This was one of the most horrendous experiences ever and it ended up costing me $2000. Here's the story. I needed a simple CV axle changed very simple not complex and they did it and it cost me about 1000 bucks. Then when I started driving the car, I was driving about an hour and a half away and all of a sudden I started hearing a scraping noise a tremendous scraping noise coming from the front left part of my vehicle. I took it to a local Midas because I was too far away to go to the place where I had the repair done, and I walked to the bay door as they wiggle around the entire rotor. The mechanic came back and said that the axle nut was not tightened properly, which is a huge issue and concern. This resulted in them over tightening the nut and damaging the wheel bearing. After a lot of research and self-diagnosis ended up taking it into Honda requesting the only replace the wheel bearing and the issue completely resolved. I did not have this issue before. The bigger note here is that Midas will not help each other very much just simple inspections most likely due to liability reasons but just cause you take it to a minus does not mean you're in a good place. Honestly, with all the hassle, it would've just been better to get it done right by the dealership, even though it was slightly more expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. The people were great and nice at Midas, but the quality of their work is really what speaks about why you'd want to go there in the first place and it's not very good quality work at all. My wife had to make a quick stop on her way to work. Her vehicle showed evidence of rear brake smoking. We had taken her vehicle to Genisus of Round Rock a few months ago and they "recommended" brakes all the way around. The cost was in the thousands, and we would have to order the parts, make an appointment weeks out and wait. Robert Dinaro received us in immediately, determined my wife's brakes was in horrible shape. She should not have been driving with them this bad. Where it would have taken Genisus weeks to get us on schedule to include cost us double the price. Robert was able to get my wife's car done the same day at a fair cost. Had an oil change done by them as a returning customer. Later to find out the oil filter and pin were not secured or properly placed. This caused a leak and caused our car to lose ability to accelerate and stalled while driving on i35 the next morning. Per upper management we didn't return our car to their shop because "things happen", but taking the car to the closest shop was the safest option. The shop that fixed our car stated that the filter was crushed into place and the pin was not secured and we're lucky it didn't get sucked into the engine. There are plenty other auto shops to pick from. Their safety measures, honesty, integrity, and training of their employees is extremely concerning and needs to be investigated. read more

I typically shy away from chain auto repair/service places that may try and sell you an engine with your bolt, but these guys have proved time after time that they offer speedy, excellent and affordable services and only mention the parts you really should start thinking about purchasing. Big shout out to Andrew! I stopped in because my daughter's car notification said it was time to change the oil. We just did that a few months ago but what do I know. I mentioned that we are traveling and wanted to make sure the car doesn't blow up on us. Andrew stated it was near closing but he would stay to take care of us. Wow! He came out and checked the oil and thankfully it didn't need to be changed but the place we took it to back home was too lazy to change it because they didn't want to take the time to figure out how to reset the car computer. I had initially given this facility a 5 star when the work was completed as I was pleased and to receive a free oil change service in the future. Days later we found a few items missing. Mentioned to the manager. After she reviewed their security camera video it was confirmed someone was in the car in attempts to probably steal our vehicle. I asked they replace the items which total approx $100 now this is after I spent over $3800 for services. Manager stated after speaking with the owner he wasn't going to pay anything and suggested I contact my auto carrier which is going to deny the claim because below ded. Jorge of Midas Georgetown said I needed Brake Flush, coolant flush, power steering flush, tune up, wiper blades for a total of $620.73. I did not need any of these items. I have used the Midas location for the last four years and they have always treated me with respect and been honest in my dealings with them. I took my daughters car up there on 8/15/23 and the front alignment was out of spec but was not serviceable. I asked what it would take to bring back into spec and they said they would have to start to change out bushings, tie rods etc . When I asked Derrick if he would do this if it was his car he said no. It was not bad enough to go through the effort and was more expensive then a new set of tires so why do it. This is what I like to hear. No upcharges unless really needed. Don't bother with making an appointment online, this location doesn't bother to use the online appointment system. If you call, they take a very long time to answer the phone, if they answer at all. If you do go, go early otherwise you'll wait, sometimes for hours, even though there are employees just standing around. If your vehicle need parts, you wait until their supplier brings them--more wait time--they don't employ a parts runner. Their mark up on the price of parts is extremely high. When I questioned them about it, they give the answer that everything is going up...blah, blah, blah. Bottom line, even after they installed the parts on my vehicle it didn't address the problem I brought it in for. Oh and make sure when you review the estimate--its 2 pages. After Diana sold the biz, it went downhill. The crew is fantastic. However, after my last oil change the "tech" didn't screw the oil pan plug correctly and lost oil much oil. I called to get a quote for the trans axel seal and the person on the phone, basically blew me off. I no longer own the maxima the "crew" had worked on for 3 years. I would approach with caution. I paid for a service that did not fix my issue, and when I went back in a three weeks later to have them look at it again, they tried to charge me for the exact same brake flush line I had them perform and told me I needed new brake pads on pads that three weeks earlier they said were in "green" condition. Johnny, at their front desk, admitted the tech did not inspect the brake fluid the way he was supposed to. Michael, their manager, has been unwilling to provide a reasonable solution to this issue. Called and needed brake pads. Had availability same day, but my schedule wouldn't allow. So I scheduled for next day and they saw me an hour early. #YAY Got in and out within an hour. Staff was nice. Mostly professional. I can't confirm if it's within safety standards, but I did witness the tech who worked on my car smoking a cigarette inside the shop bay. While I'm not judging him for smoking on the job - that's Midas' problem - I will say he shouldn't smoke next to what appeared to be some sort of tank. Could've been air, or something else non-explosive - not sure. Just didn't make me comfortable - especially having my infant son with me. #SafetyFirst read more

