I was recently camping in Crestline and I like to come down to Lake Gregory. This time I decided to get out on the water and the first available rental was the Swan boat that you pedal on the lake. It was very easy to rent and the team there is very friendly and helpful. It was $45 for one hour which was perfect. We felt safe and really enjoyed the boat, and the lake and all the views that came with it. I don't know why I didn't try this sooner since I've been coming up here a few years already. The family had a great time at Lake Gregory, especially the boys. There were plenty of things to do, such as sliding down the slides, jumper, fishing, renting a boat, and hiking. Although the lake was fairly small, it offered a serene atmosphere. Visitors are allowed to bring their own food, chairs, and umbrellas, but alcohol is not permitted. The lake also has food available for purchase and provides life vests. Restrooms are conveniently located nearby, along with a shower to rinse off. Oh how I love Lake Gregory . Plenty of things to do here from hiking to fishing or just admiring the water. It is a contact lake in only the certain parts. During the summer, you can swim at the "Beach " part of the lake . But everywhere else is not allowed. There is a trail going around the lake, dogs are allowed but you need to leash them. I have seen dogs run into the water for a bit but they were closely watched .there is a dog park also . Plenty of parking at the lake , make sure you download "Park mobile" app to pay or they have pay stations there. They also have boat rentals there, kayak and aluminum boats. You can take your own vessel there but they cannot have gas motors. Float tubes and wake boards are allowed too! A great lake to fish too, especially during the winter months when they stock trout . Summer, they'll stock catfish . Beautiful lake, come check it out ! Staff here is helpful and very informative. So. We came to Lake Gregory for the inflatable water park. It was easy to park and download the park mobile app to pay for parking. We arrived at opening 10am, bought our wristbands and were able to find a shaded spot. The family enjoyed the inflatables and hillside slides. Parents be alert Cons- No floats allowed in the swim area Swimming is REALLY BORING JUST STANDING IN THE WATER The water is dirty and a bunch of gross slimy vines at the bottom as it gets deeper. The water in the swimming area was limited because there was NASTY slim gunk‍ No Grills or BBQs allowed. No alcohol Pros- Bathrooms. Plenty of space for your canopy. You can bring all you need to set up. A splash pad- I forgot to snap a photo. Sick people here. I seen a brother and sister touching each other like boyfriend 2 of my kids 3/6 had a hypothermia reaction. It was very scary. Shivering cold and sleepiness my child got from playing in the obstacle inflatable. Immediately we got out the water and I sat down for her to dry and get warm in the sun. A life guard assisted me with a Gatorade and towel. Her systems were severe hypothermia while my other child had moderate. Parents please be alert with her kids Parking is best when you download the app. ParkMobile. This place is tooo strict to have fun in the swimming area. Honestly, we will not be back here. This was a blast! Took the whole family, the weather wasn't perfect but we still had a blast! The obstacle course was a ton of fun. Kids enjoyed it! Recommend getting there early as there was a line to get in even before it opened! Everyone was nice and helped people when they fell off. A huge workout, lol thank goodness for the life vest, i was exhausted after each trip to the rafts/obstacle courses. Have fun and get out, this is a great place to go for the day! read more

Our first time here today and overall, we loved it. The little beach side Cafe thing had delicious food that was not too expensive. The lake itself was pretty darn clean. The side of the lake we were on wasnt too crowded either. The waterside was surprisingly super fun as well. Except for the rule of no personal inflatables and the reason being (from lifeguards) "false sense of security" as well as "environmental reasons". I find that excuse kinda weird considering they have a floating PLASTIC/RUBBER playground lol. Other than that small annoyance, no complaints. For the overall price of full access and how close it is to us (phelan) We definitely will still be back hopefully soon read more

This park is the perfect getaway from the city for a weekend. I came with some friends after renting a nearby AirB&B from Friday evening till Sunday at noon. We got here early (like 10am) and we had rented a motorized boat well in advance. If you're going to skip the water park part, like we did, and you already paid for your boat reservation, you can just skip paying at the gate (you explain to them that you're not going to the Waterpark part of the park) and skip getting a wristband, since it's not needed for the boat ride part. The lake itself is so peaceful, there are people doing all sorts of activities, like kayak, rowboat, and even paddleboarding. The nearby town (Crestline) is like a piece of rural North Carolina, in California, so it definitely qualifies as an interesting experience. read more

