This is by far the best tailor I've been to in Kansas and California. I had so many of my pants, suits, and shirts fixed by Patty and her team. I've lost some weight over the last three years, and she always finds a way to get my clothes fitting trimmed and streamlined. Patty is so technical that you can hear her teaching her team some new things every time. Her work is always done right and on-time (albeit she does get busy!) My favorite experience was when my wife brought her bridesmaid dress to get fitted. Patty gave it a look and blurted, "what's wrong with your dress?" as in why does it look so off?. She fixed all the lines and it fit so well that my wife got so many compliments during the ceremony (aside from the bride , of course). Whenever you get a suit from a "XX warehourse/bank", try to opt out of getting the fitting at the clothing store and bring it to Patty first. Her work is much better from my experience. She saw fixed lines that their 'expert' tailor missed. Key tip: really express to Patty and her team what you don't like about your clothes. Show her what you think it should look like and then let her tell you her opinion of what can be done....then ALWAYS TRUST PATTY'S OPINION! read more

I signed up for a Yelp account just so I could write a review for Oak Park Tailors because I was so impressed by and appreciative of their work! I procrastinated on purchasing a suit for interviews coming up and struggled to find a tailor who could shorten the sleeves for me for a reasonable price. I didn't realize that a suit jacket that has sleeves with buttons with real buttonholes, an inner lining, and a vent was really difficult to alter...some places I encountered wouldn't even do it! I reviewed multiple shops and called them to see what they would charge, and Oak Park Tailors had by far the most competitive price and some of the best reviews on Yelp. She's so sweet and patient on the phone and is even more so in person! She charged me $24 (plus tax) as a baseline for the alterations, with a 10% rush fee (compared to many other places that charge $10!) and was able to provide the beautifully finished product the NEXT DAY! She mentioned that she has been doing this for 15+ years and has a deal/contract with Dillard's men's suits for alterations, so she definitely knows her stuff! I believe hours of operation are 10a-6p Monday-Friday and also 10a-4p on Saturdays. She accepts credit cards. This is not the tailor shop located inside Oak Park Mall, but it's conveniently located near the intersection of 87th and Quivira (specifically 87th and Halsey). I'll be coming back for all my future alterations and will be sending people her way! read more

Oh, how I love Patty. She has such a talent for alterations. I learned about her from a friend who had used her for her daughter's wedding dress and the mother-of-the-bride dress. She's fixed the seat of several of my husband's pants (and did it much better than the upscale dept store was able to do). She also altered many of his sports coats and suits after some serious weight loss - all are absolutely perfect. I can't say enough good things about Oak Park Tailors - only complaint is that you have to wait approx 2 weeks to get your clothes back - she's busy! read more

Walked in with a half hour to closing time, got right in and pinned up within 5 minutes. I was quoted just over a week for turn around (very fast!) but as I'm a horrible person and this was a bridesmaids dress I'd been meaning to bring in for about a month, I had only a week before the wedding it was for. I have taken 3 bridesmaid dresses to Oak Park Tailors (stop getting married, friends!) to be altered and they have done a fantastic job each time! It is very quick, and always expertly done. One of the dresses was a difficult alteration job- one tailor I went to flat out said she wouldn't do it and another said it would cost $300 (more than triple the cost of the dress-CRAZY!)... Oak park tailors altered this dress perfectly, in one week, for about $40. Amazing!!
