This store sits directly on the feeder of I 35 heading north. I needed an extra key to my 2010 Honda Accord. I learned they do make a lot of replacement key fobs, but not a lot of German or European fobs. If you need a replacement key, it's best to call to see if they actually can cut that key or have in stock. You also need to bring the car so that they can program the new key to it, otherwise they cannot make a fob. Your out of luck if you need a spare for your BMW. The cost of these replacement fobs vary and mine was $140. Some of the things they also have here are golf cart, marine, RV, and car batteries. Duracell seems to be the primary maker of most of their batteries found here. There's also some specialty LEDs and bulbs for sodium high pressure lamps. My Samsung phone need a warranty repair. Called on Monday morning to ensure the part was in stock. Dropped the phone off about noon. It was ready later that day. Yesterday, I came here to get a battery for my vehicle as my car had stopped and would not turn over. Prior to showing up to the location, I called the location (while my car was being jumped) to determine if this location had the type of battery my car required. I was placed on a brief hold and then was advised the required battery was indeed available. I then asked if the installer would be there by the time I got my vehicle to the location. I was given a time of 7PM (although the store closes at 8PM) to have my vehicle there to get my battery installed. When I arrived at the store, the battery I inquired about was ready and placed aside. I paid for the battery, got it installed and was on the road within 35 minutes. No complaints here! read more

I called to ask about programming a new vehicle key fob. They ask a few questions, I answered them and they stated they could do it. I made my way to the store about 1.5 hrs later. I ask for the guy I talked to as I entered the door, I then ask the guy behinds the counter if he was AJ. He stated sarcastically " I am not! But didn't offer his name or where AJ was. He begin looking at my fobs taking them apart. Another guy ask what vehicle and a few more questions then stated they could not program the key as if oh well. I don't as ticked. I love everything about these dang stores! If you're in need of a battery or a light bulb chances are they have it. They also sell chargers and do cell phone repairs. One thing that doesn't really fit in with the rest of the inventory is windshield wipers. Yes, this store has windshield wipers. Hmmm. On my most recent visit I was on the search for a couple of outdoor bulbs and some AAA's. I was greeted immediately in typical BPB friendliness. The guy (I can't remember his name, but, the receipt has his initials as MG) immediately comes over to where I'm at and asks if he can help me find anything. I told MG that I was looking for two outdoor bulbs and I literally wanted to "light up the night". I was having a seriously hard time describing the outdoor fixtures that they would be going into. I'm like "my house is old. They're for the driveway lights" etc. Thank God MG had some smarts. He took over and in no time at all it was settled that I had carriage type lights. I then told him that I wanted long lived bulbs. This got us narrowed down to LED daylight 100w 1600 lumens. They're $10 a piece and worth the investment as I shouldn't have to replace them anytime soon. I headed to the counter and saw some AAA batteries on display. The brand name was Werker and they were selling at $2.99/ 8 pak. Fuck'n ay!! Werker is their brand name and the price was a steal! At check out MG told me if I wasn't happy with my bulbs I had two weeks to return them along with packaging and receipt. I don't think that will be necessary as I'm loving the bulbs. Attempted to reprogram my garage door opener using my hand held transmitter. I spent nearly two hours and various reprogramming help videos only to give up and go back to Batteries Plus where a salesperson opened it up to find that the previous employee when I first bought the batteries for two transmitters put them in upside down. Also found out that both batteries had weak readings. They typically do a great job but buyer beware. Make sure batteries are place in the correct position and they test them for the power status. WARNING do not get your phone fixed here it will glitch and be messed up. When you take it back to the store they will say they see nothing wrong. They'll offer to put new screen but wtf why would I want a new screen when y'all couldn't do it right the first time? Guy offered to put my old cracked screen back on and refund my money. I told him other guy on phone said a wire might be twisted and that's why it could be glitching and he legit said "Since you want your old screen back on I'll put it back on and call it even" basically I'm not gonna check and make sure wires are ok (the damage they did when "fixing" my phone) but just slap my old crack screen back on and give it back to me. This is a great little chain store if you are looking for batteries you can't find for things like keyless car entry things, lawn mowers, cell phones etc. They often send out specials in those mailer things and have watch battery specials for 99 cents. Always friendly, good selection, prices aren't bad for hard to find replacement batteries. Been several times to this location and good luck every time. read more

