We went Saturday night. Restaurant is very comfy. I had the pork shanks. It actually fell right off the bone. Totally delicious. The gravy was very tasteful not salty. We had some kind of punch drink that was over the top. Definitely my place to go. By the way our waitress and all the staff are very welcoming read more

Another fantastic experience, thank you Noelle! What a great meal- what great service! It's wonderful to have a place whose plates are so consistent! Just excellent overall! read more

I went to Long Beach with my friend we drove past this place and she loves trying German places. So we came in and I am glad we did we shared the platter. I would definitely recommend this dish because it had a little bit of everything. I also had the grapefruit beer which was good. The service was great, the waitress was very friendly. The pretzels were good and so was the sausage. Overall a great experience and yes I would come back to try other things on the menu but I would also be open to trying new restaurants in the area. My friend ordered the spaetzle and it was ok, it needed to be sautéed so it could have a little crisp. read more

I've been here a few times while visiting my friend in Long Island. We've gone here before, so I figured I'd give my take on it. This is a nice little pub and bar in Atlantic Beach just outside of Long Beach, NY. We went here after visiting the Irish festival for the weekend. We decided to get dinner here and chill and enjoy the live entertainment that was outside. When we walked in, we were seated right away. Our waitress was very professional in taking our orders and making sure we got everything we asked for. She checked in on the table in a timely manner too. I ordered the crispy pork, my wife had the cod sandwich, and my friend had a sandwich as well. All the food was fresh and cooked just right. Everything was delicious too. We were very happy with our food. It is a little on the pricier side, but it's definitely worth the price you pay. This is a German food must stop place. If you're ever visiting Long Island, NY, definitely scope this place out. You will not be disappointed. read more

If you are looking for great authentic, home made German food, this is the place. The bar features a variety of ice cold German beer that are obviously coming from clean taps and an ample amount of bar stools. It's a family friendly restaurant which makes it even more welcoming with long tables and benches reminding me of my short time in Germany. The potato pancakes, red cabbage and potato salad are off the charts! My partner and I ate at the bar and the tender was so efficient and friendly even though she never saw me before. Oh, and they have parking. Oh, and there was live music performed by The RockAwades. I take my reviews very seriously whether negative or positive and search for either. That being said, if you are looking for a casual place where you can bring your kids, or having a good or bad day and want to relax with a cold beer or just want some great German food...this is the place read more

I attend my Aunts 80 th birthday held at Das Biergarten on Saturday 5/30. The owner greeted us at the door and helped us get set up. The beer selection was german and of course great. We had chafing dishes full of Potato pancakes, Bratwurst and Knockwurst with sauerkraut( with caraway seeds, great touch and adds an amazing taste) for the non believers ,we had buffalo wings and chicken fingers. Everyone had an excellent time and my Aunt loved having her party at Das Biergarten. The staff was very attentive and helpful. read more

After an order was abruptly cancelled on us yesterday, I left a rather nasty review. The owner/chef later got back to us and provided a very thoughful explanation which totally justified what had happened. They even offered to discount us on our next order which is above and beyond. read more

Not for the faint of heart - Huge portions that will bring a smile to any foodies face. Excellent cordial service very casual place with benches and very clean with German decor. We came for a late lunch for my husband's birthday and the place was empty. Everything we had was on point. Perfect beer garden atmosphere. I really liked the warm potato salad! I got the cheesy Spaetzle it was very heavy and loaded with cheese - good for people that like that - read more

Home of das boot! I didn't actually get it but wished someone did. Loved the energy of the staff and all the decor. Seating inside and outside. This place is great for families or just a night out with friends. The customers at the bar were having a great time with the jukebox. Don't know if it's actually called that anymore. Machine that plays music is best way to describe it. The food was amazing. This was only my second time at a German restaurant. First time I made the mistake of getting a giant array of sausage. I was smart enough this time to not eat too heavy. I went with das schnitzel sandwich. I was recently introduced to fried pork cutlets. On a pretzel bread seems like a no-brainer. I turned out to be right. Fried perfectly, tons of flavor. Their french fries for a nice bonus. Very crispy and delicious. I was also able to sample some of my wife's plate of jagerschnitzel. It was basically what I got, but with a delicious mushroom gravy sauce. It also came with a side of spatzle. Great experience. Can't wait to go visit the in-laws and come back here. Five stars! read more

