pick those instead. The best part was the bakery!!!!! Got a humongous $6 cinnamon roll that tasted so fresh with the yummiest gooeyest icing!! They also had rice crispy treats and fudge that were calling my name. We visited this place on a Saturday after seeing videos of the mountain slide online and weren't sure what else to expect on site. We spent 2 hours doing activities. Come early because they close some activities earlier than others. Tickets for the slide were $8 per ride, 3 for $20, or 1 hour for $35. Kids 5 and under ride free. However, my 7 year old nephew sat in my lap and they did not charge him for a ticket. I think 2-3 rides per person is enough fun for the day. It was hot out and the staff was wetting the slide (and guests if they wanted to get wet lol). After the slide we did the petting zoo: $5 per person + $3 per feeding cup. That was the best part of our day because you can get up close to the animals and the kids loved it. The kids went on the playground and then had some snacks from the candy/ice cream shop. We also saw a bear roaming around the parking lot! Only complaint was the cleanliness of the restroom. read more

This is a fun little stop if you're heading to Oak Glen. You can find all kinds of hand made good and other nicknacks as well as delicious apple pies. Apple Annie's is the go-to restaurant in the plaza, but service is slow and they're often out of food. There's a petting zoo and even a small pond for fishing, but be prepared to pay a little extra for the novelties. It looks like there are going to be some major renovations soon... Someone clearly spent a lot of money building this place - and it looks great - but our first visit was a catastrophe and today showed that wasn't a fluke. Last year I ordered a coffee in the candy/ice cream shop. The woman behind the counter said "I'll try" and then ten minutes later gave me a latte that had to have been over 200 degrees. I involuntarily spit the first sip back out on the floor. First and last time that has ever happened to me. The lines today were unbelievable. The sit down spot was out of the question. Easily a 90 minute wait at 2PM. We still waited over an hour between ordering and waiting for food for both hot dogs(!) and barbecue. (Barbecue was undercooked BTW and they were out of 3 out of 4 sides.) I understand that staffing is challenging for many businesses these days. Although they were clearly making money hand over fist. Whatever they pay, I get bet they could have doubled it today and still have been doing pretty well. But the juxtaposition between what this place thinks it is and what it really is is also pretty jarring. The eating area is liberally adorned with IG-ready inspirational peace and love quotes, but the clientele is basically a roving fashion show for the latest in pro gun fashion. The kid working the axe throwing area even had a MAGA hat on. We hit one last crazy line at the "Milksmith Creamery." One poor girl behind the counter was doing all the work while 3-5 other boss-types mostly wandered around aimlessly. And they weren't even trying to hide the fact they were selling bottom of the barrel Thrifty Ice Cream (as seen at your local Rite Aid). This really could have been an annual trip for us, but next year we will be looking elsewhere for apple picking. read more

I can not even begin to describe the problems my family had at this petting zoo. First it is a stretch to even call it a "zoo" as there were barely any animals and you couldn't even get to some of them. And if those are their permanent living conditions then that is shameful because the pen had zero food for them and was cover in poop. Our toddler refused to walk around in there because it was so bad. But let me tell you, that was just the beginning of the problems we encountered at oak tree mountain. As my family and another family were attempting exit the petting zoo we came to realize that we were trapped in side. Yes you read that correctly. THEY LOCKED THE GATE ON TWO FAMILIES! Luckily we had one member of our party that didn't want to go in so she was able, after quite a long search may I add, to find a worker to let us out. Now let me paint you a picture. Our family that consisted of a disabled teen, a potty training toddler, and a 36 week pregnant women, along with another family that a toddler and two babies trapped inside. It was ridiculous. We we locked in for 15 minutes before someone let us out. This is such a safety hazard! I'm seriously considering calling the fire department. When we requested to speak with whomever was in charge we were greeted with none other than the wicked witch of oak tree mountain, the owner, Terri. I can't even begin to explain how unhelpful and rude this woman was. She had no sympathy and didnt apologize. When my mom was speaking with her she REFUSED TO GIVE A REFUND. im grateful that my disabled sister was so fed up that they put her in this situation because she was able to get a refund, but only when she made it clear that we had video proof of us being trapped. So greedy. And let me tell you that "petting zoo" was not cheap. I nor my family will ever return to this place and I highly recommend you and your families steer clear. While in oak glen we visited so other lovely places (Parrish and Riley's farms) who were staffed with such polite people who deserve your business more than this place. Take your fall/Halloween festivities somewhere else. read more

Let me save you the trouble of deciding whether or not to go to the "Milksmith Creamery" as it can hardly be called a creamery. Go to your local Rite Aid instead and you'll have a bigger selection of fresher ice cream and pay a fraction of the price. I love me some Thrifty ice cream but all they had was a small selection of 8 basic flavors that looked like they'd been sitting there in the freezer for a year. Vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, butter pecan. I can't remember the rest but nothing fun like mint n chip, bubble gum, or even strawberry. Also $8.95 for a milkshake. It took them over 5 minutes to make each one so I guess you're paying for the labor too. Gave 3 stars for now because I don't want to judge Oak Tree Mountain as a whole based on just the..."creamery", but we didn't have time to experience anything else. read more