I am looking for a battery for my Harley, but didn't want to pay for a HD Motors battery. I saw online an AGM battery available at my local "Batteries and Bulbs" so I went by. I went in the door, saw the battery display, but didn't find the cross reference book to choose a battery. A guy came up, I told him what I was looking for, but was unable to help because I didn't bring the battery with me. I found it on this company's website, but he couldn't identify it in store. Every time I've bought a battery for any vehicle there has been a book where you could look up year/make/model, and get a part number. For some reason they couldn't do that. Very helpful... my iPhone 6 was playing up, I thought it was the most recent software update. Took it to TMobile & they told me I'd dropped it which I knew I hadn't. 1st time here. Friend said I should try battery place rather than pay $200+ for Key Fob thru Lexus. Amen to that! Googled battery places in RR & found this. Read reviews on Google & Yelp & thought I'd try. 5 mins & ~$9.00 - he did the work of "fighting to open & then put back together" the fob (they make it ridiculously difficult to open & put back together properly, even though it's a Watch battery!). Worth it to me because I had tried doing it myself with the other key fob & never able to put it back together! I need to being it here! 4 stars because it was a ~$1.00- $2.00 watch battery so I paid ~$7.00 + tax for 5 mins of labor. I'm certainly a slack-jawed fangirl at this point. Went in for a watch battery and a car fob battery. They sold me on the lifetime watch battery replacement, which allows you to pay once and then replace the battery cost free for the lifetime of the watch. And then my key fob to my car was dead, so they opened it, noticed the bracket for the battery had popped loose. They soldered it on, installed the battery, installed the watch battery, set my watch, tested the car fob, and had me out of there in less than 10 minutes. The cost for the batteries, installation, soldering and subscription? $20. I used to wonder how a battery store stays in business, given the competition. Now I wonder how they stay in business given the reasonable prices. I will DEFINITELY be back! Very impressed. read more

UP DATE 05/24/2018: After all the. Matt did us right by keeping the old battery and crediting us back on the new purchase battery. The two staff Members Alden and Justin were very help full. I purchase a battery April 2017 for my boat and after the summer was over in late Sept 2017, we placed our boat in storage. This battery is a 4 yr warranty battery $350.00+. Over the week end May 19, 2018 I was moving my boat out of storage, getting it ready for the lake trip and went to place boat on the truck and the lift did not go down. Tried charging up over night and next day it stated bad battery. So I pulled it out of our battery box and when to pick up a replacement. The staff stated it will take 4 hours to see if it charge to 12 vaults. I had to get back to move my boat so I purchase a new one 350.00 + expecting a credit after they stated "if the battery charges up to 12 they can credit my credit card back on the new purchase, but that would not be until the manger is in Monday and if it doesn't, then I do not get credit. Well to day I called and the battery did hit 12 vaults, stated I need a credit on my credit card and Alden transferred me over to the the manager Mathew were he stated "it was a good battery hit 12 vaults and if I want a credit, then I would have to return the one I just purchase and will give me back my old battery because it was good". I had purchased a replacement Key Fob about 9 months ago. Recently the Fob stopped working so I went back to see what the problem was and it turned out to be battery. I have owned at least 10 key fobs and had never had batter die in less than 3 years. May be it is a stale battery or fob electronics drains the battery too much. Cracked my phone screen pretty badly and had them repair it. The wait was pretty quick considering there were 2 phones ahead of me. Once I got home I took a look at my phone and noticed under the screen there is dirt blocking the front camera as well as the speaker notch having dirt and plastic pieces stuck in it. I scheduled an appointment for 12:00pm to repair my cracked phone screen and arrived on time. Greeted 15 minutes later by an employee, but no big deal. I was told my phone would be ready in an hour. Returned about 1 1/2 hours later and was told they still hadn't started on my phone. I was told to come back in another hour. Returned 1 1/2 hours later to give extra time. My phone was still not ready. They then "fixed" it while I was in store waiting. I Returned home and realized that when they repaired the screen, they damaged my phone and I could not make or receive phone calls. I Immediately called the next day from a different phone to discuss repairs. Was put on hold for 20 minutes where I could hear all conversations in the store, which were largely personal conversations between 2 employees while customers were not in the store. The employee who answered had forgotten about me. The second employee (who was not the one to answer the phone) finally realizes I'm still on hold. I share my concerns and schedule an appointment the next day to fix the damage. I arrive the next day and the individual who initially repaired my screen tells me that he remembers my phone and that he suspected the speaker wasn't going to work ??? I am again told to return in one hour. I kill time and return 2 hours later to discover nobody has started on my phone. I ask for a refund so I can take elsewhere. I am told "you understand you will be leaving with a broken phone?" I remind the clerk that he broke my phone. He gives me a 30 minute estimate to fix. I tell him that I'd prefer to take elsewhere. He says it can be fixed in 5 minutes. I wait. Receive my phone and go home. Very next day my phone is sitting on my desk uninterrupted and suddenly the screen splits from one corner diagonally to the other. $90 wasted and my phone is in worse shape than when I took it in read more

I recently purchased a watch battery from this location, mostly out of desperation. It turned out I didn't need the battery, but I could never make it back to Round Rock. I tried returning the battery and was advised I could not complete the return, I was outside their 14 day return policy. I was in fact 1 week beyond. The only thing keeping Brick and Mortar companies open is the convenience of an immediate purchase, and the expectation of good customer service. These stores are generally overpriced, but for convenience or emergency sake, they are usually worth the additional expense. I understand I did not return the item fast enough, but having such a short return period is incredibly short sighted, Places like Batteries Plus and Radio Shack over charge because no one goes there anymore. Amazon has a 30 day return policy, and even then they will let you slide if you are a few days late. As a bonus the prices are 1/3 to 1/2 what you find in a typical Brick and