Sun Auto Service - I am unhappy motorist, thanks to Sun Auto in Georgetown!!!

On March 23, my father and I brought his vehicle to Sun Auto for diagnosis and repair of an…read moreoverheating issue. We worked primarily with Karl K., who was professional and thorough. After receiving a detailed inspection report, we authorized repairs only related to the overheating concern. The initial estimate was approximately $1,400, later expanded to ~$2,100 with additional approved items. Approximately one week later, I was informed that additional labor had already been performed due to complications encountered by the assigned technician, Robert Martin. This resulted in an unauthorized increase of approximately $700, which was neither discussed nor approved prior to the work being completed. This raised immediate concerns regarding billing practices. After nearly two weeks in the shop, we were informed that despite the repairs, the vehicle continued to overheat and the shop was uncertain how to proceed. During an in-person visit, interactions with staff (excluding Karl K. and the General Manager, Travis) were unprofessional and defensive. While the General Manager acknowledged communication failures and removed the unauthorized charges, the technician was unable to clearly explain why the overheating issue persisted after the repairs. After being encouraged to allow additional work at no cost, we agreed. Two days later, we were told the issue was resolved by bleeding air from the cooling system. We retrieved the vehicle immediately. Upon pickup, the vehicle was returned with loose bolts placed on the windshield and a non-functional hood latch, an issue that did not exist prior to service. Despite photo documentation, Sun Auto has refused responsibility, attributing the damage to vehicle age and denying fault. While Karl K. acted professionally throughout, the overall experience reflects serious concerns regarding authorization, workmanship, vehicle handling, and accountability. I do not recommend this location. Should the overheating issue recur, I will pursue further action.

We literally needed to get home as soon as possible and they had our car ready within less than 24 hours and it was exceptional service. Not only that, but they also kindly dealt with my annoying warranty company for my car & they were so patient and kind about that too. Special thank you to Travis, Carl and Jacob.

The capable crew, led by Isla (if she doesn't have a managerial position, she should!) makes sure that you know when your vehicle will be ready and don't make promises they cannot keep. They offer info on alternate options, and seem to be very well informed. Thanks, MIdas, Georgetown! I will be back!

This was one of the most horrendous experiences ever and it ended up costing me $2000. Here's the…read morestory. I needed a simple CV axle changed very simple not complex and they did it and it cost me about 1000 bucks. Then when I started driving the car, I was driving about an hour and a half away and all of a sudden I started hearing a scraping noise a tremendous scraping noise coming from the front left part of my vehicle. I took it to a local Midas because I was too far away to go to the place where I had the repair done, and I walked to the bay door as they wiggle around the entire rotor. The mechanic came back and said that the axle nut was not tightened properly, which is a huge issue and concern. This resulted in them over tightening the nut and damaging the wheel bearing. After a lot of research and self-diagnosis ended up taking it into Honda requesting the only replace the wheel bearing and the issue completely resolved. I did not have this issue before. The bigger note here is that Midas will not help each other very much just simple inspections most likely due to liability reasons but just cause you take it to a minus does not mean you're in a good place. Honestly, with all the hassle, it would've just been better to get it done right by the dealership, even though it was slightly more expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. The people were great and nice at Midas, but the quality of their work is really what speaks about why you'd want to go there in the first place and it's not very good quality work at all. Definitely do not recommend and will never come back to this John.
