I had a great experience here on Sunday. I went in looking to buy new Birkenstocks. The lady who helped me was super sweet and helpful. She was quick to grab me different sizes and styles. Their prices are the same as most stores and their selection was good. I really liked my experience shopping here and left with two new pairs of birks. read more

I bought comfortable shoes at Hedi's Shoes at the DelMonte Shopping center and she was most helpful. Unfortunately, they are no longer there anymore. There is a Hedi's at the barnyard still as far as I know. read more

The service from a young, knowledgable salesperson was wonderful. Beautiful quality shoes, from conservative to trendy.

Great selection of men's and women's top of the line comfort shoes. Very helpful owner.

Thank you for the wonderful service!!! Not only do they carry a wide variety of high-quality shoes. The person waiting on me asked good questions which helped me to figure out what would be best for my needs. She was very helpful. read more

The employee at Del Monte Plaza needs to learn how to approach a customer and act like she cares that you want to look at shoes. I was the only person in the store. Her responses were a turn off. I left and will never return. read more

I was so grateful that they were able to help me. I was in from out of town and only had one insert. Yes I only had one, left the other one at home! This was a tragedy, because I have sever Crohn's and my ankles swell and I have all kinds of problems without them. I called the other store because they answered and said that the store on Ocean ave was open on New Year''s Day They helped me find a pair that was perfect. So my little dog and I were able to walk around town, have lunch and enjoy our day, the beautiful weather and walk! Thank you! read more

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Hedi's on Ocean Avenue. Grace was my sales associate and gave wonderful recommendations without being pushy. She helped me find well-priced and beautiful shoes for my problematic feet. I have bunions and have a hard time finding chic shoes. The shoes at this store are much better quality and better priced than high end shoes for bunions such as Ally or Sole Bliss. This is my go to store, moving forward! read more

I want to highly recommend this store in the Del Monte mall in Carmel. Not only are their shoes of the highest quality, the customer service - especially from Lauren - was exceptional. I purchased some suede ankle boots in January and although an exchange for wider boots was not possible (out of stock in spring) she offered to professionally stretch them for 2 days. When I picked them up she showed me the stretching parts and suggested I put them on to see how the stretched pair felt. They were a perfect fit. Now they are pillows on my feet. Lauren didn't have to help me. The store made no profit from her time spent helping me. In this age of poor customer service, Lauren and Hedi's renewed my faith in good people. They have other locations so please look them up. And in Carmel, be sure to ask for Lauren. read more

Staff does not seem to understand the important concept of customer retention. I would have gladly returned to this store multiple times (and spent thousands of dollars) in the future but will instead avoid it like the plague due to rude customer service. read more

I bought a pair of very nice-looking designer brand shoes at Hedi's which I only used once for a meeting one month after purchase. It unfortunately gave me a very painful aching sore, and when I inspected the shoe, the make of the shoe had edges in the inside created by overlapping pieces of leather which rubbed against my skin and created this sore. The design of the shoe then caused this sore. After complaining, the staff was nice enough to allow an exchange though beyond the return policy. read more

We decided to visit Hedi's after my sister found out they sell Birkenstocks and they are great if you are suffering from (suspected) plantar fasciitis. The saleswoman was so kind and helpful. She spent lots of time with us starting by pulling all the shoes she thought would help. She was extremely knowledgeable. We ended up with two pairs of shoes--Birkenstocks & SAS. The SAS shoes helped right away and the Birkenstocks, no doubt, will soon (takes a few days to break them in). What a gem of a shoe store and, more importantly, a gem of a saleswoman! I am only sorry I forgot her name. read more

Super cute little shop, with way more than shoes--though I didn't need anything, I actually wanted shelter from the rain, but kudos to the store because of their waters, I actually tried out a pair of their patterned sneakers. They were oddly uncomfortable though to be honest, I think that's cuz my feet might be misshapen. The people there were helpful and apologetic when they got back from their lunch hour and found me waiting there. read more

