Summertime is crazy here! I avoid this place at all costs. The line to get in is incredibly long, and once in the gate, parking is hard to come by. If you're not in line before the gate opens, entry to the water park area is a toss up. The park is nice, it's just the volume of visitors in summer that makes it hard to enjoy.

As of lately Yucaipa regional park has become a yearly tradition. We simply enjoy it! Park opens at 7:30 am but people start to get in line as early at 6:30Am Park entrance is $10/ vehicle. This year we went to the pool side of it and had a blast! Pools open at 10:30 am but I highly recommend encourage you to get there early. It's has limited availability and so it's on a first come first serve basis. Swimmers cost is $8/person ( no slide access) Slide rate is $12/person They close at 5 pm. They have cabana rentals (3) again first come first serve basis. Rate is $100 for the rental.

We went to this park to meet with people who wanted to adopt a dog that our neighbor abandoned, and were very impressed with all of the amenities. The fishing pond was quite busy and people of all ages were having a good time. We met with the adoptees at a picnic table in the frisbee golf area, and had friendly chats with a number of players that were enjoying the course. We drove through the park to look at the waterslides, which looked like something our kids would really enjoy when the weather gets hot in the Palm Springs area where we live. The cost was $10 per car to get in and $! per animal, but we were told that we didn't have to pay for our dog which was nice. Overall a very good experience and we will definitely drive the 1 hour to this park in the summertime.

It was a slow Friday and really nice winter day, so it became a picnic day. We picked up some sandwiches and brought some apples and soft drinks, and headed to the Yucaipa Regional Park for lunch and a stroll. This is an overlooked opportunity to break from the city, while still being in the city. This park is incredibly large and during the week has plenty of room for everyone. We paid $8 for the vehicle parking fee ($10 for the weekend days and holidays). As you can see from my pics the views from our picnic table were amazing. When we were done, we then walked about. As we went around one of the lakes, you can see in my pic a White Pelican floating. (Probably has something to do with the Park's recent stocking of fish. It is permissible to fish here, but there are rules and fees you'll need to find out about.) We then ventured up one of the hillier paths for great views of Yucaipa. Overall, this was a great escape from the concrete jungle.

This is for fishing only. Idk if it was because the holiday weekend after Xmas or what but nope! Never again might try on a "slower month" waaaay too many people I showed up at 5am and was still 15th car in line. With another 20/30 behind me in 10/20mins after arriving. And it kept getting longer and longer. Until 730am .. mainly a bait and wait game at all 3 lakes shoulder 2 shoulder. For 22$ I'd rather try my luck at SARL. Overall nice scenery and playgrounds for kids as well as restrooms.

They got a Ice & water machine at the park now. You can use your own cooler or cold bag drops right in. Also use any water jug. 10 lbs per ice Vend 1 gallon per water vend.

Came on a weekend and paid $10 for parking. This park is fairly empty even on weekends. Pool/swimming was closed in September. Lots of area to picnic and host outdoor parties. Wish parking was free otherwise a decent park.

The pool closed at 4pm for Treatment. The pool had 3 or 4 active life guards. There are buoys in the pool that Lifeguards remind the pool guests not to touch. There are two slides that are $12 entry, the pool is $8 entry. The parking fee is moderately priced. I look forward to planning a family event at your campgrounds. I look forward to seeing the indoor swim plaza, rowing and fishing.

Second time today going and still loved it! It's so fun convenient for everyone: adults & kids. Parking is $7 to go inside the park. It's an additional charge to swim by it's not expensive at all. Recommend it for the summer.

