I was very impressed with the staff knowledge of their products without being pushy. I tried the pair that I wanted on, but they didn't have the color I wanted in my size. They gladly checked the Fleet Feet in Santa Cruz to see if they had the color and sure enough they did! I was able to pay for the shoes the same day and they said that in two days I should hear from them that they had the shoes at the Monterey store. Sure enough, on Saturday I got a call and the shoes had arrived. I was out of town, but the employee assured me they would be waiting for me when I arrived. I picked the shoes up tonight after calling to confirm their close time (Yelp says 6 pm, but I called and they actually close at 7 pm). Since I was able to make it after work (score!-I work in Salinas so the original posted 6 pm close time would have been cutting it too close) I got my shoes tonight and ran 3 miles in them. Needless to say, I am very happy with this stores selection, customer service, non-pushy attitude, attentiveness and flexible hours. I will definitely be back next time I need my running shoes. Since it was getting cold and starting to rain, we ended up stopping by here to get some jackets. The store has a small, but had a really nice selection of items. Service was good here too. When we got to the store, there was a nice arrangement of shoes in a well-organized and clean looking store. We measured my son's foot and it was just in between kids sizes and adult sizes so they were a little hard to find on our own. The associate Kai helped us out. He pulled out some Saucony shoes, two kinds and two sizes for us to try. they don't have half size so we tried another brand. We finally chose the right pair of Nikes. Kai was personable, knowledgeable, and helpful in every way. My son loved the shoes. I liked the price. Kai rang us up and put us into the reward program. I ended up with two pairs of boots and two pairs of flats, and an umbrella. They earned my business for life! The flats have made airport/business travel so much easier. He wore them to fish on the rocks, (salt water) thinking he was ready for new ones anyway, but they're still good! He just dried them out and brushed them off and wore them to work for the rest of the summer. I finally got around to ordering him a new pair. The store keeps your information on file so a phone call is all it takes to order new boots. You don't have to go in to be fitted each time. My husband has found a style he likes and he's been buying the same boot for many years. You can check out all their styles online, which I did, but turns out he was already buying the best one. Maybe I just got lucky but the person I dealt with on the phone and in the store was Roberto. He took time with me on the phone when I was checking out the different features of the newer boots online. He was patient and knowledgeable, answered all my questions. I'm reeeeeeely sensitive about service. HATE spending money in a store where the employees aren't courteous. Don't we all? Seems like sometimes these days we don't have a choice but Roberto made this shopping experience a pleasure and like I said, the boots are the BEST.
