Made reservations on a whim with my in laws and we were beyond pleased. I grew up near a small German restaurant that sadly I live too far from now.. but Oak Chalet was absolutely everything I've been missing and then some. The decor and ambiance was perfect - like a time warp with just the right amount of "modern" tied in. The food was authentic and fresh- we still talk about the freshness of the pretzel and how perfectly cooked the meats and potato pancakes were. We were a big group WITH kids and had such a lovely experience. Will certainly be returning very soon.

So happy to have a little German place like this locally. Been in Bellmore for about 3 years now and have run past Oak Chalet a few times. Finally visited last night and was blown away by the atmosphere, service, food and everything in between. We had a reservation, and would highly recommend as the place is busy. The ambiance reminds me of my grandparents house. We had some potato pancakes, spaetzel and the pretzel for apps, which were all incredible. Might have been the best soft pretzel I've ever had. For dinner, I ordered the Jaegerschnitzel and was so impressed by both taste and presentation. Wife ordered the breaded chicken cutlet and loved it. Only wish the parking lot was a bit bigger, but absolutely a testament to it's popularity.

I didn't realize how close this restaurant was to my house. This is wonderful restaurant for German food. I had the Wienerschnitzel when I was in Austria I was curious how it would compare this restaurants Wienerschnitzel I was pleasantly surprised it was very similar very tender not deep fried like I had in other German American restaurants. It came with 2 potato pancakes with delicious apple sauce and a side of vegetables. The atmosphere was very cozy and our server was very attentive .

I was in the mood for German food because of all the Oktoberfest ads I have been seeing EVERYWHERE, and since I'm now a long islander via queens, I had to find a new German spot closer to home. The oak chalet in bellmore is in a residential area and has super cute curb appeal with a good amount of parking. When you walk inside you feel like you are in a german bar, and the staff is very accommodating and nice. I had a hofbrau beer and my hubby did the mixed beer (light and dark). We skipped apps because we knew the entrees would be huge. For dinner I got the goulash with spaetzle which was a generous portion. I enjoyed the meal, but be forewarned- it's a lot of meat. My hubby got the jagerschnitzel which was fantastic and came with a side of red cabbage (amazing) and potato pancakes. The potato pancakes also came with a side of applesauce that was awesome. For dessert we had the Black Forest cake with ice cream. Overall a really nice place and had a great meal.

Amazing German food and great service! The outdoor seating is great! It's under a tent with nice lighting, decorations and music. And even though you are seated outside the service is nothing less than exceptional. our water was constantly being refilled and the food was brought out quickly. I ordered the goulash with spaetzle. The spaetzle comes out plain but when it's mixed with the sauce from the goulash it's super good. Overall it was a great experience with authentic German food. I also really appreciate that it's a locally owned business. Perfect place for a date night or some time out with your family.

Finally, I made it to the Oak Chalet. It was delicious. Had the chicken jaegerschnitzel with potato pancakes and spaetzel. Everything was delicious. Finished off with a piece of apple strudel. The strudel was probably the best I ever had.

This is a nice little pub and bar in Atlantic Beach just outside of Long Beach, NY. We went here after visiting the Irish festival for the weekend. We decided to get dinner here and chill and enjoy the live entertainment that was outside. When we walked in, we were seated right away. Our waitress was very professional in taking our orders and making sure we got everything we asked for. She checked in on the table in a timely manner too. I ordered the crispy pork, my wife had the cod sandwich, and my friend had a sandwich as well. All the food was fresh and cooked just right. Everything was delicious too. We were very happy with our food. It is a little on the pricier side, but it's definitely worth the price you pay. This is a German food must stop place. If you're ever visiting Long Island, NY, definitely scope this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Visit Date: October 1, 2025…read more Even though I don't drink alcohol I fell into a facebook group that my boyfriend belonged to when we first started dating called 8 O'Clock Shot. The people in the group are cool about me drinking coffee, OJ & Seltzer and N/A beers and I'm cool with the fact that they drink, overall they're a pretty good group of people. Last night Tom Perrone a member of 8OCS hosted his first ever vinyl night in Nassau County at Prost. Usually he hosts Vinyl nights in Patchogue at TwoMorrow's Pub. Sometimes he'll host other vinyl nights or afternoons at different locations. So my boyfriend and I were able to go. One of the good things I appreciate about Prost is that it's a bar/restaurant. So if there's something going on and I need to bring my son I'm safely able to do so. I wouldn't bring my 9 year old to just a bar but if it's a bar/restaurant there's nothing wrong with bringing him if I had to. We didn't get a chance to have any food, maybe one day on one of our future visits we will. I had an OJ & Seltzer and a Clausthaler N/A beer. My go to N/A beer for drinking at home has been Athletic Brewery N/A beer but I had a Clausthaler once before at the American Hotel Bar in Sayville and Clausthaler is a good flavorful N/A beer. My boyfriend chose to have a liter of Miller Lite I think. Hanging at Prost was a good time, one of the bars in Garden City that I would suggest checking out!