Five Stars for the fun inflatable water park they have during the summer! It costs $30/person for an all access pass so you can have fun on all the inflatable water slides and obstacle course and built in water slide. You can also rent a covered cabana that has dynamic pricing. On a Monday in August ours cost $149 and it included 4 long reclining chaises and a table in between. My tip is to split one with another family since it's really the adults who use it and like being in the shade since the kids will be in the water all day! If you dont get a cabana you can just set up right on the sand. I saw some people bring their own beach umbrellas for shade. As an adult I had a blast and was in the water a ton too. Everyone (kids and adults) have to wear a life vest but they provide them for free and it was clean so I wasn't grossed out. There are a few large slides and large inflatable course with multiple slides, ropes, monkey bars, trampoline, etc as well as a smaller kids area located closer to the shore. Parking is via the Park mobile app and is easy to do. They have a grill that serves up yummy food for lunch do you can stay and play all day. We'll be back here next summer too! read more

4 stars Decided to take my dog for a scenic hike and really enjoyed this loop around the lake! I believe it's 2.3 miles(?). Don't quote me on that! But it was really nice because the trail stops by a fenced dog park and an unfenced dog area near the lodge. Dogs are allowed to hike, but they must be leashed. Dogs aren't allowed in the water (not sure why), but that's not an issue for my dog since he hates getting wet. However, I did see one woman breaking the above rules....in her defense, I guess her dogs were extremely well behaved and kept to themselves/didn't bother anyone. Anyways, if you're looking for an easy hike, this is a really nice one to add to your list of hikes. Also, something I didn't advantage of, they have boats for rent and day passes for other forms of water entertainment. read more

This review is for the lake and its surroundings. We visited in November and it was picturesque with the Fall leaf colors. There is an easy walking loop around the perimeter of the lake (around 2 miles) which allows for beautiful photos along the trail. There are two main parking lots which you pay through your phone. The fees were reasonable ($2.35 for one hours and $3.35 for 2 hours). There are a few parking spots on the street as well. I love how quiet and peaceful it was. Lake Gregory is not as busy as Lake Arrowhead so I didn't have to deal with the crowds and traffic. There is a boat house where you can rent Duffy boats, kayak, fishing equipment, paddle boats, etc. There is a fenced in dog park. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! read more

Rented a summer lake house in Crestline and bought tickets for the inflatable water park at Lake Gregory. I was so happy to see it was not overly packed like most places can be. It truly is a beautiful lake, and we had so much fun on the obstacle course! The workers are so kind and patient (feels like almost everyone in Crestline is) and the lake was beautiful. Sure, there were a couple dead fish in the water... but what can you expect we are swimming and jumping into their habitat. The ticket price was amazing! 30 dollar adult price for an all day pass? This was definitely a perfect summer idea and recommend it to anyone else before summer ends. read more

