Just spent the weekend here, it was perfect! Something for everyone! Kids had a blast, very friendly atmosphere!!!

We've spent countless seasons at Mountain Lakes for at least 20 years and have been members for 10! Prior to becoming members, we couldn't turn down a guest invitation, until we finally bought our own membership. Our family and friends have made so many wonderful memories here. The amenities and grounds are very well maintained. Throughout the years we've seen many changes, improvements and upgrades. The splash pad is perfect for families with little littles. We've always felt safe, comfortable and welcome. The rangers are good at keeping order and safety. This place is a little oasis, filled with family friendly fun spaces and even adult only relaxation/party zones! The HOLIDAYS and all the seasons!! Omg! SO MUCH FUN! New Years, Easter, Summer, HALLOWEEN, Winter! The ambiance, activities and events are core memory makers for sure. Unfortunately the meadow area was washed out by a winter rain storm (Dec. 2025), but we're excited to see what it will look like once it's back open. Chillaxin in the creek was top tier! The staff is pretty friendly and will answer your questions the best they can. Looking forward to making more memories here over the years to come. Not worth it. Prices keep going up they charge you for cable even if you don't use it. Every weekend they have the pool bar open and you can't even bring in your own water. They don't allow electric bikes anymore after we bought them specifically for here. read more

Camp ground is beautiful, swimming pools are clean. Concern, restrooms and showers are neglected and filthy. I would expect this from a public facility, not a private resort where we pay thousands of dollars to belong. read more

Mountain Lakes is truly a hidden gem! From the moment you arrive, you can tell it's a place designed for families to relax, have fun, and make lasting memories. The entire facility is clean, well-maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with anything you need. The cabins are spacious and have everything you could ask for--including cookware, dinnerware, a microwave, stove, and full-size refrigerator--which makes packing and meal prep so much easier. My kids absolutely love the splash pad, mini golf, and the family swimming pools. One of my favorite perks is the adults-only pool, where you can unwind with a drink from the full-service bar while the kids enjoy all the family activities. My husband always looks forward to fishing in the trout and catfish ponds, which always seem to be well stocked. The convenience store on the property is another huge plus--it has all the best snacks along with basic groceries, so you never have to leave the resort if you forget something. Overall, Mountain Lakes truly has it all. Whether you're looking to relax, fish, swim, or spend quality time with family, this is the perfect place. Here right now trying to take a shower but no water pressure. Same thing with the people next to us. Saw people riding electric bikes and they weren't told anything. Been a member for over 25 years it's not the same place when I bought it too many new rules yeah take away the privileges of riding your electric bike as a senior citizen! Dues have gone up every year more and more and haven't seen that much improvement! Very few 50 amp sites and they allow a tiny camper in a 50 amp spot. They should have some type of rule! We were there as guest thinking maybe we would buy in, but our experience was not good , going to the adult pool, we were told no cups, drink or ice chest in there. Checking our towel bag for anything. We were also told no water jugs, I had water and ice and poured it out in front of security and was told not even the empty cup could come in. No bottle water, even if it hadn't been open. Then we sat in the patio area to hear Chico Band, and another security lady, acting like a Cop told us we need to take all food ice chest and drinks again out of that area. Told once again we need to buy from the bar area . Wanting us to leave out the gate get in line like a dam night club to get back in. Hardly anyone went in, so I guess the sells at the bar was useless. More people sitting in the out side drinking their own water. So, I won't be becoming a member of this nonsense. I got to come here on a visitors pass while some family members were staying and honestly.. it was great. If I was in a different place in life, I would become a member with my boys. The fishing is peaceful and awesome (not much of a challenge for those who prefer natural water but for kids it was a blast), the whole area is so clean and well taken care of, and the best part? The other campers. The people that we met were so friendly and incredibly kind, it's sad how much that means in this day and age. We were with a group of young boys who have never filleted a fish in their own but they were welcome to watch the more experienced people with no judgement and when it came time to step up and try it themselves, an older gentleman got out of his car to show them the ropes. I wish I knew who this man was so I could send him a thank you card. We had a great time and would love to visit again. read more

