Upon arrival parking was tight and inside was packed, good sign. We were told to give them a minute that they were busy but would accommodate us. We were seated outside after the table was dried off for us. It had been raining earlier. Outside was large and spacey with tables and couch along with tv and some toys for the kids. Service was slow and received numerous apologies along with the excuse they were super busy. They have a good selection of local draft beers. We ordered kids food immediately along with 3 drafts, 2 waters and 2 cokes. Drinks came after a few minutes. Kids food came after probably 20 min or so, kids cheese pizza was piping hot along with kids chicken tenders and fries. Kids cheese pizza was phenomenal. Kids chicken tenders and fries were terrible. Fries were completely over cooked and greasy. Tenders weren't over cooked but greasy and the cheap frozen kind. Service was slow on beer orders and we received the same excuse they were busy. Appeared to only be two middle aged men working. Received a plate of Italian bread and marinara. Both were good, marinara was superb imo. Placed an app order of cheese sticks with our main order and I ordered a house side salad. The cheese sticks and salad came out with the main order. The cheese sticks were substandard and frozen. The house salad dressing was phenomenal and I enjoyed the pecans and roasted peppers. I had the wings, they looked amazing when we first walked in. They were good, not as delicious as I was expecting. The garlic parm was way better than regular buffalo. Parents had a half and half supreme and pepperoni pizza hold onions. The supreme side was lacking peppers. Pepperoni side was good. GF had the Cabrese pizza. It was skimp on chicken but had a decent flavor. Bathroom was small but accommodating considering it's a bar/pizzeria. All in all I gave 3 stars because we were forgot about at times while we were seated outside by ourselves. We had to ask for replacement beers and still were forgotten about. Plus each time we were told the same excuse "we're really busy", but the place cleared out long before we got our food. I will give it another go but will definitely avoid the fried food choices due to poor quality food and stale tasting grease. The outside area for kids was a plus because we all know how toddlers can be.

Franklinton is my hometown first and foremost. Since I moved to Virginia 10 years ago, the only…read moretime I travel here is during Christmas time to visit family. Over the last few years, local businesses have opened up paving the way for more choices, which is way better than when I was coming up. I actually wanted to stop by here and give them a shot last year after viewing their page on Facebook and with friends of mine posting on their feeds, but I came at a time where they may have been closed (don't remember honestly). Now, I finally had the chance to check them out. Calling for takeout was pretty simple. Place your order via phone and they'll let you know how long it'll be ready. My order was the Wild Hog pizza which consists of Sweet BBQ sauce, ham, sausage, bacon and mozarella cheese. Also, they had their custard flavor of the week. Given this is the last week of 2021, how better to top it off with Celebration Cake custard. So I requested one scoop. 15 minutes later, pick it up via drive-thru window. Again, easy and simple. From the first bite to the last, I can say I'm impressed. The pizza was done just right. Medium sized, which you can finish in one setting. And I like the fact that this pizza had equal toppings and cheese which equal the size of the crust. Very important for any pizza lover out there. And the custard.....flavorful indeed. Just like eating an actual piece of cake. I truly enjoyed this meal from start to finish. Needless to say, I am glad Franklinton has a spot that is fresh and one that can continue to grow. And I am also happy to say you have a fan in myself. Keep it up!

Title: Concern About a Customer Service Interaction at Pizza Platoon…read more My son and I have been frequent customers of Pizza Platoon in Slidell, Louisiana. We have generally enjoyed the food, particularly our usual cheese pizza with basil, and have had positive experiences with the staff. As a retired Navy Chief with 22 years of service, I have also valued supporting veteran-owned businesses. During a recent visit, an employee I believe is named Seth, who appeared to have a management role, became involved in a transaction another employee was handling. He explained that my usual order would be considered two toppings. Although I initially did not understand the explanation, I stated several times that I was willing to pay the additional charge. The discussion continued, and I was told that I could be asked to leave the establishment. I found this response disproportionate because I had acknowledged the charge and agreed to pay it. I also felt that the interaction could have been handled more calmly and professionally. Because of the employee's tone and the way the conversation unfolded, I asked whether the interaction had been recorded so that the owners could review the available camera footage and audio, if any. As a Black woman, I left the encounter feeling singled out and uncomfortable. I cannot speak to the employee's intent, but I can describe the impact of the interaction and the way it was handled. I am requesting an opportunity to speak directly with the owners. I would appreciate their reviewing any available footage and addressing whether the interaction was consistent with the business's customer service standards. This was not about the cost of an additional topping. It was about how the situation was communicated and the decision to threaten removal after I had agreed to pay. My son and I have appreciated our previous experiences at Pizza Platoon, but this incident has affected our willingness to return. I hope the owners will take the concern seriously and use it as an opportunity to reinforce respectful, professional communication with all customers.

But at the end of the day the only real problem was a group of local 40-somethings on TRT with their 3 pit bulls who were camping together in a group of 6. They basically hung out all day in lawn chairs getting hammered in the driveway section of their site (directly across from our site) basically just being d**ks. (there needs to be some sort of rule about pit bull kennels operating in a campsite)... But after they left, this RV campground became more calm and worth exploring and enjoying. There is a small lazy river, a large pool and a poolside bar. There is also a decent workout room available 24/7. The lakeside location of several camp sites was the draw for us, as was the evening entertainment while enjoying a few drinks. The campsites are all immaculate full hookup with excellent concrete pads. There are both back in and pull-throughs to accommodate most size rigs. It's only about an hour to New Orleans, so a sight-seeing trip there is easy to do. Very convenient to the I-10. Glad we stayed and we'd likely stay again when passing through.

However, our cabin unit was dirty upon check-in, delivered linens had dead bugs, kitchen and beds had live ants, and there was visible mold in the living room. Our toddler has severe allergies and I am pregnant...so our concerns were warranted. Upon reporting the issues, front desk was not apologetic or seem to take the comments seriously...therefore we are disappointed considering the rental was $1150 for 3 nights and would recommend overall improvements in cleanliness.