Came to Lake Gregory for my family's annual Fourth of July vacation. Rented a lake view AirBNB for the fireworks, on Saturday the 6th, not the Fourth, which was weird but I get it. We arrived several days in advance to avoid all the out of towners who come in for the Jamboree Days. First day we went late in the day and the lake was at capacity and they would 't let us in. Fair enough we should have come earlier. Ordered passes online but could only get general admission (no water slide or waterpark) for the next day (Friday). At the same time ordered passes for waterpark and water slide for the day after that, Saturday, the big day in Crestline with the Jamboree Day parade, street vendors, and evening fireworks display. I'll write a follow-up review for the waterpark and slides since that was a different day, different experience. This day we went to the south end of the lake where parking is free (street) and there is no cost of admission. You can swim out as far as you like but space to set up is limited and there are way more underwater rocks, logs, algae, etc than you find at the maintained park areas. The general admission was fine. We lucked out and not only were we able to park there (it gets full fast!) but we also found a spot on the lake under a tree for shade. We had an umbrella thinking we would have to use but ended up not having to. Price was fair in my opinion. I know some don't like they raised prices but for the experience, had no problem with the cost. The staff was friendly, the rangers as well. The lifeguards were on top of it too. The only real knock I had was the general admission swimming areas. You are only allowed to go out a few yards where the water goes to 4 feet deep. That makes for a narrow stretch that can get pretty packed as more and more people go into the lake. Both my kids and I were accidentally hit / kicked by kids and adults due to the lack of space. Not sure why they have it this way, in years past the area was larger. Perhaps it's to upsell the (sold out) VIP water slide and waterpark admission. They were in the middle of a wicked algae bloom so we did see a small handful of dead fishes. I read some of the recent reviews and it seems like they were doing a good job minimizing the dead fish encounters. And I understand, algae bloom is out of their control so only seeing a few dead fish was much better than dead fish everywhere. And not like these were huge fish. They were like perch or something so about the size of your palm or maybe a little less. Also I know some complain about no alcohol but to me ( who does drink) I was glad they enforce the no alcohol rule. People can be maddeningly obnoxious even without alcohol so grateful they make sure it is family friendly and no drunken BS. Granted some find a way to sneak some in, like the group next to us, but I think they caught most of it at bag check and patrolling. Oh one other thing, I'm not sure why they close so early (5:30) during summer when the sun sets at 8:00 - 8:30. Seems like we could have at least another hour or two but I'm sure they have their reasons. We will continue to enjoy Lake Gregory every year, as we have for the past 10+ years. We look forward to our yearly visit and my kids were super unhappy when it was time to leave the lake and go back to the cabin. read more

Horrible that lake gregory does not private stock on the regular anymore.......November 7.... smh.... I think that it's time for new management to be honest...I remember every week stock besides DFG..... once a month... to not stock during the winter break is beside me always should have kept things this way.... makes me not want to bring my family up here for the day for a nice fishing day.....whomever you are and whatever you sre fight for the fishing before your summer waterslides.... management is ruining the traditions to this lake ..... make fishing great again!!!! read more

Rented a boat. Stood in line for 15 minutes while several employees stood around talking while 2 others were helping people which was ok I guess until we were told that the rental time started at the reservation time not the time we got on the boat. This is crazy since we were there early and in line. It was their employees who caused the delay. We tried to argue our side and were told if we came back later than the 40 minutes that were remaining they would charge us for another hour ($150) so we got 40 minutes on the boat that we paid an hour for. This little mountain town is very quaint and seems to be attracting more of our close relatives and friends to move here. We parked in the paid parking lot which costs 2 dollars for the first hour then 1 dollar for each additional hour. You can drive around and try to find free parking. The lake will take you less than and hour to walk around it's 2.4 mile route. If you love feeding birds make sure to bring along bread or seeds. read more

My kids and I had such an amazing time at the "Go Skate Day" event that was held yesterday at the Crestline Skatepark, across the street from the Lake. There was a DJ, Coffee Truck, Taco Bar, and about 10 different vendors selling/ giving away products who were all putting this on themselves. A sweet skate contest and a $1 raffle with some pretty awesome prizes. My oldest won a gift certificate for a pair of shoes!! Hopefully the owners of the park will one day remodel the worn down ramps and realize what a strong and positive community of skaters there are down there. Invest in the Youth!! read more

I initially came out to Lake Gregory to experience the inflated water slides and activities. Unfortunately, by the time my family and I arrived, the parking lots were full and a very long line to get in. The beach area with the inflatable slides and water activities was overwhelming full of canopies and really no space to set up. All access pass is $20, which includes access to the beach, inflatable water park and water slides. I highly suggest you get here really early, 9am if possible. The Park hours are from 10am-5pm. I recommend that you check out their website: lakegregory.com/activities. The website gives you all the information you need when planning your trip. You can check out the list of activities available, book an activity, book lake rentals etc. I really wanted to try their aqua-cycles, which start at $20/hr. This activity is definitely on my to do list when I come back to visit. Looks like so much fun! If you want to find an affordable kayak company, I suggest you visit the other side of the lake. Opposite of the beach access area. We rented kayaks for $16 an hour. This was such a cool and relaxing experience. I was able to truly appreciate and enjoy this lake. read more
