I was a little hesitant going to this boutique after I read negative reviews here but you have to take these reviews with a grain of salt. I had passed by the store while it was closed and went back the next day when it opened at 10am. The sales person greeted me and I browsed around. A lot of clothes in this store and good quality with a reasonable price. I found a pair of parachute jeans that I bought. For the quality, the price was reasonable. Nice little boutique in Monterey. Was in Monterey for a high tea fundraiser and had some time to spare when this darling botique caught my eye with the soft colors and beautifully created table displays. It's any girl/woman would like as their closet just so feminine and beautiful. They also carry beautiful men's clothing. Everything was just so soft and pretty. The PJ sets are ultra soft and would make wonderful holiday gifts for guests and friends. The store is clean, spacious and inviting. Immediately upon entering the store the girl at the register welcomed us like a friend, she's the sweetest. A great place for a lovely shopping experience. I would definitely check it out if you're in the Monterey area, we walked over to wharf after, so super close to restaurants. read more

Took my Girlfriend shopping while visiting Monterey and stopped in. She was very happy with the selection and ended up purchasing a few dresses. Staff was helpful with finding correct sizes and even took one off a mannequin so she could try it on. Will definitely come back or check out their other store in Salinas 5/5 read more

This has been one of the most odd experiences I've had in retail. As an aside: Let it be known that they do not take returns- store credit and exchanges with receipt only and this is for 2 weeks only and excludes sale items. In my case, the associate rang me up twice for something. When I noticed the extra charge that night, I called and emailed but got no response. I went in person and they were closed during their open hours. I came back in the afternoon and expected someone would be happy to help take care of the issue. Instead, I was asked "ok do want an exchange or store credit, how do you want to do this" (for an item I never bought mind you)... I firmly stated I wanted a return to my card for the erroneous charge. The person at the desk tapped away at her cell phone then says "I need to call her" as she walks into the back room. Over 5 minutes later she comes back to the front and asks me to step aside so she can ring the next person up. I ask "how long might this take?" She replies "um well we need the order number and I need to look if up so there's no telling" I reminded her that the order number is on the receipt and she continues helping the next person in line. Eventually she asks me for the order number on my receipt and asks if she can return the funds in cash. I agree and she says "ok we are all set". No apology for the inconvenience and my goodness were there many- I left there after 20 minutes due to the stores error. The attitude of the store was something I have never seen. We were taken aback by the service. When we entered the store we were told that we had 10 minutes, with an aggressive customer service representative. We proceeded to shop within our 10 minutes window. During that time, we watched three other groups be declined at the door, and she refused to take my clothing into the dressing room. When checking out we asked if we had done something to upset her, and she refused to answer. We asked for her name, she refused to answer, we then asked for the managers name which she said we could look up. We purchased our items (over $200) and called the number on website To connect with a manager. It was disconnected. I bought a hat for my wife with in 30 minutes I decided to return it because of the colour I went back to return it I was very disappointed with the woman customer service she told me that I can't return it or change it or get a store credit . I asked her why she said this is store policy which I didn't know about or she forgot to mention it and she tried to give me a card for store policy I told her she supposed to mention it before purchase She told me if I didn't leave the store she will call the police Then I left the item on her counter and told her to keep it This message is for the owner of the store please fire this lady her name is jenny because the way she treats the customers The one star is only for the nice store read more

Super cute boutique downtown Monterey. They have very cute pieces that are all reasonably priced. They are making sure to adhere to COVID safety guidelines. Everyone must wear masks. Customers may try on clothes (any items you do not wish to purchase are steamed again before they are returned to the shop floor). The staff was super nice and friendly. I appreciate that she reminded a customer, who was not wearing a mask, to please do so to keep everyone safe while shopping. I will definitely be stopping by anytime I'm in the area. read more

Buyer beware! Anything purchased at Bliss on sale is absolutely NON-REFUNDABLE!! They do not even give their customers a store credit within their two-week return allowance for unworn non-seasonal jeans with all tags attached. Pay attention to all parts of their Return Policy card that's stapled to receipt. They MEAN it!!! Nice merchandise, but unusual and VERY limited customer service policies. read more

My mom went in to purchase some items and when she asked about the return policy the associate was unsure. A few weeks later she returned and tried to clarify and was met with smug attitudes from two of the girls working at the time. They were short and rude and didn't try to provide any solutions. I went in to use a gift card and tried for the third time to clarify the return policy and after politely mentioning that some of their employees had been rude to my mom I was met with the same short temper and smugness by Alexa at checkout. Won't be returning, and it's really such a bummer because I love their clothes and they always have a great selection, but three strikes and your out. This is my absolute favorite clothing store of all time! I always find something at Bliss (Monterey, Salinas, and now on their website as well) I am always so impressed with how adorable everything is and with how reasonable the prices always are! My husband even loves me shopping here bc I always come back in a happy mood . One of my favorite things about Bliss is that everything in the store is always so soft and feels great to wear - cute & comfortable! The girls working there are so helpful and never too overbearing. Even with the great prices Bliss often has sales items that are hard to pass up and I always look forward to their outdoor clearance sale in Salinas during the summer. So much good stuff to comb through! This is my go-to place for gifts as they have a lot of accessories, cute gift packages/sets, and gift cards! The only reason this store gets one star is because the inventory was nice. The service was horrible. I entered the store with my two daughters and browsed for about 20 minutes. Nobody even acknowledged we were there other then eye contact. The store then got busy and the clerk asked my daughter to leave because they were at capacity. She had items set aside to purchase as did I. When she asked the clerk if she was serious? She was told it was store policy and she needed to leave. We were stunned at the rudeness. To make matters worse the clerk was overheard complaining to her coworker about my daughters reaction to her as if my daughter was in the wrong here. Instead of posting someone at the door to limit the customers coming in, she decided to pick a customer who was already shopping? It's not difficult to teach your staff basic customer service and polite behavior. Unfortunately, this establishment seems to have zero interest in this. Your nice clothes won't pay the rent when your ill mannered clerks chase away paying customers. Not only did you lose sales from us on Saturday, you lost repeat business as well as gaining negative publicity. read more
