My experience with Discount Tire was mixed: Good - Employees are very courteous and helpful. Good - Very reasonable price for service. Bad - Very long wait time. I went in on a Wednesday morning (10am) to have 4 tires mounted. It wasn't completed until 12:30 (took an hour longer than they estimated). Bad - Not enough seating to accommodate the large number of people waiting for their cars. Bad - I had to spend two and a half hours listening to absolutely dreadful Christian Country music that they had playing (loudly) in the lobby. Guys, if you think that music will lead people to Jesus, you might want to think again. It's more likely to have the opposite effect. read more

Bait and switched us on not one, but two sets of tires. Sales guy sold us Cooper LT 10 ply all terrain tires for my truck. I wanted LT because I sometimes tow which we communicated to them. When I got home I noticed they were Cooper all terrains but they are standard load rated. The receipt shows the correct tires we ended up with so we did pay correctly for what we got, but we were sold and installed a different tire than what we were lead to believe we were buying. I assumed maybe the guy accidentally selected the wrong Cooper tire in the computer. But a week later the same thing happened again for my wife's car. We chose a set of Falken tires. When she got home I noticed they had installed Yokohamas. Again the receipt was correct and we were told we were buying one tire but the sales guy switched out the tire at checkout or at some point when we didn't notice. We called up and asked about this and they babbled about stock issues and/or it was an upgrade. The Yokohama is a fine tire and we're ok staying with that. But I am not happy that I'm towing with a lesser rated tire on my truck now. I guess I should have been more attentive and double checked what they were doing, but also, I shouldn't have to. Honesty and transparency should be the norm. The employees were very nice and treated us well otherwise. I have had great experiences at Discount Tire (other locations) in the past and overall I was very let down by the Georgetown location. read more

I have done business with this location since it opened. I have always had a pleasant experience. I have been treated fairly. Today I took my car in because there was a nail in my tire. I arrived early to get in line with a plan to leave my car and pick it up after work. This location opens at 8. I have to say I was very impressed when representatives opened the doors early and came out to engage customers that were waiting to see how we could be helped! Called them on a Tuesday morning to replace my tires and get an after market set of rims. They were able to get me in same day. Unfortunately they would've had to order the rims I wanted but the person helping me was able to find something comparable and sold it to me the same price (amazing)! Great service, waiting area could use some coffee or water. Sorry if it's there and I didn't see but it's between a Wendy's and Arby's so if you're hungry walk next door. I had to knock a star off cause when I went to drive off the TPMS was on so I had to go back inside to have it reset. Minor detail NBD. I'll be back anytime I need tires. read more

I've been here 2 times now to get my car and tires serviced. Prices are good, service is fast and staff is very nice and knowledgeable. They can get pretty busy but I've noticed they handle each customer with care and kindness, even when the customer is being difficult. I was impressed with how efficient they run everything. I got my tires here a while ago. I was pleased with the service and efficiency of the store. They emailed ME and told me it was time for my FREE tire rotation. ((It IS? Ummmmm... thanks for the reminder. I didn't realize it was time already. )) Tires rotated. (No charge.) I notice some reviews mentioned that they were charged. I bought my tires there and have Road Hazard coverage so maybe that matters? Wiper blades inspected and declared ok. Tire pressure and balance checked. All was fine. In and out in 30 minutes (with an appointment. I always try to schedule an appointment if not an urgent unexpected tire emergency.) I love the Georgetown Discount Tire. If it hadn't been pouring rain today, I would have walked to the fast food place next door for lunch or coffee. They will text when your vehicle is done. Also they do air checks in a drive through lane. Any Discount Tire. Any tires. The lines aren't bad on week days so I try to stop every few months for a quick free air check and top off. read more

My worse experience. Yesterday, Thursday, I set an appointment for today for a tire rotation and balance. I set it for 1:15PM today and arrived 15 minutes early. I mentioned to the attendant that I had another appointment at 3PM and they reassured me that it shouldn't be long and I should be out the door by 2:05-2:15PM. An attendant finally calls me over at 2:30PM to go over their findings (which were none) and stated it should be another half hour. I then mention that I had an appointment at 3PM and that I had already let staff know. I finally got into my vehicle by 2:51PM. Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to my next appointment time and I was charged a no-show fee. For a tire rotation and balance to be nearly 2 hours for a set appointment is awful. Their website even states that appointments are 30% faster. Additionally, I have driven my truck for 200 miles since the service today and my low tire pressure light has still not turned off. This is not something I had before arriving and getting service. read more

This location told me I needed $2500 worth of new tires! When I indeed did not! I knew it wasn't the tires, I asked them to drive it... they said they didn't need to. It was tread separation and would cause a blow out. The fear tactic does not work with me! It just made me angry! Best service compared to any tire shop and by far the best customer service over any other discount location. I felt as if they could empathize with my situation each time. To be specific, John helped me this time and exceeded expectations. He not only greeted and updated each person in line, but after their transaction he went around updating them. I came on a very busy morning and still each staff member I had an interaction with was friendly and professional. One staff brought my dog water as we were waiting outside. I've visited other locations such as the one in Palestine, tx and the service was awful, aggressive and offensive. Instead of completing a purchase there after a blow out, I decided to wait to come back to the Georgetown location. Went in for two new tires and asked for price comparable to previous ones we had gotten from them since out of stock on ones we wanted. The associate was too busy trying to upsell me that I had to call my husband to look up the available tires online with the size we need to see what to get and he found some only $25 more per tire that they had. I asked the assoc. and he looked disappointed and annoyed and pulled those up on the screen and said they had those. He had previously pulled up tires which were over $100 more per tire and said that's all they had that would work. He basically tried to lie to me and scam me- probably because I'm a woman and don't know much about tires. To add insult to injury now I have to go back in to get the TPMS fixed because they didn't do it like the guy said he would. The light is still on and I drove it all weekend and it has not gone off, like they said it would when I asked that day at pick-up. I wish I hadn't gotten tired here and hadn't paid extra for the certificate, so I can go elsewhere. I'll come back for minor fixes but will never buy tires from here again. They just see you as a number and a dollar sign. It's a shame because they seem friendly at first and making appointments online are easy. But it's not worth going there if you can't trust them not to scam you and to do their job correctly. read more

