A colleague brought in two of Oak Mill's pear Charlotte cakes for an event: wow! Ringed with ladyfingers and filled with layers of pear and chocolate mousse, this was a unique and delicious cake, and also very light between the sponges and the mousse fillings. In addition to typical baked goods such as cookies, cake pops, fruit tarts, cheesecake and macarons, they also make many Polish baked goods such as rye bread, kolaczki, roshky, kremowki, and paczki. There are also locations in Arlington Heights and Niles in addition to the location on Harlem. Smaczne! read more

Long time ago Oak Mill Bakery was really exceptional, that is not a case anymore. Husband bought me a cake which was really good, but their cheesecake squares were simply awful. It tasted like some sort of glue mixed with who knows what, but definitely not with cheese. The worst part of the experience- they added $ 10.50 -TIP ? Really? a bakery charges the tip nowadays and doesn't even tell the customer about it ? Such a disappointment. read more

I am new to the area and was looking to try something new, The store front is nice and the cakes in the display look amazing. I picked out a cupcake and a few little cookies. The service was nice and they were friendly. The icing on the cupcake although decorated nicely, was definitely not buttercream but most likely made it margarine and the cake part was dry and honestly it as tasteless . I was very disappointed as obviously they have lots of repeat customers and a beautiful display, Maybe I just got the wrong things . read more

Amazing desserts , got a delicious fudge brownie and an assortment of tasty and beautifully decorated tea party desserts

This Bakery is just die for! Their pastries, cakes and bread are literally a work of Art. It is a Polish natured Bakery, but they have it All! The quality is like no other, not overly sweet , just perfect! I've never had chocolate and pastries that hit all the taste buds but wasn't overly done. I recommend this bakery, very Classy. I will be back! read more

I ordered my little brother's birthday cake from here. It was soo good. It was the chocolate cake with raspberry and white chocolate mousse. It was light and similar to the birthday cakes back in my native country. Girls were really nice too. I ordered it online which I like only thing is they have more cakes but not on the online order menu, I wish they had more options on there. Try it out yelpzonians. I have been using this location and I decided that is time to review oak mill bakery. They provide verity of bakery or cake products and those are high quality and delicious. Let time I came by to grubbed birthday cake to celebrate and I was not disappointed. I got one of the available cakes with chocolate and raspberry on the top from display what sals associate recommended. In addition to that order I got small cap cake. I, my family and our gusts were completely satisfied with quality, taste, softness and delicates of the cake. I would recommend this local location for any type of party and any type of bakery needs. The assistants are friendly and helpful during buying process. Very convinced locations with easy excess on Harlem-Lawrence shopping center and plenty of space to park. Try it I hope you will not be disappointed. read more

Went there couple days ago and I am still laughing at one of the girls response when I asked : what kind of cale kids like. Her answer: I don't Know, kids don't come here. Then What in the world are you doing there? Thats a place where moms place orders for kids birthday as well. You should know the popular cake for kids for sure. Train your people there. She continued to be rude though. I gave 2 stars because went there last week and the woman was nice. Otherwise would've been 1. read more

My daughter in law introduced me to this bakery and we have been buying cakes ever since. The cakes are delicious because to me they are light as far as sweetness goes. Absolutely lack of professionalism. I ordered a cake with delivery for 40th birthday party on February 10th 2024. It was supposed to be delivered at 6 pm. It is almost 7pm now, guests are here, but not the cake. The bakery is already closed, voicemail is full. I paid a lot of money for this and now we have birthday party without a cake. It is absolutely bullshit. read more

This was an amazing birthday cake. I ordered this for my moms birthday on a recomendation from a dear friend of mine, Nancy. I actually never thought that the combination of fruit, nuts, chocolate and vanilla pudding in a cake with whipped cream would be this scrumptious. I took a bite and I knew I would be going for a second serving! I highly recommend ordering the "Ambassador Cake" it was sure delightful. I also had it delivered to my house which is super convenient specially now during the pandemic. I will be ordering again soon and can't wait to try their other cakes! read more

Wonderful pastries and cakes that are works of art. The cakes have fillings like mango mousse

