And these employees worked in harmony to helped me out to avoid a huge headache. The song I'm singing is, "I'll Be Home for Christmas (with my new battery)". And I'm sure I'm joining the chorus of praise for the company who's embraced being the battery champs. A quick set-up and maybe a cautionary tale. My car had been starting slowly and I thought I would wait for my annual inspection to get the battery checked. But yesterday, I went to the grocery and as I went in the rear deck wouldn't open. Tried the remote, the switch on the deck and on the dash. Nothing. When I came out of the store, the remote wouldn't unlock the doors. I manually opened the door and in my Oh-S moment I prayed. Thankfully it started. I had to do something NOW. I drove immediately to AutoZone, went inside and Dominic left the counter immediately. He tested the battery: One cell was dead and the battery was draining fast. He and his coworkers worked together to find a high quality, warranted replacement. He and his coworkers also worked together to get the battery swapped out free of charge. Recycling of the old battery was free, too. In desperate, out relieved in 30-minutes. "Hallelujah AutoZone"

One of their employees was a former tow truck driver and had a locksmithing kit at home. He ran home, grabbed the kit and got me back in my car which was totally above and beyond what is expected from a chain auto store.

But they don't. The Auto Center is, in our Covid-19 time, officially closed. But you're not SOL if you have a battery or basic car need. The Auto Center is now where employees come and go through the vacant, cavernous garage and get checked in coming to work now. Where you could once pull in to the parking lot tohave your car worked on is now closed off to public traffic and dedicated to employees. You can still do basic car maintenance a la Wal-Mart with car parts still available. BUT they don't make it easy. I went in needing a car battery. The one I had was from Wal-Mart and I needed to return it there to get it recycled and get my discount. No one was back in the auto area. The section with car batteries was actually taped off with yellow caution tape. Workers I asked in other parts of the store couldn't tell me whether or not I could swap the old battery for new. I went home and called the next day on the chance of someone actually picking up the 'automotive' line. On my second try, I was successful. Turns out, with someone available in automotive -- even though they're closed -- they'll help you get your battery. You can take it to the front to customer service and exchange your old for new. Convenient like when the garage is open? Nope. Convenient so if you come in and get your questions answered? Nope. New battery in truck and old battery being recycled? Finally.

Immediately lost my business because they refuse to answer the phone. Called multiple times over…read morethe course of two days to try and get a quote. If you are understaffed, then that is obviously a Walmart problem but regardless... Discount tire got my business.