I arrived ten minutes before they opened (8am), and there was already a line waiting outside the door! Knowing I had another appointment at ten that I really didn't want to reschedule, I wasn't feeling too optimistic about getting out of there on time. As soon as the doors opened, a swarm of staff came out to greet customers and get them started. The inside was also well-staffed. The line moved fairly quickly, and I was able to get serviced quickly as well. I went in for a leaky tire, turns out I needed all new tires. I told them I had an appointment and they said they would do their best to get me out in time for it. Despite how crowded it was, they had the whole thing done by 9:20! The staff was very friendly, communicative, and efficient. Even with it being crowded, it didn't seem to affect their service. I would go there again in a heartbeat based on this experience. read more

Bought new rims for my car. Overall very pleased with the service I received. The only warning I will give is their delivery estimate on new rims is not accurate. My first choice of rim showed availability of 1-2 days. After I placed my order I got a call from the manager saying that his supplier was out of stock and it would be 2 months. I then picked a second rim design. Again, it showed available in 1-2 days. I finally got them spit on the car 2 weeks later. I will commend them on their communication throughout though. I received regular updates on the status. When I arrived they knew who I was and why I was there. 45 minutes after arriving I drove away with beautiful new rims. read more

Awesome job by these guys! My cars low tire pressure light came on. After inspection, found two nails in two different tires. Drove to this location and after a bit of a line, (very busy) the technician went out to my car and processed it for repair. I bought these tires and warranty in Ca. And was very pleased it covered it here. The Staff was very friendly and cool, and although they had a very steady line, they got everyone taken care of quickly. I bought tires there about three years ago at the Georgetown location. It was a good experience. That experience is no more. I have a slow leak in my tire. I noticed today as I was leaving for work as the pressure indicator went off. I could even see the mail in the tire. I stopped at Discount Tire on the same Georgetown store and waited in the line. I got to the front and told the clerk I have a slow leak. I asked if they swap for the spare tire and I'll be back whenever it is ready - no rush. Nope. He said I'd have to be inprocessed and wait. He pointed at this computer, which seems to have some sort of wait list displayed. I told him I can't wait as I'm already late for work. As I was walking away, I stopped just outside the door. I walked back in and asked how long it would take to just swap the tire. He said at least an hour. An hour? To swap a spare and let me be on my way... So no one can grab one of the *11* hydraulic jacks sitting just outside the door and swap out my tire. You can have the tire as long as it takes. Nope. An hour. I left. Some people have to be at work. Won't be back. read more

The last three times I went to Discount Tire they got the air pressure wrong. Once the pressure was seven pounds different between the two front tires. Usually, the tires are off between three and four pounds. I alerted the manager in advance to this problem; he assured me that my tires would be filled correctly. My tire had a nail in the side wall. I never saw any proof so slightly skeptical but I will always trust experts in their given field. Was able to get a simular tire in and replace in less than 24 hours which was great. Biggest issue was the new gash I received on my bumper ... not sure if I would recommend this tire shop. read more

My wife & I arrived @ 1pm, Thursday, 7/11/24, needing a flat fixed & tire rotation. We did not make appointment since we've had bad experiences with their appointment times. We were told it would be approximately 5:30 pm before they could get to us. I thought that IS a long time, but needed it done for a trip next week. A man & his son came in after 4pm, the man started complaining about his wait, "this is ridiculous!" He was told his Jeep would be the next vehicle in the first bay. I spoke out & said, "What about the rest of us?" So that tells me if I would have complained earlier our Jeep would have been serviced sooner. I asked Santiago for our keys @ 5:30pm & we left. 7/9/21 Brand new car. A lot of construction in our new neighborhood. Picked up a nail. Have the tire warranty from the Hyundai dealership. Call to get it fixed. Could not fix a flat until the 2nd week in AUGUST - SERIOUSLY !! That's like NO WARRANTY!! Wife ran car over to Discount Tire in Georgetown, which is Always SUPER Busy. There was a lull and they worked her right in. 38 minutes later she was done. We have the discount tire warranty on 4 other vehicles we own. On a car a week old, she bought the discount tire warrant for all the tires. Tires ...... it's what they do !! Mixed reviews, but that's because Georgetown has grown so much and they're over run with business !! My wife had a GREAT Experience !! read more

I would just like to say that Will and Gunner (I hope I'm spelling that right) were so amazingly helpful and sweet throughout this whole process. Come Christmas morning to find out I had a flat tire. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year at that! However they walked me through all of my options, and wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal possible considering I travel basically an hour to work each day. They were super accommodating and were easily able to pull up all of my information from the other location I visited which was in a different state. They even gave recommendations of places I can get an alignment since they do not offer that service at their specific location. The patience and courteousness to answer every question despite my concern, and frustration was commendable. I am still bummed I have to wait a couple of extra days for the specific tires to come in, but the delivery and service is still pretty fast regardless and I won't be missing work because of it. I only spoke to these two gentlemen, but even having my mom on the call to listen in I can tell they care about their customers and the work they provide. Thank for you spreading the holiday spirit despite the mishaps that may occur during this hectic time of the year. read more