Been coming here for years and am always disappointed at the restaurant. The food is not great and it takes a long damn time to get it. I passed on it today. Just don't. It's a pleasant outing with the family. They loved the ax throwing. Problem was it took 30 to 45 minutes. There wasn't even that many people there. They had four or five spots but were only using two of them. Workers were very nice and friendly. Someone else mentioned setting a budget going in. TRUTH!! 5 bucks here, 6 bucks there, etc. There were three of us and I don't know how families do it. None of this was for apple picking either. Be mindful of the prices. This was such a huge letdown. We stopped on our way back from Big Bear with our kids and almost nothing was opened or functional. All of the food stands and bars were closed, petting zoo closed, train ride was broken and all the train cars were haphazardly laying around the property. Restrooms outside the restaurant closed. Hanging out in Oak Glen with friends for mah [early] birthday and we decided to do a little detour to see what this village was all about. You can feed the ANIMALS!? I'm in. And as I sat there and watched that sweet little cow stick her tongue out while trying to eat the food, a few tears started to swell up in the corners of my eyes...reminiscing about how I grew up. My mom owns lots of land in Texas and we USED to own hundreds of cattle...all of which we fed pretty well. Grass. Fruit from nearby trees. Hay in the winter. Sweet sweet sweet memories. So this was my second time here and wow what a complete disappointment from the first time!!! Trash everywhere for one which was gross because it ruins the ambience. Forgot the hours of operation as well because it says 6pm and they start shutting the whole place down at 5pm!!! My son was super excited to ride the slide and at 5:15pm a teenager managing the slide area said it was closing and he would not allow even one more child in like even though we lined up behind a huge family he refused to allow my son to go down the slide. The mining for gold was gross, water was nasty and stagnant and the bags were thrown all over the area and there were none that were clean to use so forget the gold too! Now the worst part was the huge playground dome as you have another teenager managing that area yelling at the kids and not allowing more than a handle fun on it at a time so forget that too! This whole park was ran by lazy teenagers with zero personality! Definitely highly disappointed and won't be going back! No thanks! read more

I've been visiting Oak Glen since early 1970's ; Because it is everything that is good and wonderful on this planet that God's created. Every day is the best day to go to Oak Glen because Oak Glen has the best residences that live there , Oak Glen has the best business owners and the best food, Restaurants and shops. It has the best quality of life. I have said to much. If I say any more it will become polluted . Just like that very old commercial on tv that showed a mature American Indian with a tear running down his face because there was more people throwing there trash on the ground and leaving it there instead of putting the in the trash can . We were pleasantly surprised when with our experience at Oak Tree Mountain slide! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the outdoor environment is beautiful and so relaxing. For the experience it's reasonably priced! They have several slide ride options to choose from. You pay, sign a waiver, grab a donut tube and walk to the moving walkway that helps you get up to the top of the slide. The slide is fast and we recommend requesting the second row to your right, it's the fastest and gets the wettest! The staff wet & soap the bottom of the donut tube and that's what makes the donut tube go so fast down the mountain! We didn't clock the speed but we felt as if we were going down at 10-15 miles per hour! It's a must when you go to Oak Tree Mountain! I love going here! Especially in fall! During fall, this place is packed and parking is hellish! We endure it though. The air is crisp and clean. The smell of baked apple goods and roasted nuts fill the air! They have a petting zoo that is fun for the kids. Apple Annie's is also located here. A few small touristy stores line the main parking lot. A few small huts with arts & crafts along with other goods are just inside. All the work the third generation has put into upgrading Oak Tree Mountain is truly AMAZING! Our company just held its annual day out for the sales staff at Oak Tree Mountain and it was a huge success, due in no part to the assistance and professionalism of the Oak Tree Mountain staff, especially Jennifer Lopez. Our event had a western theme and the setting could not have been more perfect. On a beautiful outdoor patio shaded with colorful upside-down umbrellas, everyone dined on an excellent lunch of ribs, potato salad, sides, and even some of Apple Annie's famous apple pie! Then the staff made sure that we had everything we requested, including a mechanical bull, access to ax throwing, Drop 4 Basketball, cornhole, Giant Jenga, and the totally amazeballs GIANT TUBING SLIDE! Petting zoo is really cool. Lots of vendors selling overpriced Nick nacks (same stuff you see in most tourist locations). I paid $8.91 for regular sized bottle of Sam Adams and $21 for the worst brisket of my life with potato salad. The brisket was a horrible quality meat that was mostly fat and was very poorly rendered. The rest of it was tough as shoe leather. Myself and 3 others all had the same struggle chewing it. Financial regret. They've got a candy store, make sure you get there early because the line goes way out of the door. The atmosphere is nice in the fall. read more
