We have generally enjoyed the food, particularly our usual cheese pizza with basil, and have had positive experiences with the staff. As a retired Navy Chief with 22 years of service, I have also valued supporting veteran-owned businesses. During a recent visit, an employee I believe is named Seth, who appeared to have a management role, became involved in a transaction another employee was handling. He explained that my usual order would be considered two toppings. Although I initially did not understand the explanation, I stated several times that I was willing to pay the additional charge. The discussion continued, and I was told that I could be asked to leave the establishment. I found this response disproportionate because I had acknowledged the charge and agreed to pay it. I also felt that the interaction could have been handled more calmly and professionally. Because of the employee's tone and the way the conversation unfolded, I asked whether the interaction had been recorded so that the owners could review the available camera footage and audio, if any. As a Black woman, I left the encounter feeling singled out and uncomfortable. I cannot speak to the employee's intent, but I can describe the impact of the interaction and the way it was handled. I am requesting an opportunity to speak directly with the owners. I would appreciate their reviewing any available footage and addressing whether the interaction was consistent with the business's customer service standards. This was not about the cost of an additional topping. It was about how the situation was communicated and the decision to threaten removal after I had agreed to pay. My son and I have appreciated our previous experiences at Pizza Platoon, but this incident has affected our willingness to return. I hope the owners will take the concern seriously and use it as an opportunity to reinforce respectful, professional communication with all customers.

Spoiler alert I like cigars and bourbon and Whiskey and Ashe exceeded my expectations. They have a wall of bourbon and rye plus and additional spirits and beer for non-brown liquor drinkers. since we were the only ones in the bar our bartender took excellent care of us. We had many samples and the local Louisiana Seven Three Distillery rye was one of my favorites. If you want a smoke they have a fully stocked humidor and cigar specials. There is a very comfortable outside area with TVs. We all agreed that if Whiskey and Ashe were in our area, we would live here! Since we were ride sharing we spent the afternoon here, ordered food from next door and shared it with our bartender/bourbon guide. Plus one is now a bourbon drinker (sort of) as she was introduced to a bourbon espresso martini. Wow, it was delicious.!