5-Stars it is!! *…read moreCASH ONLY- they have ATM on premise but cash is king! * Make reservations- we had reservations for 7p- but moved it to 5p and glad we did- this little spot fills up fast *BYOB Hubby and I came here to see what all the rave reviews were about and were immediately greeted warmly and with a smile, seated and given menus with an explanation of the specials. We started off with appetizers- which are really great for sharing- perogies for the Hubby and I had the liver dumpling soup- both were fantastic. Hubby had the German mixed salad with his meal, the special was sausage with both chicken and pork Schnitzel and potatoes, I had the sauerbraten with potatoes and we both had a side of the sauerkraut. We took a To-Go of the stuffed chicken breast with mozzarella and spinach and soup, with broccoli and an order of perogies. 2 Root beers, and he had the apple strudel and I ordered the Bienenstich. Our server was Karen- I want to give a huge thank you to her, she was an absolute delight, sweet, friendly and made sure our dinner was perfect, she is wonderful and next time we come for dinner, we hope she is our waitress. Food was incredible, I have not had "family" style German food in probably 13 years if not longer- I used to eat all the time at Alpine Village in Torrance Ca and at Phoenix Club in Brea Ca- both I was a long time foodie at, and never had a bad meal! It is so great to know that Sebastian's is our new place for delicious German food. Dinner for the 3 was roughly $180.00, but before you say "that's a lot", the food is delicious, the wait staff is amazing and both my husband and I gladly pay good money for fantastic food, like what we had here at Sebastian's.

CASH ONLY CASH ONLY…read moreCASH ONLY CASH ONLY Did I mention CASH ONLY So we are thinking about getting Christmas Eve dinner catered from here, so we tried it out yesterday. There was a decent amount of confusion and dialect disconnect, but I believe they have most of their regular menu available. We also ordered a bunch of different items to taste test and we were extremely happy! Let me get into my issue... At no point until I walked into the restaurant, did they mention cash only, oh and check! They take checks! But they never list if on ther website, or any social media sites. They do not mention it over the phone either... so I walk in expecting to pay with card and wham. CASH ONLY... They do have an ATM on site, but to use it, you need an ATM card or a pin on your CC, which I did not have. My FiL had to meet me half way back with cash so I could pay. I really wish they post it online or somewhere people can see before walking in.... I had half a mind to cancel lol! Well that's my gripe! Ordering food, there was a slight language barrier as well. But all in all, it went OK. The lot needs better lighting and or a sign that points to the main entrance. We walked the wrong way and ended up at tables and chairs in storage.... It is very very very homey inside. Very homey. It feels like Oma's living room. With Hummel and biersteins everywhere, and it mean everywhere! Do not bring young kids here lol! It does look nice though! Must but nightmare to dust... Service is unique, the owner was trying to make small talk, and this is after my cash issue, I was kind of zoned out... also had 2 kids that were surprisingly behaving! I got super lucky with that lol! I was able to pay cash and he threw in a few items for free, he gave me a potato soup and a Rahm sauce. Brought the food home and feasted! I got the triple schnitzel combo with Veal, pork, chicken. All were delicious, I like the brown gravy (which had a nice tang) as well as the Rahm sauce with it. By itself it was good, I think they do it more Italian style with only breadcrumbs and no flour, but it was still good. The Veal was the best, but small! The other 2 were very good! I subbed mash for home fries which had sautéed onions and were a great touch, but it needed salt. The sauce helped! I also got a side or spaetzle, which were good but needed sauce and or salt, and did not have much seasoning. But that is German food... I'm not saying its bland, but its sauce heavy! Perogies were absolutely killer! I want a tray lol! Great filling, super soft, great taste! Wife and FiL had the chicken cordon blue, and they were huge!!! They were delicious, but even better with the Rahm sauce. I need a gallon of it lol! Wife liked the Red cabbage, I enjoyed it as well, great flavor. I personally like it sweeter. FiL had the mash and like it. I also got Linzer Tarts which disappeared very quickly lol! Everyone enjoyed them! All in all a great meal, I wish they'd let you know cash only... we look forward to getting catering on Christmas Eve!

They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and serving up amazing meals at each. Choose from 5 different gravies and then your schnitzel. Traditionally served with pork or veal, but they do have chicken or eggplant as well! I went with the classic Weinershnitzel which is traditionally served with veal schnitzel and served with brown gravy. Lindsey got the Chicken Rahmschnitzel which is schnitzel topped with a creamy white reisling-infused mushroom gravy. Both were filled with flavor and we were very impressed! All schnitzel is served with spätzle, seasonal vegetables, and red cabbage. This was the definition of a comfort meal that. We started with their Bavarian Cheese Board, and classic German appetizers - potatoes pancakes paired with this insane apple butter, and potato dumplings with your choice of gravy. I had a group dinner here for my parents and my boyfriend's mother to meet for the first time. This is perhaps not the perfect location for this type of thing, as it was extremely loud in the restaurant. Despite being very busy, the hostess made sure we had a comfortable table to sit at and were not too cramped. As expected, the beer selection is great and I enjoyed my Berliner Weisse very much. I ordered the goulash and kasespaetzle. The goulash was rich, well seasoned and filling. The spaetzle was soft and creamy, covered in lots of flavorful aged cheese with salty bacon bits and sweet onion. A very rich dish. Although I didn't technically order an entree, I still found myself pleasantly full at the end of the meal. The rest of my dining companions ordered either the schnitzel or the wurstplatte.