I was sent to Hedi's shoes because of a condition with my feet. I need to wear extra wide shoes. I felt like I was judged on the way I was dressed that I wasn't a serious shopper. Unfortunately, I left without purchasing shoes and made a purchase in Gilroy. I won't be back to be judged on my taste in clothing. You loss my business. read more

I am so impressed with Shoe Salesperson Lauren, that I am giddy! I called looking for a pair of shoes that had been discontinued. She was determined to find them for me! She called around to the other Hedi's locations and even researched where I might find them at different online stores! Low and behold there was a pair in my size hiding at their Alvarado Street store! I pick them up tomorrow or I would post the picture now! Lauren is an exemplary employee! She exudes the epitome of good old-fashioned customer service! I hope her superiors and owner of the business commend her on her outstanding loyalty to the business by doing them so proudly! A good employee like this is very hard to fine! I hope she serves as inspiration for other employees to do the same! Thanks again Lauren! Thanks again Hedis for carrying this Birckenstock Papillio shoe, which they are amazing quality! Your faithful customer Lourdes read more

Had the best experience here! My dad has very specific shoe needs due to his health conditions, and not only did Elizabeth know exactly what would work for him, she patiently worked with him for quite some time to find the perfect shoes and inserts for him. They have a fantastic selection of men's and women's shoes, we'll definitely go back. read more

A while back I was struggling with plantar fascias and went looking for a pair of slippers with a really good arch. I found them there. They are wonderful. I couldn't find slippers with much of any arch before that. I wore them into the ground. I was so happy with them that I'm going back today for another pair and some sandals with a good arch as well. They are pricey but worth it! read more

Ash was extremely helpful and friendly to my wife and I. Great find with great high quality shoes and friendly staff.

I went in here with multiple foot problems and Ash was so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. He brought out several shoes for me to try and wasn't pressuring in the least bit. I ended up purchasing one pair and wore them out of the store because they made my feet so happy. Thank you, Ash! read more

My favorite shoe store, both in the Barnyard shopping center and the store on Ocean!! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The shoes are good quality. We are in the area once a year and make it a point to stop in at Hedi's. Weve purchased boots, flats, and shoes for my husband!! We are pleased every time!! read more

I can't say enough good about this place. The selection is wonderful, pricing is fair, and the service is unmatched. Ash spent a solid hour with us helping my mother find shoes, she had many foot problems and he was lovely and patient. She found multiple pairs! :) read more

This is a review of the Hedi's in downtown Carmel (not the Barnyard Shopping Center). It's a tradition (for over a decade now) for me to stop at Hedi's each time we visit or bring visitors to Carmel because they carry well-made and COMFORTABLE (albeit pricey) shoes. It's one of those places that you shop at because you don't find those brands at your local shopping mall. I've spent quite a bit of my vacation money at Hedi's in the past. Another reviewer mentioned a woman who was helpful. The last few times I've visited, there's a guy there who stands and watches people silently - and I've not found him to be terribly welcoming (a greeting would be nice) or helpful or conversational. It definitely did not give me the come-again vibe. Now, I much prefer to head to Lloyd's down on Ocean Avenue for better customer service. read more

I was visiting Monterey and I wandered into this store on a Saturday afternoon to browse the inventory. The team was so patient and helpful and fun to be with. So I returned the next day, when I decided to bravely go for a snazzier shoe than I would typically wear and Ash gave me a great experience. He pulled lots of options, no pressure on the sale, and made it a fun experience with several of us shopping and comparing what looked best. And, I love my new shoe purchase! read more

Ash was super nice... and we found a pair of Gabor shoes that we have been looking for forever! The clearance section downstairs may have some hidden treasures if you're willing to hunt. read more

