Things happen. When I asked, why is my hood up and what are they checking on? He stated that there are other things per state guidelines. They need to look at that's part of the process, but he was not sure and that the inspector would know.. after I talked to the inspector. He said it was only emissions related for state inspection now and the service advisor stated no they have to check multiple things. Make sure nothing's leaking and everything's working under the hood. I looked on the DPS website and for the state of Texas it states what is evaluated, which is the emissions computer, gas cap, ready to monitors, and a check engine light, which is all checked through the OBD port. There is no reason to open the hood. I will never go back to this lambs automotive because if you lie about something small as a state inspection, you'll lie about something big like actual issues with the vehicle.. this lambs automotive furthers the stereotype about repair shops lying to the customer.

I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler which is getting increasingly difficult to find proper parts for, even from the dealerships. Recently my jeep had a e-brake issue. Mark hunted everywhere (from the mouth of an associate of his, not himself) for days. When he found "the" part on-line, it was ordered and received only NOT to be "the" part at all. During my time-without-car, I used a loaner from CB..."take it on the toll roads, wherever you need to go. Call us if you have any problems." Then came an "ah-ha" moment, someone at the shop came up with an out-of-the-box solution. It required an additional part, but, the very next day, my dear Jeep was ready to go, back on the road and as good as new. Probably better. They apologized repeatedly for taking such a long time with the repair and thanked me for my patience. Meanwhile I was driving around in their car. These are all GREAT, KIND craftspersons who know what they're doing under the hood and all around the innards of a car. I give them my highest recommendation, and I'm really picky!

Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I can no longer recommend this location. I brought my 2006 Hummer H2 in for A/C repairs and an oil change. During the visit, I was charged $210 for a basic engine air filter. I questioned the price because it seemed unusually high, but was simply told, "The price is what it is" by Johnathan. To verify the pricing, I had a male friend call the South Austin location with the exact same year, make, and model of my vehicle. They were quoted $139 for the same engine air filter. I also called other automotive shops, and their prices were significantly lower. I contacted the regional manager to ask why there was such a large pricing difference between locations. He reviewed everything and confirmed that I should have been charged $139, not $210. He agreed the Cedar Park location overcharged me and approved to refund the difference. When I mentioned what the regional manager had told me, the technician, Jason, decided to insert himself into the conversation between myself & Johnathan & argued with me in the reception area in front of 3 other male customers saying something about being cheap. while Jason was arguing with me about price I asked Johnathan did you not say the $210 was for a "basic engine air filter" which he would not answer. To make matters worse, after paying for the A/C repair, my vehicle still was not fixed. There is now a loud humming noise, there is little to no airflow on fan speeds 1 and 2, and only limited airflow on speed 3. I now have to take my vehicle back for additional repairs because the original repair was not completed correctly. Since I refuse to go back to this north location I will have to travel an hour away to get my AC fixed. To his credit, the manager who was in lunch while this was happening walked in at the end & we spoke outside. He handled the situation professionally. He refunded the air filter overcharge, reimbursed me for the window switch repair that I chose not to have completed, provided $30 additional compensation for my inconvenience to drive south & sincerely apologized. While I appreciate how the manager resolved the financial issues, the experience at the Cedar Park location was unacceptable. No customer should be spoken to or argued with in front of other customers, especially after a pricing issue that management later confirmed was valid. As someone who supported this business for years and referred many people here, I'm disappointed to say I will not return to the Cedar Park location while that technician Jason is employed there. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues so other customers do not have the same experience.

I dropped off two vehicles for service on a Monday and was told that at least one--and likely both--would be ready for pickup by Saturday. When I followed up that Saturday, neither vehicle had been worked on. I was informed that a mechanic had unexpectedly quit earlier that week, which disrupted their schedule. While I understand that unforeseen staffing issues can occur, I would have appreciated proactive communication. I left both vehicles over the weekend and followed up the next week to confirm progress. I was reassured that at least one vehicle would be ready by the following Saturday. However, when I arrived, neither vehicle was completed. I expressed my disappointment but gave them another opportunity to resolve the situation. During the third week, communication became more difficult. My calls went unanswered for several hours, and I ultimately went to the shop in person. At that point, I was told one vehicle was ready. However, the service was not completed as requested--the alignment I had asked for was clearly not performed, as the front wheels were significantly toed in, making the vehicle unsafe to drive. After three weeks of minimal progress, inconsistent communication, and incomplete work, I can no longer recommend Sun Auto. This is disappointing, as I previously valued the service provided by Shannon and his team.