What a great time!!!!! Came last night with a large party and had a great experience! The bartender, waitress, food - 5 stars!!!! The burger I had, probably one of the best burgers I've ever had!!!! I woke up dreaming of it this morning, seriously! What a friendly staff and top notch service! I started off with potato pancakes which were delicious! Das burger? Like I said earlier, still dreaming of it!!! They have a private parking lot which is fantastic for the area since many places don't have one. Definitely Check this place out!!! If you aren't eating at Das Biergarten, you are truly doing yourself a disservice. Besides the amazing, personable staff, everything on the menu is 10/10. But the lobster roll in the summer is the STAR of the show. You wouldn't think of a German restaurant to have a lobster roll like this but DAMN, they sure do. The owner, Drew, is a true king and makes the meanest lobster salad in LB. Not full of mayo, nice BIG chunks of lobster. Oh, and do NOT sleep on his grilled cheese. read more

Fantastic afternoon at Das Biergarten today. Since Lots of Octoberfest celebrations are cancelled this year we took the chance to meet up with some friend for some pre Octoberfest celebration at Long Beach. Table where spaced well apart, server had mask all the times. Menu where laminated. Fantastic find close to my parents in Atlantic Beach. Das Biergarten has a fun, laid back atmosphere with impressive beer/cocktail and food menus. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel: giant pork cutlet fried to perfection, topped with a rich bacon mushroom gravy. It was accompanied by sides of spätzle and apple red cabbage. Every bite was delicious! Highly recommend. If you are a fan of classic German food and drinks, you must go to Das Biergarten! read more

Where do I begin?! I'd had the pleasure of being hosted my Sam my two times here (can't wait to come back!) All the servers engage you in friendly convo and are truly the epitome of the hospitality business. We had the gulash soup, the kaesespaetzle are fantastic , very very original "Muenchner Art" Bavarian style as they should be . The selection of beers is outstanding. I even saw German original brandy Ashach Uralt which I'm going to try next time . One of the best Apfael Strudel including. homemade Schlagsahne and homemade vanilla rice cream -- definitely a must take and choose . No dinner without a fantastic dessert!! Thank you toAndrew and his team -- see you soon! P.S.- the beer mug collection on the wall is beautiful --- love #5 from the left read more

Yikes... I am not one to usually leave negative reviews, but am extremely disappointed with the management here and will not be returning. I went to Das Biergarten a few weeks ago and it was fine. I expected it to be a bit more crowded on a Sunday during "Oktoberfest" but the relaxed vibe was ok for us too. I was a little disappointed at the limited beer selection at a Biergarten, but we ordered some pumpkin beers which were decent. I also ordered a cider which they added ice to, which I thought was strange but drank it anyway. I still had a fun time with my friends and would have given it a few stars if reviewed right after my visit. Unfortunately today it was brought to my attention that the owner habitually posts and comments aggressively on social media regarding his political views, which, while well within his rights, specifically target paying customers who are not willing to vote the way he would like. For specifics, you can check out their Facebook page yourself - but let's just say I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere. read more

Amazing food and service. Most authentic German food on Long Island. The jäger sauce is the one of the most delectable things on earth. Just awesome. read more

Pretty cool brew house and german restaurant located allllll the way on the westend of long beach. Been here a few times and always have a nice time. Beer selection is basically all german beers which is fine by me. They offer a variety of stine/pint sizes. Beer prices are average for a beer hall. Food wise id say its pretty decent. Only have gotten apps but everything we have tried has been good. The pretzel and the sampler were great. Cheese dipping sauce is bomb. Atmosphere is cool. All the tables are long wooden picnic tables and the place is dressed up like a german beer garden/hall. Service was great. Both the bartender and waitress were very nice and helpful. Overall would highly recommend checking this place out if you like german beer/food! read more

Great german food with pretty good prices. If you like MEAT, get the Pigs knuckle. Its a huge bone of pork with fall of the bone tender meat. Service can be slow for food but the bar service is great and they are happy to let you try any of the beers before you buy read more

Cold beer, great food, and a great time to be had here. Get there for a Ranger game, it's just as fun as being at MSG. Not one to leave negative reviews but the food here was really subpar. Pretzel was burnt, they got our order wrong (twice). We went to another bar in LB. Just received the nasty note from the owner below. I was merely rating the restaurant on my experience. Isn't that the point of having 1-5 stars? I don't think your response was warranted. I wasn't trying to offend you, just relay to others the experience I had. You're in the hospitality business. Responses like yours will make people spend their money elsewhere. read more

Great food, terrific service, and very reasonable prices. It's a fun place to go with friends.