I have a balance issue as a result of a neurological condition. I went into the store on Ocean in Carmel. Ed waited on me and really showed me a great deal of service. Have been looking for a dressy pair of black shoes for a rehearsal dinner and have hit most shoe stores around the Carmel/Monterey area. The Hedi's in Del Monte center suggested the store in downtown Carmel as the selection is better. Ash was the sales person today and after trying so hard to find something that wasn't too high, too pointy, too uncomfortable, etc. that we almost decided to wait for the fall arrivals but.....Ash gave it one more try and came out with a very unique, comfortable, and fun Italian shoe/sandal that fit perfectly! It is a fairly expensive shoe but alas, it was half off as it was the only one left! He was so helpful and attentive and really was understanding of the kind of shoe I was looking for. His perseverance paid off and I left feeling not only happy with my purchase but appreciative for such a wonderful salesperson! read more

I would like Express my thanks on my experience with Elizabeth at Hedi's shoes. I was on a search to find a certain shoe that I found out was discontinued. Elizabeth worked over and above to find me the shoes I was looking for. Since I was calling from another State this was all done via phone calls, but that didn't stop her from finding my shoes, I can honestly say this was the best customer service I have ever received! read more

When I am in Carmel I drop by different shops to see if they have unique offerings. I enjoy looking at new styles at this store, and enjoy the many upscale brands they have. Of course, for a value-conscious person like me, I am astounded at the prices of some of the shoes here at Hedi's, as in $400+ Mephistos. Yes I know that brand is always pricey, but the rest of the other shoes on display, all are in the $100 up range. They have Allen Edmonds, pikolinos, Born I think, expensive American and European brands. Hardly anything on sale. Still an enjoyable place to visit and get ideas, because, sometimes I will see the same Mephisto at Nordstroms or even their Rack branch for half off as they are a few years model old. If however you are hard to fit and you find a real comfortable shoe at this place, go for it. They do have an extensive selection. read more

Accompanied wife to look for a pair of comfortable walking shoes for her while visiting Carmel. She bought two pairs from Ash at Hedi's. I was very impressed with his knowledge of how shoes should fit and what my wife needed based on her feedback on how the shoes he brought out felt. Equally impressive was that he was trying to find the RIGHT shoes for her and not up-sell her on more expensive product that wouldn't fit as well. She walked out feeling she got the right shoes at a fair price. Thank you for your deep knowledge of the products and your excellent service Ash! read more

Hedi's Shoes - New shoes - Shoe Stores Near Me - Carmel, California

I happened to go into Heidi's to try some shoes on for size, thinking I'd buy them online later. But one of the employees, Ash, came out, asked what I was looking for, and soon helped me try on about 20 pairs of shoes. I ended up walking away with two new pairs! The prices might be a little bit higher than other stores but the service makes it worth it! Ash not only knew sizing and brand tendencies, he had style advice and care instructions to help the shoes last longest! He turned the whole experience into a really relaxing and enjoyable one. I completely recommend and will definitely be back! read more

They offer a great selection of shoes and Ed is amazing! He knows so much about feet and figured out what my needs were. I paid $300 for custom orthotics several years ago at Kaiser which weren't quite doing the job. I purchased some insoles that he recommend and my feet are now super happy. read more

This is the best shoe store in town! Especially the barnyard location which is usually less crowded than the one on Ocean. I really admire that this business has been family run for the last 30 years. They have a fantastic selection and a wonderful staff. The only place to buy your shoes if you are in Carmel! read more

I purchased a pair of shoes in the Carmel store and after wearing them for an hour they gave me horrible blisters. I happened to be in The Barnyard the next day and when I saw another Heidi's I stopped in and showed Shara and she was really helpful with lacing techniques and pads. She gave me her card and said if they still didn't work just call her and she'd make it right. Sounds great but I've called and called...either she's "gone" or "not in yet" and left messages on the store answering machine. She has no e-mail and you can't contact her through the website. UPDATE: I was able to reach Shara who could not have been more apologetic or gracious and refunded me completely for the shoes. read more
