Was looking to purchase my very first electric mountain bike for trail riding since most of the…read morecycling I do is on the road. Also, seeing all the mountain bikers at the Ohana Trail at my then Waimanalo shift inspired me to try a new sport. After all of the searching for local shops on FB, etc, Ride Ebikes Hawaii had a bicycle (Magnum Summit) that was not only in my budget but what I was looking for in a electric mountain bike as well. The Magnum Summit alone had a kick I wasn't expecting on take off and I admit I almost ate sh#t right out the gate on my test ride. My Grogu spirit guide was watching over me that day. Also, an attractive looking hardtail with a unique boxy frame that I have not seen on similar rides. The Magnum Summit comes in 27.5" and 29" wheels and various colors https://www.magnumbikes.com/product/magnum-summit/ Bicycle aside, business owner Justin Carvalho not only gave me a great deal on one of his demo bikes but also helped me out with any repairs needed (also had an extra obscure axle spacer not easily found at local stores for my rear wheel). Justin even went as far as to saw the bicycle seat post lower since I am a short rider. He provides a year warranty on all purchases if anything should happen electronically, etc. It is local business like Ride Ebikes Hawaii that helps acoustic / pedal bicycle riders like me (in this case for trail) to transition to electric. Also, Justin also offers rentals in a wide array of models and even a trike in case you are on the fence about the upgrade, which I assure you is a great investment. Electric is the way to go. https://rideebikeshawaii.com/rentals/ 5 Stars Ride Ebikes Hawaii

The 2 hour E-bike 101 Workshop has my recommendation as THE essential workshop for anyone…read moreinterested in purchasing an e bike, or who has one and wants to know more about e-bikes. Malia (HBL Director of Adult Education) was the Instructor with John as her assistant. I attended with a few of my friends (all of a certain age, but experienced cyclists) and we had a blast. The didactic portion is accompanied by a colorful informative booklet (great info to take home!) and Malia did an excellent job of getting through all the info which included bike safety, rules of the road, e-bike laws, e-bike legislation in HI, as well as everything one needs to know about e-bikes. We were all engaged and asked plenty of questions. What was equally impressive was the selection of different e-bikes that were available. We had the opportunity to ride two different e-bikes of our choosing and took brief rides around the parking lot. The location in Ewa was appreciated; so many opportunities are in town so it's wonderful that we are recognized. Nice to have the set up under a shady tree, late afternoon, so cooling down. And all for FREE! Easy to sign up at the HBL website. This organization is amazing for all they do in our community to make bike riding for ALL safe and fun. I appreciate all the work that went into preparing the booklet and formulating the workshop, as well as all the time it takes to prepare and breakdown, including getting all the e-bikes in and out of the truck. Would love to see the truck add a much needed lift so Malia and John can save their backs! MAHALO!

I believe his name was Alex. He took the time to text me a parts diagram to make sure we were talking about the same part for the correct year motor. He indeed identified the correct part and advised me he had one in stock. unlike past experiences where the guy in the parts department would tell you bring in the old part so they can match it up. What a disservice and waste of time. I went in and Alex had the part waiting. Please pay this guy properly so you won't have to hire donkeys anymore...

My gf and I were looking for a 1-2 day moped rental and found this place while strolling down…read moreWaikiki (looks like they have a duplicate location in a different part of Waikiki). I got to say that I was pretty pleased with the overall experience. Admittedly, the mopeds were not new (most had ~6,000mi on them) and had some wear & tear (the horn didn't work on one of them, speedometer was busted on one of them, fuel gauge was busted on one of them, etc.), BUT otherwise they worked fine and we had no problems touring around downtown, Tantalus, Diamond Head, Punchbowl, etc. The guy quoted 90mpg but I think it was probably more like 60-70mpg, not bad, regardless. Cost was $1/hr, so $24 for a full day + ~$6-8 tax (optional insurance, which we declined, was ~$6). When we returned it the guy offered a 2nd day for only $20 (+tax) so apparently there might be some room to haggle and get multi-day discount). most of the other places look to advertise $25-35/day (plus fees), so I figured this was a decent deal. A different reviewer noted problems with them charging her for damage without her knowing after she returned it, so I made sure to meticulously document any damage (mostly scratches) already on the bikes. We didn't have any problem returning it (just make sure to fill the gas when you get back). In retrospect it's probably not a bad idea to take quick phone pics of the bike to have extra documentation what damage was/wasn't there when you picked them up. With respect to service, Ladell was super friendly and laid back, and I think it was Blake that helped us return it. Overall it was a great experience, minus one star for the very-used, slightly busted bikes. I'll definitely consider renting from them again next time I'm here.

We rented three scootercars for 4hrs and after the 2nd hour one broke down. We had to wait an hour in the burning sun while they came with our replacement. Surprisingly, the replacement also made the same noise we had heard right before the first one broke down. We didn't want to chance it so we ended up returning early. We asked the Asian lady that worked there for a refund since we did not do the full 4hrs and also, an hour of it we were stranded on the side of the road. She refused and still wanted us to pay for gas. My husband argued with her but we ended up giving her the money. Obviously they do not maintain the scootercars and they have poor customer service skils. Not chancing it . . . not worth it . . . never ever coming here again.