    Entrance to water park

My husband and I came camping for two nights, with our two dogs on Thursday right after school was out for summer. We chose this place because the water park is advertised as "open daily." Well, it's only open on Saturdays and Sundays for the first month starting Memorial Day weekend. We left Saturday so we didn't get to go. Anyway, here's a tip, Google Maps tells you to turn left into the soccer fields. You need to keep going passed that, and the campground entrance is on the left. Once you get in, rv camping is to the right, and the tent camping/picnic area is to the left. The water park is also on the left side as well as a couple of lakes to fish at and enjoy the view of. You cannot see the lakes from the campground. The campground itself is pretty good. There is lots of space between sites with lots of shade. There are several double and triple sites also. The grass is a combination of green and brown weeds. We stayed in site 18, which was nice, but our Directv was blocked. The wifi was not available at all, and we had to use our mobile data the whole time. Our neighbors were very, very friendly and there was lots of space to walk and ride bikes. It's a 35-minute round trip walk to the tent area and back. There is no pool because they have the water park. It seemed like all the campers enjoyed themselves.

We travel here from Las Vegas to enjoy this fun place. HELPFUL TIP: Arrive early to get in line. Park opens at 7:30am But the complex opens at 10:00am with entrance fee $7-$10, depending if a holiday. Swim complex charges their own fee. No BBQ allowed unless you pay $100. You are able to cook in the parking lot. The restrooms are clean and have a plug in by the sink.

What time should you get in line to enter yucapia regional park? It fills up fast even during the week.?

Depending on what day of the week you go and or if there are any special events going on. If it's during the weekend I suggest getting there early 6 am to get in line if you want to the pool side of the park. If that's not what you want you can go… Read more

Are EZ UP shades or beach umbrellas allowed in the pool area?

Yes, as long as they do not block the lifeguards view.

Is there any racoon, bear or any type of animals that will roam around the campsite at night? Is there insects flying during the night? Do we need red light so we are not attracted to the insects? Is the waterslide open already?

We were there for about 3 nights and only heard the Cayotes from a distance. We did not have any trouble with insects, not sure if they are out due to the warmer weather now. There was maintenance taking place on the water slides at the time, would… Read more

    Is the waterslide open already?

    Is it cash only?

Can I bring my own kayak and access the water?

Are masks required at lagoon swimming area?

    No mask required

    How salty is the water?

It's not salty. It's not like the ocean at all.

Do you have a to reserve a spot for a birthday party or could you just shown up and hope you get lucky?🤞🏼 If so, does anyone know how much it costs?

You can reserve one of the 3 shelters that they have. They seat about 200 people and cost 400$

Are dogs allowed in the water?

And found out that the bottom of the refrigerator did not get very cold so I was actually worried about all of our food going bad so we called the front and let them know that the refrigerator was not working. The freezer worked fine so they sent somebody down to check it out. And he brought us a small refrigerator that he put on a table outside. So we could put some of our food in it so we did that, but notice that the refrigerator did not work very well. Either. But anyways, we just kind of dealt with it.. Then the maintenance guy came back and told us that they are giving us a free 2 hours on a pontoon boat for the inconvenience. I truly highly recommend this place, they truly make sure that you are comfortable. And they do try their best.I give these guys five stars.. A few things in their trailer should actually be updated. But we made things work. We will all definitely be going back there.Hopefully, they can get that trailer updated on the mattresses. The refrigerator. And just overall, the cleanliness of the trailer actually was not up to my standards, maybe they could do better, but other than that, it was awesome, very relaxing, enjoyed the nature and most definitely enjoyed the pontoon. Thank you again so much , and we definitely will be returning

That guy goes out of his way to do what ever he can to make my visit enjoy for me and my grand-dude. The residents of the lake are also very helpful, welcoming to guest. There was a 8 yr old kid name Tauren who with his father's ok, walked up and down the shore to assist visitors in catching fish by offering his extensive knowledge of the lake and fish habits. Im already scheduling another trip. The water was low for the 2nd year in a row but I cant blame the lake for that! My one complaint is really trivial but the pillows and beds in the cottage were too hard and very difficult to sleep on. Also, the cottage I was in had two uncovered windows in the kitchen and the neighbors can look directly into the cottage at any hour.