Mortar. Having worked every level of customer service the last 20 years has taught me there is always 2 ways to look at a situation. Granted I was past the return period, but the battery was only $4. From my point of view, it was only a $4 item, I guess I'll use it at some point. But I wasted gas and my time to be turned down on a silly return. This company missed an opportunity to provide great customer service. Instead I will plan better and buy from either another store, or Amazon. Pros - Convenient, great selection. Matt helped me out big time. I bought two expensive jet ski batteries online to be picked up at the Round Rock store. I took the new batteries in the boxes to Central Texas Powersports to have them installed while they were being serviced. Rather than just take the batteries out of the boxes, they ripped the boxes to shreds to remove them faster. Turns out the batteries were not the right size, so they put some packing tape on the boxes, because they knew that I would be trying to return them. The boxes also got wet. I was worried for days that I wouldn't be able to return them and would be out over $200 bucks. Matt understood the situation, and gave me a full refund for the batteries in the damaged boxes. 3/18/18 @ 5pm. I went in to pick up a unique battery that I was certain they would have as I've been a BPB customer for years. This was my first time at this location as I just moved to the area. My complaint and reason for being upset is simple. Just as I was pulling into the shopping center parking lot I got hit hard by something immediately stirring my allergies. I probably sneezed 6 times in 30 seconds. I walked in with eyes watering, sniffles and snot draining. Ashamed of my condition, I asked the salesman if I could have some tissue. He says he didn't have any. I asked if I could grab some tissue from the bathroom he stated that it wasn't for customers. I then come to the next logical solution, "can you please grab me some tissue?". I'm sorry sir bathrooms aren't for customers. This neck-beard couldn't walk his lazy ass 20 feet to help a customer having a desperate moment work through it. I ended up wiping my mess on my shirt. That still didn't help with the blow that was needed. I hope his mom makes him make his own chicken nuggets tonight when he's playing video games in her basement, that way he has to walk those 20 steps that he refused to walk to help put a BPB customer. Also, it looks as if their brand of "AA" and "AAA" batteries on the front counter are way cheaper then in Home Depot or another retail store. I have frequented this location of a number of years, buying motorcycle batteries, car batteries, and batteries for my motor home at several hundred dollars each. I've spent several thousand dollars in that store. I have always experienced great, helpful, friendly employees. That is until today. I went in to get the screen replaced on my iphone. They took my information and then asked, "has it ever been repaired by someone other than Apple or Batteries Plus?" I responded with yes. They immediately responded with there is no warranty on the repairs. I said if I had not been honest, I've have a warranty. No one said otherwise. And, thats not right. One of the other employees started laughing, apparently thinking its funny. The fact that I got no warranty for the dollars spent in Batteries Plus isn't the reason for the one star and the recommendation that you should go somewhere else. Its that fact that as I'm having my conversation with the employee behind the counter about a warranty or no warranty, this particular employee is laughing with every comment or statement I'm making. Quite frankly, that made me angry. When I went back to pick the phone up and pay my bill, I continued the discussion with the original employee that truly it is right to base the decision of a warranty or a non-warranty based on a verbal acclamation. This other employee continue to laugh. I asked what is he laughing at and why, he responds, "You.". With that I walked out iphone in hand. I get home and I see a chip on the upper left of the screen. I didn't see it in the store, but I didn't look closely either. I had a Batteries Plus employee distracting me by laughing. Of course, there is NO warranty. So, bottom line is I paid hard earned money to get laughed at for a chipped screen. Now I have to go somewhere else and get my phone repaired, again, properly. They had what I needed each time, and friendly and helpful staff even volunteered to swap out the batteries in the gadgets I brought in. These guys are GREAT! I know that it seems strange to write a review about a battery place, but after going here, I'll never go anywhere else. I have classic vehicles (as well as strange electronics around the house), and getting batteries from the Wal-Mart or even most auto parts stores is really not an option. These guys at Batteries Plus in Round Rock either have the item in stock or can get it very quickly. Additionally, their customer service is fantastic, returning calls when promised, providing helpful advice, and one time they even provided me with some new hardware - free of charge! ok...have you ever started your car and heard that less than healthy crank on the motor? i fired up my toyota one morning thinking that was the last crank out of that battery after that err err err! i called the round rock batteries plus on my way to work. the guy on the phone was very pleasant, very knowledgable, and no pressure. i stopped by for a free battery check and found out the battery was in the early stages of failing. i thanked him for the test and the prices he provided. sadly, when i tried to fired up "reese" after my free test, the battery gave up the ghost. the guy who helped me already had the exact battery for me waiting by the register. (it was a duracell...weird, not really a known CAR battery) anyhow, he gave me an on the spot 10 per cent off AND, he exchanged the battery for me. yay !...i even had time to get lunch before i got to work. if you wanna risk your time going to Walmart to save a few bucks, by all means, do so. walmart sells everything....batteries plus only sells batteries. i need reliable transportation - i need reliable help. you'll do good by these guys. read more