I ordered a custom birthday cake via email and when I went to pick up the cake my name was misspelled. What was unexpected was the girl who gave me the cake had the worst customer service attitude. She asked in a defensive tone, "Are you sure it is misspelled? I have never heard of this spelling before." I was stunned and did not know how to respond. What an ignorant and rude way to respond to a mistake. I was more upset with the way she spoke to me rather than the mistake by itself (thank you for the $2 refund by the way). Also, the cake really did not taste good either. Overall, a disappointing experience. I will not be coming back anymore. read more

I have been a life long Chicago resident yet somehow have never had paczki on Fat Tuesday. How I managed this, I don't know. Regardless, I was on a mission this year and based on a friend's recommendation, stopped in here to pick up some jelly filled deliciousness. I expected it to be a madhouse but it wasn't at all and the staff were super friendly. They were all out of the cream cheese filled paczki which was incredibly sad but what can you do? I got paczki filled with apricot, custard, strawberry and strawberry whipped cream. They were all amazing and I might have to stop in again soon to sample some of the other beautiful creations that were on display. read more

I came here for a desert and a cup of coffee. I looked at the Napolean and noticed that the custard was cracked which told me that it must be old. I ordered a rum ball and took notice of the indifferent attitude of the staff. I told her that I would like a cup of coffee also and indicated that I would be eating this at the table there. Again expressionless, she took my money and gave me my change without any thanks. I thought OK no tip for you. Then when I asked for cream for my coffee, I was told "we're out." Well you sure are from now on "you're out!" read more

Long time ago we purchased a birthday cake from this bakery as a gift. Can you imagine how we was surprised when we realized that cake is frozen inside during the party!? Few days ago I decided to take a risk and buy a cake for the party. Again cake was frozen inside and it wasn't ice cream cake. So disappointing. It wasn't product ready for serving. I'm not going to take a risk one more time. It's enough for me. read more

This is my 2nd favorite location- the first one located along Milwaukee ave in Niles, and partly because i havent been to the other locations yet...I guess you can say im particularly fond of the cakes that are made here at this bakery for the ingredients are fresh and the cakes are spot on(although i like sweets sweet) the sweetness level is just right! The cake selection can vary from day to day so if you want a particular cake flavor/variety you should order it in advance which is what i usually do! I have yet to encounter any problems with my order! I think the prices are very reasonable for the portion and pretty much you are paying for presentation! I love the Strawberry Banana custard cake with whip cream! read more

Came in to order a cake and received rude customer service. The worker assisted another customer although I was there beforehand and gave snide looks to me. Will not come back agian. read more

My niece and husband really, really, really wanted to try Paczki Polish sweet treats. I don't know what Fat Tuesday has to do with Paczki sweets, but I guess it is the fact that these are "Fat" Treats. Whatever (oh snap)! There was already a line forming at the front door 30-minutes before opening. I thought "OK, are they giving away free cupcakes today?" No, everyone was lining up to pick up these high-calorie, sugar-loaded sweet treats (not to mention loaded with lots of fat since they are deep fried). I guess a lot of people order these in advance and pick them up super early in the morning. My husband and niece loved the Paczki sweet treats and really enjoyed them. I ordered a half-dozen which is more than enough for two people. I placed an order and got to this small bakery shop 30-minutes before they opened. Wow, a lot of early birds like me were lining up to pick up their Paczki or other sweet treats. I don't do "sweets" so I didn't have any, and took their word that these Paczki treats were awesomeness. My niece and husband both agreed that these are 4-star worthy sweet treats. This bakery is small, but their goodies behind the sparkling clean glass windows were like sweet pieces of fine art work. My niece said her favorite two were the strawberry and cream cheese, while my husband really enjoyed the custard and strawberry. They described them as little puffs of heaven. The employees at this location were very helpful, and despite how busy and crowded the bakery shop was all the employees provided service with a huge smile. This isn't a bakery joint where you can hang-out because it is very, very small. This place is no where near our home-base, but ordering and picking up those Paczki sweets for my two favorite people made it priceless. I didn't mind the drive. I recommend this bakery shop if (a) you live close to this joint (b) are looking to order Eurpean sweet treats. The price-point here varies -- depending on what you order -- however, the final cost for six these Polish Paczki treats were definitely worthy of 5-stars. Sweet Baby Jesus, come to mama! The parking lot is large. This bakery shop is located in a strip mall with a grocery store by the name of Rich's Grocery & Liquors. There is also an Office Max, a Hair Cuttery and an Italian restaurant a few doors away from the Oak Mill Bakery. Service was efficient, hospitable and kind. I was in and out in under 15-minutes. Bada-bing, Bada-Boom-Boom! read more

