We were immediately seated. The beer selection was typical for a Mexican restaurant in the United States. Menus, water and chips were brought out immediately. Sadly these reviews keep dropping a star. Recently returned to this local restaurant and was not…read moreexpecting what we received. Honestly, it's nothing like the restaurant I was the first to review a couple years or so ago. Nothing here is the same except the peach margaritas. The food was a complete let down. No idea who is in the kitchen now but none of my usual favs here tasted the same. I didn't recognize and didn't eat the Carnitas. This was a serious disappointment. I literally had no idea what this was when I tasted it. Not carnitas. The enchiladas were also not good at all. But I managed to eat the meat inside, as I needed to eat something. The staff was more interested in looking at their phones and talking to each other at the bar than service. However our Server was friendly. It's clear that this location needs its old chef, and old staff back. The ones who made great food, and gave extremely good service. The ones that made you feel welcomed and at home as soon as you entered the door. Otherwise, this is a waste of their time and the customers. Honestly, if I had the heart to completely give up on this local favorite, I would have given them 1 star. But I'm hoping they can bring it back.

I saw the sign for Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. When I went inside, I was met with a smiling waiter who took me to my table. It took me a few moments to narrow down my selection and when the waiter came for my order, I had 3 items I couldn't decide on. It was either fajitas, arroz con pollo or huevos con chorizo. I told him what I was interested in and he said to go with the arroz con pollo because there is chicken, veggies and rice, it has everything. My waiter, Phillpe, was so right in suggesting that dish. When it came out, it was amazing. The chicken was loaded with all kinds of sautéed veggies on top with a side of rice, sour cream and guacamole. He was spot on. This dish was amazing. The chicken was so flavorful, the veggies were moist and perfect. I took leftovers home and had them for dinner the next evening. If you do not try this place, it would be a mistake. This place was so colorful as you would expect it to be. For me having a knowledgeable waiter is so very helpful when you can't quite decide what to eat. I was so glad I stopped in to try this place.
