I was so grateful that they were able to help me. I was in from out of town and only had one insert. Yes I only had one, left the other one at home! I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Hedi's on Ocean Avenue. Grace was my sales associate and gave wonderful recommendations without being pushy. She helped me find well-priced and beautiful shoes for my problematic feet. I have bunions and have a hard time finding chic shoes. The shoes at this store are much better quality and better priced than high end shoes for bunions such as Ally or Sole Bliss. This is my go to store, moving forward! read more

I want to highly recommend this store in the Del Monte mall in Carmel. Not only are their shoes of the highest quality, the customer service - especially from Lauren - was exceptional. I purchased some suede ankle boots in January and although an exchange for wider boots was not possible (out of stock in spring) she offered to professionally stretch them for 2 days. When I picked them up she showed me the stretching parts and suggested I put them on to see how the stretched pair felt. They were a perfect fit. Now they are pillows on my feet. Lauren didn't have to help me. The store made no profit from her time spent helping me. In this age of poor customer service, Lauren and Hedi's renewed my faith in good people. They have other locations so please look them up. And in Carmel, be sure to ask for Lauren. read more

I bought a pair of very nice-looking designer brand shoes at Hedi's which I only used once for a meeting one month after purchase. It unfortunately gave me a very painful aching sore, and when I inspected the shoe, the make of the shoe had edges in the inside created by overlapping pieces of leather which rubbed against my skin and created this sore. The design of the shoe then caused this sore. After complaining, the staff was nice enough to allow an exchange though beyond the return policy. read more

We decided to visit Hedi's after my sister found out they sell Birkenstocks and they are great if you are suffering from (suspected) plantar fasciitis. The saleswoman was so kind and helpful. She spent lots of time with us starting by pulling all the shoes she thought would help. She was extremely knowledgeable. We ended up with two pairs of shoes--Birkenstocks & SAS. The SAS shoes helped right away and the Birkenstocks, no doubt, will soon (takes a few days to break them in). What a gem of a shoe store and, more importantly, a gem of a saleswoman! Super cute little shop, with way more than shoes--though I didn't need anything, I actually wanted shelter from the rain, but kudos to the store because of their waters, I actually tried out a pair of their patterned sneakers. They were oddly uncomfortable though to be honest, I think that's cuz my feet might be misshapen. I am so impressed with Shoe Salesperson Lauren, that I am giddy! I called looking for a pair of shoes that had been discontinued. She was determined to find them for me! She called around to the other Hedi's locations and even researched where I might find them at different online stores! Low and behold there was a pair in my size hiding at their Alvarado Street store! I pick them up tomorrow or I would post the picture now! Lauren is an exemplary employee! A while back I was struggling with plantar fascias and went looking for a pair of slippers with a really good arch. I found them there. They are wonderful. I couldn't find slippers with much of any arch before that. I wore them into the ground. I was so happy with them that I'm going back today for another pair and some sandals with a good arch as well. This is a review of the Hedi's in downtown Carmel (not the Barnyard Shopping Center). It's a tradition (for over a decade now) for me to stop at Hedi's each time we visit or bring visitors to Carmel because they carry well-made and COMFORTABLE (albeit pricey) shoes. It's one of those places that you shop at because you don't find those brands at your local shopping mall. I've spent quite a bit of my vacation money at Hedi's in the past. Another reviewer mentioned a woman who was helpful. The last few times I've visited, there's a guy there who stands and watches people silently - and I've not found him to be terribly welcoming (a greeting would be nice) or helpful or conversational. It definitely did not give me the come-again vibe. Now, I much prefer to head to Lloyd's down on Ocean Avenue for better customer service. read more

Have been looking for a dressy pair of black shoes for a rehearsal dinner and have hit most shoe stores around the Carmel/Monterey area. The Hedi's in Del Monte center suggested the store in downtown Carmel as the selection is better. Ash was the sales person today and after trying so hard to find something that wasn't too high, too pointy, too uncomfortable, etc. that we almost decided to wait for the fall arrivals but.....Ash gave it one more try and came out with a very unique, comfortable, and fun Italian shoe/sandal that fit perfectly! It is a fairly expensive shoe but alas, it was half off as it was the only one left! He was so helpful and attentive and really was understanding of the kind of shoe I was looking for. I happened to go into Heidi's to try some shoes on for size, thinking I'd buy them online later. But one of the employees, Ash, came out, asked what I was looking for, and soon helped me try on about 20 pairs of shoes. I ended up walking away with two new pairs! The prices might be a little bit higher than other stores but the service makes it worth it! Ash not only knew sizing and brand tendencies, he had style advice and care instructions to help the shoes last longest! He turned the whole experience into a really relaxing and enjoyable one. When I am in Carmel I drop by different shops to see if they have unique offerings. I enjoy looking at new styles at this store, and enjoy the many upscale brands they have. Of course, for a value-conscious person like me, I am astounded at the prices of some of the shoes here at Hedi's, as in $400+ Mephistos. Yes I know that brand is always pricey, but the rest of the other shoes on display, all are in the $100 up range. They have Allen Edmonds, pikolinos, Born I think, expensive American and European brands. Hardly anything on sale. Still an enjoyable place to visit and get ideas, because, sometimes I will see the same Mephisto at Nordstroms or even their Rack branch for half off as they are a few years model old. If however you are hard to fit and you find a real comfortable shoe at this place, go for it. They do have an extensive selection. read more

I purchased a pair of shoes in the Carmel store and after wearing them for an hour they gave me horrible blisters. I happened to be in The Barnyard the next day and when I saw another Heidi's I stopped in and showed Shara and she was really helpful with lacing techniques and pads. She gave me her card and said if they still didn't work just call her and she'd make it right. Sounds great but I've called and called...either she's "gone" or "not in yet" and left messages on the store answering machine. She has no e-mail and you can't contact her through the website. UPDATE: I was able to reach Shara who could not have been more apologetic or gracious and refunded me completely for the shoes. read more