Ah, Mountain Lakes in Lytle Creek--a little patch of nature where city folk go to pretend they've rediscovered their wild roots, all while hauling coolers the size of small caravans and blasting top 40 hits from portable speakers. It's a charming place, really, with its still waters and the gentle rustling of trees, though I suspect the "back-to-nature" experience here is more of a polite handshake than a full embrace. As someone who fancies himself a connoisseur of rugged living, I arrived with high hopes and the fervor of a man ready to commune with the great outdoors. I had visions of catching fish with my bare hands, crouched by the water's edge like a noble otter. And indeed, I managed to scoop up a fine trout, much to the amazement of a family nearby. But rather than applaud my primal prowess, they gasped in horror and muttered something about "rules" and "licenses." Rules? Bah! In my day, a man didn't need permission to pluck his dinner from a stream; the fish swam, the man caught, and the circle of life continued uninterrupted. Then there was the issue of relieving oneself. After an invigorating hike through the trees, nature's call beckoned. And what better way to answer than as our ancestors did--with a dignified squat beneath a shady pine, communing with the earth as one should in such settings. Imagine my surprise when a park ranger materialized from the bushes, clipboard in hand, to inform me that my contribution to the ecosystem was, shall we say, unwelcome. Apparently, there are "bathrooms" for such things--soulless little shacks that reek of chemical despair. In my time, a man's connection to the land was sacred; now, it's regulated and ticketed. But beyond these minor skirmishes with modernity, Mountain Lakes was a delight. The air was crisp, the scenery splendid, and the waters teeming with fish that, alas, I was no longer allowed to catch in my preferred fashion. I spent the afternoon lounging by the lake, watching the clouds drift lazily by, and marveling at the curious creatures known as "campers," who seemed to require an entire trunkload of equipment to survive a few hours in the wilderness. The trees stood tall and silent, likely chuckling at humanity's attempts to return to nature while staying within cell phone range. Still, there is a peace here, a sense of simplicity that even the most harried soul can't help but appreciate. Just don't expect too much freedom when it comes to behaving like a wild man--they've got rules, after all, and apparently "going feral" isn't part of the brochure. In the end, Mountain Lakes offered me a lovely escape from the modern world, even if the modern world still insists on tagging along with its permits, policies, and polite disapproval of hand-fishing. I'd gladly return, though next time, I'll be sure to pack a fishing pole and maybe learn to respect the delicate balance between wild freedom and park ranger diplomacy. read more

They nickle & dime you & keep selling memberships & it gets harder & harder to reserve a spot. Not all the cabins are remodeled, some are outright awful and now they increase the price to reserve a remodeled cabin. How the hell does our increased quarterly fees not pay for upgraded cabins already. Remodeling the cabins was a necessity. They were falling apart. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP. What a timeshare! From generations to generations, my family has been coming to Mountain Lakes and it's never a disappointment. Started off with my Mom owning a membership soon after my family grew. My kids had kids, and it was time to get a RV of my own for the grandkids. Over two decades of fun, laughter, and family memories. Been a member for 5 years and the place is really fun except during trout season. Once they stock trout the crowd changes. I love to fish with my kids but its really frustrating when groups of guys are walking around with matching T-shirts or sweaters from some trout company that sponsors them or something. They try to sell you stuff while your fishing. You see them release small trout and only keep the bigger ones, even though your not supposed to release trout or catfish. They catch more than their limit of 5. They setup cameras to record themselves fishing sometimes. i dont understand why the company allows them to act this way. It reminds me a lot of Santa Ana River lakes. You get none of this during Catfish Season. I am cool paying my dues but i dont want to be recorder or have people trying to sell me stuff while I am fishing with my kids. read more

Pools are not heated. Adult pool is used by family's because family pools are closed most of the time. Young children in diapers are in hot tub very unsanitary. Couldn't sell my membership because they want to charge new people $750 per quarter membership fees I was only paying $177 so we just dropped our membership the place has gone down hill and not worth going there read more

I love Mountain Lakes! I have been visiting mountain lakes since I was a kid and being a member now and to be able to take my family up is wonderful. I have so many memories with my grandparents and now I get to share those with my family. The park has definitely been upgraded over the years and is well taken care of. Very family oriented with the 3 different pools splash pad for the lil ones is pretty awesome as well as there miniature golf course and the amount of activities that are done through out the day the keep the kids off the phones and exploring nature. Not to mention the beautiful lakes. Nothing like a trip up to Mountain Lakes! read more

1. There was a lot of dog poop. Guests do not clean up after their dogs and the maintenance crew for the campground doesn't either. Recommend that the park install poop bag dispensers and cans. 2. The security personnel are unprofessional. In particular, a gentleman referring to himself as "the Sargent" on 5/25 turned his back on me and walked away while I was providing feedback directly to him. 3. The facility is a campground with amenities.. I guess that La the reason for it being referred to as a resort but it's really a campground with irresponsible dog owners, unprofessional staff, and poor customer service. read more