I'd always meant to try the original up on Milwaukee ave., but never managed. So when we ended up outside the bakery, almost by accident, I suggested we stop and see what it was like. I was under the impression that the original is a German bakery, but this particular satellite shop is heavily weighted towards Polish customers (this is a very Polish/Eastern European area.) The gals behind the counter all spoke Polish as did all the customers but us, and a lot of the pastries apparently have a Polish origin or twist. We opted for a pumpkin pie, more out of deference to the fact that we were on our way home to decorate the house for Halloween, and a plum, apricot and cheese kuchen. There were dozens of things which looked good but we couldn't buy everything. The pie was good, not great, and the whipped cream was heavily stabilized so it had that solid, rather oily quality you get with cream treated in that manner. The kuchen was excellent. Nothing on it was too sweet, so that the flavor of the fruit really came through. I thought it was a bit pricey for what we got, but I'm not going to complain because it was that good. I noticed that they had a "day old" section, though we didn't explore it. And there were tables set up for anyone who wanted to enjoy a pastry right there in the shop. I didn't notice any coffee or tea, but then I wasn't really looking for any since we'd just finished brunch. The sales clerks were pleasant enough, and willing to explain what things were to us non-Poles. No problems with the service. I can't say it's the best bakery I've ever been to, but it's a good, solid place with very nice pastry, and I look forward to trying it again. read more

Horrible experience. Ordered a cake for a Girl Scout Gold Award ceremony. Frosting and edging was suppose to be yellow. It was ORANGE. The Girl Scout trefoil was on the cake UPSIDEDOWN. Would not have been so bad but the invitation was attached for an example to follow. When i called they told.me they would.give me a store credit for 25 dollars and NO MORE. No manager, no owner since thy make whomever answer thenphone to be the sounding board. They even confirmed that they saw the information. She said the scanner chanes pictures. There are two fundamental problems with this bakery. #1...perhaps the most important...is that the pastries are HORRIBLE! They taste terrible and i will never return here for that reason. #2, the prices are outrageous! I could not believe they charged so much money for small pastries that taste disgusting. If you have anywhere else to go for baked goods, do it. Oak Mill is bound to disappoint!!! Yuck. A representative from Oak Mill contacted me to suggest that perhaps I didn't like the pastries because they are European. I am 100% Polish and have been eating Europeans and Polish pastries my entire life. These were simply disgusting...there was nothing redeemable! The worst part was Oak Mill's response...incapable of accepting any blame. Ick! read more

Worst experience I have ever had. I waited 10 minutes to be assisted while employees walked around. I had to ask an employee to help me. Then I the employee asked me what I wanted and barely had any customer service skills. She finally threw the paczki in the box and then proceeded to tell me she didn't have a bag for me when there were bags in plain eyesight. When I asked to speak to a manager I heard laughing in the back and I was told the manager was not on duty. When I finally made it home to enjoy my paczki, they were not fresh and a waste of time and money. I will never go there ever again. I do not recommend this bakery at all. read more

This bakery is my in-laws' go to for birthday cakes so I've sampled quite a bit. My absolute favorite is their pear cake. The others are good but this one blows me away every time. All I can say is AMAZING!! Ive always been a fan of Oak Mill Bakery's pastries since I've moved to Chicago. So it was not a hard decision as to who my husband and I were going to select for our cake and sweet table on our special day. The chocolate they use is "top of the line" European Chocolate. Only the best, and it shows once you taste a truffle. Not only was the Chocolate superb but the passion fruit wedding cake was unreal. I couldn't eat enough of it. If you are planning a wedding make sure to also splurge and opt for the sweet table. You will not be disappointed. Our guests are still talking about it. We had everything from White Chocolate swans filled with berries to individual dipped strawberries and small tasters along with a coffee station. It was a table of deliciousness and we fully enjoyed it. Thank you for the great sweets Oak Mill. It was wonderful! read more
