Our must stop casual atmosphere pizza place on road trips passing Louisiana! Gluten free crust is yummy and they take allergies seriously. Normally customer service is good, but this last time was sad to see it lacking. We waited 10 minutes before ordering due to all three staff working on mobile orders while talking to each other instead of greeting. When I mentioned my gluten allergy they questioned if it was really an allergy and not a preference so they didn't have to go to the back to make it with separate ingredients. The pizza was good but unfortunately during a recent visit 2/20/26 they've increased the price of a 10 inch pizza to 15.75 if you choose 7 to 10 toppings after a basic tip itax your looking at almost 20 dollars for the pizza. I personally think that's too much, nothing special about the dough or the cooking method. It was a place I've gone to when in Slidell always, because I liked the Pizza. This is exactly one of those places you want to find. A good build your own pizza place that makes a quality pie, and the service is exceptionally fast. But let's go back a little bit, I took a railroad crew to New Orleans, and was starving, so this is what I found. I didn't have high expectations, being located at a large shopping center, but my perception was about to be challenged. I walked in, and the first surprise was how pro-veteran and military service they are. I love how they keep a place setting open to honor the Fallen Soldier. Very classy! I ordered a 2 topping pizza, and settled on pepperoni and pineapple, as it's a combo I enjoy. The staff quickly assembled the pizza and showed it to me before throwing it into the oven. It looked delicious, so it got my approval. I paid for the pizza and a drink, and chose a table to wait for the pizza, which was handed to me in a few minutes time. So fast! I opened the box and the pleasing aroma of the pizza overtook me, as it was piping hot. After letting it cool a bit, I ate a slice, which all of the ingredients tasted fresh, and the crust was flavorful and crispy. The fountain coke was a perfect compliment to the amazing pizza! I've been here dozens of times but today was not good. There was a woman and a gentleman working 9/10 on a closing shift making the pizzas and the woman had a very poor attitude & made the pizza like she had better things to do and wasn't at work. She threw the toppings on and didn't even spread them out. I felt like I was in a fast food joint. She should be retrained or talked to because as many times as I've been here this is unbelievable. I heard a lot about this spot so we had to check it out. The location is great, they have an end spot in the town centre so you don't have to try and figure out where they are. For some reason I thought that this was a chain restaurant.  I am pleased to say that I was wrong, that this is a locally-owned business with only one location (as of this review).  This is fast-casual, Subway-style pizza, by which I mean you can order a pre-designed pizza from the menu or you can build your own by walking down the counter and pointing out which components you want.  The restaurant has a strong military theme and sends some of their proceeds to military-related philanthropies. Flavor-wise I'd say they lack a crust topper, but otherwise are on par with major pizza chains.  Their standard pizza size is 10 inches, making them smaller than the major chains' medium pizzas, and because they're not a chain they're also more expensive.  Unlike most pizza chains these days, they do have plenty of dine-in seating. I will note that the toppings on one of the two pizzas I ordered ended up sliding to one side.  Since it didn't happen to both pizzas, and I stacked the boxes and treated them the same, I'm inclined to think it happened when the pizza was initially put in the box.  Probably a fluke, but best to check your pizza before you leave just in case. I'm late to writing this review, and now the Covid-19 coronavirus is going around and shutting places down.  Along with offering curbside service, Pizza Platoon organized a sort of donation event on Facebook that resulted in them bringing two loads of pizza to hospital workers.  Quite commendable. read more

My family and I were here the other night before closing and were treated horribly. I'm guessing because they were closing down the guy decides to slam the pizza pans in front of us in disdain while looking at us in pure disgust. It's our first time - driving through town on our way home from Baton Rogue to Georgia - we needed a kid friendly lunch that wasn't the typical fair... this place is a winner! Budget friendly prices allowed us to get everyone exactly what they wanted. "I just love this pizza" and "I love it!!!" from the kids. (Notice they could t wait for pictures!) I appreciate all the options at this place. The menu is fairly deep and the different crust options are what inspired us to try this place. Gluten free, low carb and keto people will rejoice! Restaurant is clean and cute--lots of military photos and memorabilia. Self serve sodas and bus your own tables. My husband and I split a pizza and salad. Pizza was good--a little light on toppings. Salad wanted to be good. Greens we're fresh and varied. Our salami was ok, the bacon was mostly globular pieces of uncooked/undercooked fat and the other toppings were really hard to find (mozzarella cheese and red onion). Afterwards, they placed the pizza in the conveyor belt oven and it took about 5 minutes or less for it to cook. The pizza crust was good because the dough was fresh. The ingredients were of adequate quality. The pizza held together well on every bite. They run a nice business here. The concept is similar to fast food but so much better. I spent a little under $10 for an 8 inch pizza and a drink but felt far more satisfied than any other fast food restaurant that I have eaten at. This place is not trying to compete with any high end, sit down pizza places that charge $30 for a loaded, large pizza. It does compete with the fast food restaurants and franchise pizza places and does it very well. Tried this place for the first time recently & overall, I like the concept. You build your pizza and it goes into the oven and slides out 6-8 minutes later. Options are plentiful, but after that, the experience falls flat. Most tables had chairs put up (this was a busy shopping night before Christmas), floor didn't seem clean, overall decor is displayed way too high making for a cold feeling space and there's zero service after you walk to pick up your own pizza from the counter. I really live the concept. The ability to walk in, pick out your own toppings, and have the pizza come out in a few minutes. The restaurant staff is nice, and you have the option to purchase wine, or beer. The pizza is subpar, though. It's a good place to stop by for a quick bite if you're on lunch break.