Had Date Night, and live locally. Had never been here before, but definitely will be back! Was expecting "bar smell", was extremely pleasant, service was great. Many beer choices (of course). read more

My ancestors would be displeased with me for taking this long to check out das Biergarten. This place is legit and I am glad I finally stopped in. Classic Biergarten feel: long hardwood tables with communal seating, steins galore, plenty of Bavarian-style checkering (light blue and white), and a healthy smattering of authentic German beers. They apparently really like the Rangers (it is okay, I forgive you). The best part? Authentic German cuisine done right. Really hard to find a place that can make a perfect potato pancake: das Biergarten is one of them. Perfect amount of crispiness on the outside but still tender on the inside. Seasoning was perfect (even better with the apple sauce). You can tell these were fried up fresh by someone who knew what they were doing. Same quality with the pretzel. Nice crispy, blistered outside and soft, chewy inside. Oh and its huge. Comes with brown mustard and beer cheese -- both were fantastic. They have all the major seasonal styles covered when it comes to beer. Went with a Paulaner Märzen(Oktoberfest). Nice maltiness and very smooth. Service was excellent -- quick, attentive and personable. Cannot wait to come back to try the menu more extensively. read more

Had an early dinner and a couple of beers. Food was good pub food not restaurant quality . Good selection of beer at reasonable prices.

Came in while it was pretty busy, so service took awhile. Our waitress was nice but obviously couldn't get to us very quickly. As a result we had to wait almost 2 and a half hours while some parties around us were already getting their food. That being said, their jagershnitzel entree was quite good (not necessarily worth the wait though) read more

Food was alright, but the mask policy was loosely followed. I saw the cook not wear his mask, waitors took masks down to talk to one another while serving a party of 15+. The food probably deserves 3 stars, but the beer was warm. read more

It's going to be a no from me. We had made this one of our go-to places, as we supported local businesses and takeout fairly heavily through the pandemic. but we will not be spending money here any longer. The poor attitude of the ownership (idk, is Drew an owner?) about public health protocols makes me think that they aren't too concerned about health and safety in their business either. I'll spend my "liberal" money literally anywhere else. Total shame though, the food was a decent offering. There are just too many other businesses that I would rather support than this one. read more

Let me preface this review with saying I was the girl who's Myspace profile indicated I "walked a German dog and drove a German car" back in the day. About a year ago, I purchased a groupon for Das Biergarten and had to drag my boyfriend down to Long Beach before it expired. This place is on the veryy west end of Long Beach, however, has a parking lot - JACKPOT! We walked in and the second my boyfriend realized it was a NY Rangers bar he was immediately sold. There is a very open dining area with long classic wooden picnic tables and benches, a ceiling lined with skylights, super friendly and helpful barstaff. We had two HUGE delicious beers in Das boots and two HUGE pretzels. We decided we had to come back. Fast forward to present day, we now live in Long Beach (not 100% due to Das Biergarten, but definitely was a huge PRO) and have returned. I love the grapefruit beer but it can be a bit much.. mixed it with the wheat beer (illegal?) and thought it was perfect. Get the pretzel so soft on the inside and comes with beer cheese and mustard! The goulash is no Zum Stammtisch goulash but still delicious and presented lovely. Prices are so reasonable as well! See you again soon, Das Biergarten! read more

If you're coming to this biergarten in East Atlantic Beach to meet up with some friends over a couple beers and maybe a German pretzel, then great, this festive spot with (added bonus) its own parking lot will be a perfect spot to meet up. However, come looking for a nice German meal, well, nicht gut. Nice selection of German beers on tap but the food is just below average. Sauerbraten was shoe leather and under marinated with a bland gravy and schnitzel was too thin and a tad greasy. Potato salad and cabbage on the side were good and that's about it. Service is cold and inattentive but tabs are lower than most places in the area. Not that great for food but, like I said, a fun spot to just meet up for beers. read more