Bears play a pivotal role in my life: they are one of my spirit animals, my name means "Little…read moreBear" in Latin which is also a pet name moniker, I have a tattoo with a bear and another of the Ursa Minor constellation, my deceased father was obsessed with bears, etc. When I was a teenager before evening living in the state of California (which obviously has its own bear connection); I was obsessed with MTV just like every other hot-blooded teenage girl. One year, MTV production went to Big Bear for a winter skiing getaway. I was instantly drawn to Big Bear per the name and somehow felt my soul tugged (the same as to the entire state which is why I moved here nearly two decades ago). I vowed to someday visit Big Bear. I am also one of the proud members of the 'Eagle Fam' who is faithfully devoted to the world-famous bald eagle couple Jackie & Shadow watching their nest cam every day. My adult vow, added to the teen one regarding visiting, was to see Jackie and Shadow's nest in real life sans camera. Well, the day has come and Little Bear has finally visited Big Bear! If those of us living in Los Angeles aren't spoiled enough; we have the amazing San Bernadino Mountain range village of Big Bear just a two-hour drive away where we can escape the hustle-bustle of stressful LA and enjoy the alpine splendor that is Big Bear. Big Bear is known for its skiing season but is also a summer retreat with cabin life, hiking, boating, fishing, zip lines, shopping, etc; 7000+ feet above sea level surrounded by pine trees and mountains that kiss the sky. Even the drive to Big Bear is glorious on the winding road up the mountain that famously reveals Big Bear and its centerpiece model the lake in the distance glittering blue surrounded by mountains. Big Bear is breath-taking even before you formally arrive. As an Angelino, the energy and vibe of Big Bear can't be ignored. Not only is the air clean and devoid of smog, but it is peaceful, slow-paced and calming: a genuine retreat that feels worlds away from the LA proper. At the center of it all is the main showpiece: Big Bear Lake, itself. The lake is 7 miles in circumference but manages to appear sweepingly larger and is surrounded by cabins, boat docks, shopping, skiing, hiking trails, Big Bear Village (the central mountain tourist-y district) and the commercialized village center with everything from Vons, Starbucks, Dollar Tree, Marshalls and Grocery Bargain Outlet to nearby Big Bear Courthouse, post office and library. The lake is the prom queen of Big Bear. If you're thinking that it is probably just any old lake; you are sorely mistaken as it is a thing of beauty. As a Jackie and Shadow fan club member; I went to the Captain John's Marina/Dana Point Park shoreline Fawnskin section of Big Bear Lake which is the official, legal viewing point of the bald eagle nest (the land directly surrounding the nest and their famous roost trees is federally protected especially during nesting season and is a criminal act to trespass). Bring binoculars because looking up from the ground is further optically then from the nest cam in reverse. While I was there, Jackie was on the nest with the two babies but I was hoping to catch Shadow, the King of Big Bear either fishing or flying-in. I had waited and just when I literally verbally stated, "Shadow show yourself!"; I kid you not that he flew right over from the other side of the lake and soared above in circles only approximately 60 feet above for a minute in duration. I cried and this was one of the most magical moments of my life and a true spiritual encounter with the celebrity Shad Daddy. Big Bear is also magical in that even in the skiing off-season of April when I visited; a snowstorm hit and the pine trees and lake turned into a Christmas Card. Even I, this Los Angeles sun girl who loves heat and hates the cold; had snowflakes in my eyes and felt like a child surrounded by magic dust has I haven't truly been in snowfall in 17 years. A very dire and controversial topic effecting Big Bear at the time of this review is the fight against land developers who purchased the 'Moon Camp' parcel of land very close to the nest and want to bulldoze over 2k trees, create 50 boat slips and luxury housing even though there is NO housing shortage in Big Bear. The developers have agreed to sell Moon Camp to the Friends of Big Bear nonprofit/San Bernadino Trust for the hefty sum of $10 mil by July 31st to save Moon Camp and forever protect Jackie and Shadow's home area. The cause has gone worldwide viral and at the time of this review is up to $3 mil in donations (failure is not an option and financing will be the next step is $10 mil isn't reached). Big Bear Lake and the entire mountainous retreat city now hold a piece of my heart and I am chomping at the bit to return. This peaceful and heavenly mountaintop lake and city is the must-see of all Angelinos whether for skiing, boating or visiting the King and Queen, Jackie and Shadow.