I have been coming here since childhood. I have wonderful memories and I've always had amazing experiences. Since becoming an adult and having children of my own I have been visiting Mountain Lakes at least twice a year with my family. We rented a cabin for the weekend and it was more money than I've ever paid to rent one and it was in such disrepair I couldn't believe it. I believe the pictures don't even show how bad of shape this cabin was and it was very evident that it had not been cleaned for some time. Our feet were black from the floors and there were cobwebs in every corner. We didn't even use the shower during our stay because everything appeared to be unclean. If it had been a hotel room that was that broken down and dirty I would've demanded a refund. Mountain Lakes your prices continue to increase but your facilities do not reflect the price. Love coming here with the kids. It's nice and peaceful. However with today's visits I'm not very happy. I noticed several spaces with occupied RVs however no sign of owners causing people that want to come and camp go around in circles trying to find a spot. Owners are coming and leaving their RV/campers for days. When did this rule change ? The Kids pool is super cold but adult pool has a heater? Not ok also kids pool area was dirty and hair around the drains. Showers need better cleaning as well. Sad to see this place go down read more

This is a very nice park. We belong to thousand trails so it did not make sense for us to purchase a time share. It is a great family place. Families were having a great time. It's a real gem for people who live in and around LA who want to camp and just relax. read more

Although the lake and scenery is beautiful it lacks brand new materials and up to date essentials for example arcade is old and ran down most machines don't work or take money also candy taste like its been sitting for years another thing is they can't invest in routers or even a router for the whole resort which leaves my phone at SOS there is a guest wifi but I'm not a guest and hardly even works you can't even set up a movie which is really devastating, there should be provided routers inside cabins especially with a membership owned kinda disappointed with how they set up the whole resort, only come here if you wanna go fishing. read more

It use to be a great place to camp, but they raised prices of things sky high. Quarterly dues went from 135.00 to 750.00 in just a matter of months. They now make you pay for cable rather or not you have a tv or not. Parking is outrageous. Making money anyway they can seems to be their major priority. Wow! What a major upgrade. We decided to visit mountain lakes after 3 years and so much has changed. We really enjoyed our time during Labor Day weekend. So much has been upgraded and updated. The river area was clean and beautiful. The cabins looked like they're all updated. The golf course area was redone. The pools, restrooms, and showers were clean. There were so many employees and maintenance workers all around which I appreciated. We will be back again. read more

I went there last year for my grandfather's birthday! I had a sore neck at the time but i tried to ignore it. There were a lot of fun activities such as the pools and mini golf and fishing. I didn't catch any fish sadly but maybe someday. The only complaint I have is the spiders in the cabins but thats it. read more

Been going since a little girl(35+years) Now I go so my kids can make memories as I had the joy of doing. Only thing now, is it's ALOT more expensive. Of course with everything now a days, the cost has gone up. But one thing that should still be cheap to do is CAMP. And unfortunately it's not the case. Hoping Mt. Lakes finds it in their hearts to stop inflation on their part. Every new thing done to the resort, you guys keep raising the price. You are already filthy rich, enough is enough. Please, help keep family camping memories #1 rather than seeing dollar signs with all of us. Help us want to keep returning. Lower the costs. And or create something that builds incentive for us members. Such as during off season when you guys are slow, lower the damn cost for guests. Be appreciative we are bringing in business. Wonderful place for kids recreation activities and more we came here for the weekend for the first time. The employees are super friendly and will go out of their way to help you such as finding the general store local hiking spots and providing information on local places to visit. Be aware that this is a membership establishment which requires a cost to be a member. However if your new and you do t mind sitting and listening to a 1 hour presentation on all the benefits your first weekend is free to try. Plenty of pools heated and spas for relaxing. Lots of activities such as movie nights bingo and more and if you have a family you may want to try this place out. This place is a rip off! They make promises that they don't keep to sell memberships and keep raising quarterly dues every year. Don't buy a membership unless you want to just flush money down the toilet because once you're in, they make it impossible for you to get out! If you are considering buying a membership, be sure to do your homework and join some Facebook groups to see what their own members are saying. When most of the members are unhappy, there's a problem. And they don't care to do anything about it, they just keep selling memberships to more unsuspecting people. read more

The raffle for the golf cart was a SET UP!! I saw the whole thing transpire. That couple that's on the newsletter was handed the winning ticket !!!!!I'm a new member and I referred my friend. And I saw them do a bait and switch. Nobody seems to care that that guy the sales rep is DIRTY!!! Check into it. Look into it. Investigate .
