Having a good time at mountain lakes
    Isabel C.

Sophia was so wonderful at the night desk. She gave us the best attitude and wonderful attention to detail. Thank you Sophia for all your help.

I got to come here on a visitors pass while some family members were staying and honestly.. it was great. If I was in a different place in life, I would become a member with my boys. The fishing is peaceful and awesome (not much of a challenge for those who prefer natural water but for kids it was a blast), the whole area is so clean and well taken care of, and the best part? The other campers. The people that we met were so friendly and incredibly kind, it's sad how much that means in this day and age. We were with a group of young boys who have never filleted a fish in their own but they were welcome to watch the more experienced people with no judgement and when it came time to step up and try it themselves, an older gentleman got out of his car to show them the ropes. I wish I knew who this man was so I could send him a thank you card. We had a great time and would love to visit again.

Backing right up getting ready for a beautiful holiday weekend overlooking the lake

What a timeshare! From generations to generations, my family has been coming to Mountain Lakes and it's never a disappointment. Started off with my Mom owning a membership soon after my family grew. My kids had kids, and it was time to get a RV of my own for the grandkids. Over two decades of fun, laughter, and family memories. They are always adding and changing things up from wrestling, bingo for kids and adults, golf cart, parades, spectacular Halloween events, and more! Thank you, Mountain Lakes!

I love Mountain Lakes! I have been visiting mountain lakes since I was a kid and being a member now and to be able to take my family up is wonderful. I have so many memories with my grandparents and now I get to share those with my family. The park has definitely been upgraded over the years and is well taken care of. Very family oriented with the 3 different pools splash pad for the lil ones is pretty awesome as well as there miniature golf course and the amount of activities that are done through out the day the keep the kids off the phones and exploring nature. Not to mention the beautiful lakes. Nothing like a trip up to Mountain Lakes!

Once we entered the park and drove around the lake, I noticed that there was a gonglomerate amount of people and nearly everyone was fishing. There were zero open spots to fish. The vegetation has grown so high and taking up so much of the shore it's really limited the spots fisherman have to fish. I scoured the edge, the bank and did not find one open spot for me and my son to fish! I wish person at the front gate had mentioned. Hey there's a lot of people here. You may not find a spot but no nothing! upon walking to the lake on 5 different occasions the water was extremely green and very disgusting to look at. We were in the park less than 30 minutes when I went back to the front gate and requested a refund because I wasn't going to stay. Nowhere on the front gate, the front office, door the inside, glass on the inside walls: does it say that refunds are not given on site or not at all. After speaking to the clerk Alex, who was really rude, informed me that refunds are not given, but a document needs to be filled out and processed, and then MAYBE approved by two upper people only then for them to MAYBE decide if a refund can be given. Total bullshit. You've taken my entry fee, your provided zero communicate to fishing related questions, and you won't issue me a refund on the spot, why?

We had driven from Arizona for some cooler weather and had the hardest time simply finding a good spot for the kids to play and swim without needing to pay a fortune (We dont have to pay to swim in lakes in Arizona which I didn't know was a novelty??) We rented a cabin by Arrowhead lake and found out AFTER we got there that it is a private lake. We were told by locals that a great family lake was Lake Gregory which was about 20 minutes away. We drove to lake Gregory only to be told by park rangers that we cant swim in the lake unless we go to the designated family beach area and pay $10 per person (adults and children included) to use a small crowded beach area. That particular day I gave in and paid so my children could have some fun outside and in the water. I was determined to continue looking... FINALLY, I searched for rivers, streams and hiking nearby to get some peace and adventure and came across this little gem. Maybe we got lucky since it was in the middle of the week, but there were very few people on the trail, not to mention only one other family with kids at the swimming hole that my kids played with. The water was clean and cool, it was not crowded, there was ample shade and sandy beach areas...it was PERFECT. I would highly recommend this area for family use.

The fish are plentiful and hungry. - They had plenty of chairs, buckets, nets, etc. - The rented rods were pre-hooked and weighted (though some were missing hooks, so check before you grab one). Cons: - We arrived about 10 minutes after they were supposed to open but the gates were still closed and there was already a short line of people waiting. Thankfully we only had to wait another 5 minutes before they opened. - The fish are SO easy to catch that we had 4 in about 10-15 minutes (though one broke the line and got away). At $12 per pound, the cost was over $125 including our entrance, 2 rod rentals, bait, and the 3 fish we took home. That was about what we expected in terms of price - but it was a long 1 hour drive for 10-15 minutes of action. - The biggest disappointment was that the website said we could have our fish cleaned and fileted there - but once we arrived they said it wasn't available this weekend (a sign indicated it also wasn't available last weekend). I had tried calling the day prior to verify everything, but all they have is a recorded message. We have neither the tools nor knowledge to clean the fish ourselves - so now we are figuring that out. That had been one of the biggest reasons we chose this "easy" experience. All in all, I'm still glad that we went and that my son caught his first fish - but just be aware what you might be in for and plan accordingly.