I did not have an appointment so I am understanding of a wait time I just needed my belt looked at they told me it would be a two hour wait. No problem when about my day hour 3 rolls around I given them a call asking for the eta of my car they had not looked at it yet but it was up next. Hour 4 comes around I show up at Midas it still hasn't been looked at and they said it would be another hour or two. I wish they would had notified me from the beginning or after the two hour marker that it would take that long it is unprofessional and frustrating. read more

This place sucks! I took a truck there for a break job.. they ended up replacing all rotors and drums, which I thought may be needed and charged me 1200 I found out later that I could have saved hundreds going to a fee other places around town. I also had a shifting issue on the same truck, Midas told me that I needed a new valve body and it would cost over 3k to fix. They charged me 150 for a diagnosis fee. I got a second opinion from AAMCO on the shifting issue, they had no diagnostic fee and fixed my problem with a speed sensor and 500 dollars. Midas would have charged me 3k and still would not have fixed my issue. These guys are either dumb or con artists or both... read more

I left my car for a oil change and their free tire rotation. I was was told it would take 2 hours as they were very busy. I called back after 2 hours and was told it would be 2 more hours. I called 2 hours later they said they needed 2 more hours. Finally picked up car after 7 hours. They did change the oil but said they didn't have time to rotate tires. read more

Great experience, really great. I had a slow tire leak and they got me in the next morning. I called several places, all of which were pretty full--and one which advertsied tire repair do not really want jobs like this. Tried Midas...phone woman was very personable and explained exactly how to get there--the Yelp map shows totally wrong wrong location!!! Same woman greeted me at front desk and got me signed up. Very careful to get the correct torque settings for my uncommon Alfa. She offered to take a chair outside for me to sit if I wanted to -- beautiful day. She is a real "car gal" we had fun talking cars! The tech who did my car was very efficient and pleasant also. We have been using Midas in Georgetown for our company vehicles for a couple of years. In December we took our 2500 Chevy & our F350 in for a synthetic oil change. We made the mistake of trusting that an extra set of keys w/key fob that were in the center console cup holder of the F350 would not go missing. They happened to be on a vintage "Snap On Tools " key chain. When the truck returned, I called Midas and without accusing anyone, asked if someone may have shown the key chain to someone and forgot to put it back in the cup holder. Well, you know what the answer was.....Fast forward to my recent $300.00 + key & fob replacement. That brings the $500.00 F350 oil change + the $185.00 Chevy oil change and the $300.00 stolen key replacement to almost $1000.00. I called in for a prepurchase check up. I was told to come in and wait for a slot, but as soon as I got there they were able to pull me right in as they had an opening at that time. Don't remember the managers name but he was courteous, proessional and started the paperwork right after I entered. The mechanic assigned to check the car was Jesse, a knowledgeable mechanic and very customer friendly. He invited me to observe the inspection with him while pointing things out and explaining things to me. I never expected that! I like to be involved and I was. Hats off to Jesse! I was expecting Jesse to tell me the car needs all kinds of things so they could make money off me but instead he said the car is pretty decent, it just needs a few things done. I was very happy to hear that. I don't live in the area as I was just shopping at a local dealership, but I would confidently go to them for regular car service if I did. After paying $400 for the initial brake work, Charles the manager is unwilling to take full responsibility for the mechanic's poor judgment and now wants me to pay for the actual needed work in addition to the $400 I already paid.
