I've been eating at Sal and Judy's since discovering it in 1976 while working in the area. Long…read moreafter moving away to various other places, I always made an effort to stop in to enjoy a great meal whenever I passed through the area. Initially, I ordered only the brucioloni ( braciole) as that is an Italian favorite rarely found in restaurants. But as the years went by, I checked out some of their other offerings, all expertly prepared. Veal chop, veal pane, lamb chops, and spaghetti aglio olio with homemade Italian sausages. You get a wonderful dinner salad, seemingly endless loaves of fresh baked Italian bread and depending on your order, other sides. Pasta portions are generous. Cocktails are great especially the sazerac, and there is a good variety of wines to choose from. Desserts are good too, especially the homemade. Service has always been good, from the bartender and maitre'd, down to whichever server you end up getting. Many employees have been working there a long time which is a testament to a well-run restaurant. During the course of the evening, Sal himself will likely stop by your table to ensure you are satisfied. The restaurant itself is classy, a white tablecloth kind of place where many patrons dress up for the occasion. But shorts are OK too. I highly recommend eating here when on the north shore. I've never left hungry or dissatisfied in any way.

It was very crowded and we had to wait a little bit longer than our reservation time but that was okay because we sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks before our dinner. The bartender was great and very friendly. We ordered some Alfredo and stuffed Artichoke wow. We went to Rome two years ago and at at Alfredo's that claim to be the birth place of Alfredo sauce and we loved it. This was just as good. The noodles were delicious and fresh the sauce was very good too. The wife loved her artichoke. For our meal I had the Braciole first time ever and it was fantastic my wife had the veal lasagna and she loved it. The house salads were amazing flavor and we finished with ice cream with amaretto and cool whip and bourbon pecan pie with ice cream. So much food left over. A true Italian restaurant. Atmosphere was loud and friendly and everyone having a great time visiting and enjoying themselves over a great meal . The way it was meant to be. If you are looking for that quiet romantic atmosphere this is not it. If family and great food is what you want then this is a must go to place. Located in a beautifully repurposed home in downtown Covington, this charming spot exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and promptly shown to our table in one of the restaurant's small but thoughtfully decorated dining rooms. We started with the house-made whipped ricotta at our server's suggestion. Lightly topped with rosemary honey and served with grilled ciabatta, it was absolutely delicious. For our entrées, my wife ordered the Chicken Molli while I chose the Pork Cheek Marsala. Both dishes were phenomenal. Unfortunately, we didn't save room for dessert, so I guess we'll just have to return, which I'm sure won't disappoint my wife in the slightest. When we received the bill we were both surprised because we had expected it to be significantly higher than it was based on the service and quality of the food. The attentive staff, inviting atmosphere, and excellent food all help make this place stand out. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Marcello's has an upscale, yet very comfortable, persona and excellent service that combined for an elegant dining experience. Before dinner cocktails were refreshing and we then enjoyed Caesar salad and tomato basil soup before our main courses of chicken parmigiana and chicken molli, both of which were tasty in a traditional way. A tasty cannoli followed up. My wife enjoyed a Pinot Grigio with dinner, and I a very full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, which was the chef's evening's special recommendation. Marcello's has our recommendation for a special night out.

I'm gluten-intolerant and thought the menu would be pasta, pasta and more pasta. Not the case! Our server, Shelby, helped me find a few really good choices and I went with the fish and grits (called something else on the menu). It was outstanding. Rich but not too rich. Large enough portion that I took half home. One friend had the fried chicken and raved about it. (Order early because it takes time.) Another had fried cheese ravioli Several had the Mac and cheese and everybody raved about their dishes. Took home some seafood-stuffed cornbread for my husband. The atmosphere adds to the experience. It's right in the heart of Historic Downtown Covington at the trailhead with huge windows and natural light. Really lovely! They were crowded (on a Tuesday night) but the service was great and the owner popped by several times to check that everything was okay. Already planning a return trip with my husband!

Good. Got. Y'all…read more RARELY do I give 5 stars. Joe greets us at the door on our maiden visit at the back side of lunch hour on a Wednesday. So inviting, welcoming, and humble. Seated, we are presented with warm rolls and our waitress Molly who has reminded us of the definition of exceptional service. From the wine suggestion, to our apps, entree and dessert, her recommendations were spot on (more on that to come). We wanted to sample as much as feasibly possible, so we started with stuffed mushrooms and calamari. The calamari was fine - just the right chew with a delicate fry coating. But the mushrooms... seriously. Five cremini caps with a perfect balance of crab filling topped with what appears to be a dual purpose spinach dip, in all the best ways. To enjoy both, go for the mushrooms. Entrees: my hubs order much spaghetti and meatballs, which was lovely. But. I ordered the Veal Romona, at the approval of Molly and proved to be absolutely delightful on So... Many.. Levels. Beautifully cooked fried veal cutlet I could cut with my butter knife, lovely tomato-cream sauce with a perfect spice, onion, pepper balance. Tears tickled the corners on my eyes as I just had to take it all in, even before I made my way into the angel hair. Since we drove over from AL and still have the trip back after our meal (and a couple of glasses Sauvignon Blanc) Inasked about dessert and coffee. Molly came through again... you definitely to do what I did and order the cheesecake with caramel-chocolate drizzle... make sure to order the "cheesecake - Molly-fied". This has been a long standing establishment in a previous location but only recently acquired the current space within the past couple of months, locally owned, and absolutely exceptional in every way in this day and age where eating out in this economy is hit-or-miss. You will NOT miss by choosing here... again, rarely does a place hit all five stars for me - atmosphere, hospital vibe as if being a welcomed guest in someone's home, locally owned, superb wait staff, and food quality. If you are reading this as you are deciding where to go - you found it; do it. DO IT!

I had the Linguine Del Mar, which comes with a small salad. And it was so yummy! It also looked amazing. I also asked for my water to be put in a wine glass and my waitress was happy to do it. Bread was brought to my table right before my food came out, which I appreciated. The portions are pretty big, so I took the rest of the meal home with me. I ordered a cannoli to go, and didn't expect it to have chocolate drizzled on it but it was a good combination. I'll definitely be returning to Joe's!

I typically go here every year for my birthday and then we typically make it back another time or two throughout the year. I always get the pork chop, as you can tell from the photos I uploaded which are all from different visits. The menu here is always changing which can sometimes be a bad thing however, all the new items and different preparations of the main stays are always delicious. The only bad thing about a menu that changes is your favorite dish may not always be available. Luckily, at this place trying something new typically pays off. I have only gotten something other than pork chop once and it was a braised beef dish, which was great. My Wife typically gets a pasta dish which is always fantastic. We typically try a new app or two along with a salad. Their salads are always changing but the flavor combinations they come up with are awesome. We had a salad one time with Gorgonzola, apple, shallot, candied pecans and a vinaigrette that was one of the best salads we ever had. Their desserts also change and some of them are seasonal. One visit they had a pistachio cheesecake available, which was 10/10. Last year their seasonal sorbet was muscadine, also 10/10. Their wine selection is great and the service is always the best! Food critics typically say a restaurant that gets a 9 out of 10 or higher is worth more than an hour long wait or drive that is a few hours. This place hits that mark for my Wife and I.
