I ordered a few different items out of their menu and what I found is it all taste the same the fun Chow I don't know it all has the same sauce very sad. I have ordered the almond fried chicken as it is my favorite a few times since then. It tastes like dough there's no flavor and I'm very sad it started out a year ago as fantastic. I ordered Crispy Chicken in Mandarin Sauce and beef chowfun to go. The chicken was still crispy even after we got home. The beef and noodles were good too. You can tell they paid attention to the beef because it was not chewy. The food tasted great! The staff was very friendly and the service was great. Chicken was not seasoned, and covering it up with a sweet, not spicy, chili sauce did not help either. The food turned my stomach. I'd been trying to find beef chow fun and was having terrible luck. I should probably add that I'd been looking for a good Chinese food for awhile too. I saw the great reviews for this restaurant as well as beef chow fun on the menu so made it a point to stop in next time I was in the Silver Lake area. The person who greeted me tonight was very friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting. I ordered a cup of hot and sour soup and beef chow fun. The soup was really good, It's been a long time since I've had hot and sour soup that was good enough to finish eating. The beef chow fun was a very generous portion and the dish was delicious. The noodles had the flavor I was hoping for, kind of a charred wok flavor. The beef was very tender and flavorful. I will definitely be returning and look forward to trying new dishes!! read more

What was said was true, the food was bland, no taste or flavors what so ever... I mean come on guys, seriously it's not that difficult if you care or want repeat business to give us some flavor. We had it take out so we tried to pour on some soy sauce but we wound up throwing away the "food" $40 thrown away cause we couldn't taste anything. We also got a seemingly dollar store bought veggie egg roll what was more flavorful but it was cheap tasting (the tastiest thing we got) .., long story short don't go here it was horrible read more

We tend to visit Chinatown when we want authentic Chinese food. We were hoping to give this place a try because it was local..The women at the counter was nice We ordered the special plate wis plate with Orange chicken pork fried rice and it came with a egg roll and cup of soup. We also ordered the house special chow mein. The woman in the front was very nice and once we received our food it smelled pretty good so we had high hopes.. We made a quick stop at Walmart at Walmart and went back home to Lynwood. Once we arrived home and opened up the boxes don't Orange chicken plate looked decent and also tasted decent as well however the special chow mein Was a joke it may have had about about 10 pieces of meat altogether the noodles were stuck together no sauce and no seasoning Both plates together costogether cost $27. Typically When we go to our favorite place in Seattle we Seattle we may spend about $16 for the same amount of food it's not a food and the quality is top notch. 1st time getting takeout was great food, service, takeout was fantastic, ordered almond chicken, house chow mein, it was all great! 2nd time visiting Ming Garden, ordered a few things for takeout, got home and found a missing item. I called them to see if I could get a credit on my card or a future item. The Owner immediately asked for my address, and offered to deliver the missing item. It was delivered within 15 minutes. This place is good. It's on the better end of little Chinese places in the silver lake/S Everett area. That being said, I gave it 3 stars because of the PRICE. My family of 3, including a 6 year old, paid $70 for a few entrees and some rice and did not have leftovers. Price was fine, just need a larger portion. We got honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken (meal size, came with white rice and not so good egg drop soup and one egg roll), beef chow fun, an order of egg rolls which had 2 smalll egg rolls. This place opened up not even 3 minutes away from our home and we were so excited when we saw their menu on our door a couple weeks ago. I gotta say we've ordered from them at least 6 times since they opened, and they always give super generous portions! Having shared a meal or two (or hundreds) in several Chinese enclaves in L.A., S.F., Vancouver BC and Seattle, I admit to being a bit pickier than most. I was also an infrequent guest at the Puget Park Ming Palace as well, so rather than bemoaning the departure of the China Dumpling and Noodle House that was in this same spot a few years back, I looked at the reviews and knew I had to give it a try. I ordered the HK Style Chow Mein, General Tso Chicken (with $5 extra chicken), Crispy beef in Mandarin Sauce, and Salt and Pepper Pork to go on a recent visit. The service was pretty quick and I was trucking it back home within a few minutes, a 20 min ride. I was most impressed with the HK Chow Mein as it was flavorful and pretty authentic. The General Tso chicken was good, but for the extra chicken charge of $5 I am not sure I got my money's worth there. The crispy beef was also decent, but could have used a little spice. The letdown was the pepper salted pork. Where most places use pork chops, Ming used what appeared to be sliced pork which shriveled up when fried. The flavor was just OK. I would have preferred pork chops. 4 entrees was over $70 with tax and tip and there was no rice. I rated this a 3.5 star, mostly for the flavor, and rounded up a half star for the nice lady who offered me hot tea while I was waiting, which I prompted to spill on myself. Yay. read more

Really really enjoyed our take out from here! Looking forward to eating in next time and trying more dishes... we got the egg flour soup, fried almond chicken, beef chow fun, and kung pao chicken and shrimp... all very delicious, carefully packed away in to go containers, and reasonably priced. The menu is very nice and most importantly, the food is delicious. The restaurant looked very nice and had lots of people in it. I wanted to try this restaurant because it had gotten such great reviews. We both ordered General Tsos, fried rice and soup along with the appetizer sampler. General Tsos was not spicy at all. Fried rice was very bland. Egg rolls and appetizer sampler were good. However what got me was we got it delivered. We were in the backyard and didn't hear the doorbell. The delivery driver placed the food on the porch went back to his car and called me to let me know it was there and then waited for me to open the door before a friendly wave and drove off. Their food was very tasty - especially our orange chicken. There was a bit of confusion about their pepper chicken - when we ordered it online, the description didn't state that there were mushrooms in it, and there is. My husband is allergic to them, so he couldn't eat it. I explained to the restaurant that their online menu doesn't list that description and they made a new plate (they were under the impression that it did have that description online, and were willing to only charge me 1/2 for a new plate. Until I explained that it didn't. So it was nice that they were willing to discount that if it had been a simple misread). The woman was very nice & understanding. Perhaps we are being too picky and too spoiled by eating at good, authentic Chinese restaurants, but we were overall disappointed with the food here. Given the high ratings we thought the food would be a lot better. For example, we are used to green beans at Chinese restaurants being crispy and fresh, but here it was soggy and rubbery. Another thing we disliked was the scallops which we thought were bland and tasteless. And although the chow mein was tasty enough, the noodles didn't seem right, we think they used spaghetti noodles instead of chow mein noodles. The only dish we liked was the chow fun though we wish there could of been a little more noodles and a little less onions in it. read more

I have to give them a ding on a a star. The last few times we've been it's been VERY slow service and a lot of getting up and down in our own to peek into kitchen to get someone's attention. Very chaotic tonight. Food is very good but it's been frustrating last few times with service and chaos. They are trying but it's just the cook and the owner and sometimes the woman. Just too busy to pay attention to customers. Tonight had to get up and get to go boxes, forks, napkins, ask for water 3 times, no fortune cookies. We'll keep going because it's tasty, perhaps just not on a Saturday night. read more
