Everything is her own design, which she handsews stitch by stitch herself. She explained that she uses premium leather that she gets from personal contacts (from when she was an interior designer) that produce leather as fine as those for Hermès. Like her bags, clutches, and wallets put Coach to shame, and if you put a Prada or LV emblem (minus the luxury brand specific designs, stitches, etc, of course), I would believe that her bags belonged in the same tier. I snatched the most classic looking snazzy bag because she doesn't usually make more of one kind of bag and will change up the color, style, etc. Please go in and support this talented local artist! If you enjoy quality luxury goods to splurge on once in a while, you won't be able to walk out here without a purchase! Mad an unexpected purchase as a belated birthday gift for my mother. I'm sorry but in the state of california thee is no law prohibiting pictures taken in a business place unless the store owner or manager has posted a sign which states no pictures allowed. In this case no sign was posted. Only a very rude manager who rates only 1 star. Anyway I wont be going back to this place. Also there merchandise is way overpriced.

When she tried to return / exchange them, the manager gave her the worst attitude and talked about having to take a loss! I repeated "ok well how much is it?" Without checking at all, she doubled down and said " it's like realllly expensive....like $900." I was shocked at her micro-aggression. I didn't want to interact with her any further nor did i want to spend my money there. So i said thank you and left. This is not how you represent small businesses and provide customer service. Teach your employees some etiquette.

The Club store that I experienced on my recent visit to Carmel was absolutely amazing, both in product and service. If you're looking to buy inexpensive clothing, this is not the place, nor do they make such claims. This creative, well made clothing is, in my opinion, quite fairly priced. Certainly a large selection of Robert Graham, a line that is not for everybody. But they have a wide variety of different lines, at different prices that are current, hip and great fitting. Otherwise, if IZOD is your preference, go elsewhere. The staff is top notch, and that's coming from a fellow retailer. They are friendly, extremely knowledgeable about their product lines and highly professional. Of course they want to make the sale. Isn't that what they are there for? But they certainly were not pushy or obnoxious about it and they were genuine and quite honest about their assessments. I actually was looking for an overcoat and found one elsewhere that was similar but less expensive. In the end, I went back to these fine folks at The Club to purchase their coat, just because they were such great people and such a pleasure to do business with. If you are male, visiting Carmel and have great taste in clothes, The Club should be your first stop. If your style is more "Dick Cheney Wear", save your money and hit your local mall once back from your trip. The Club is A+

My husband and I recently visited Carmel by the Sea for a weekend getaway. While there, we stopped into Augustina Leathers. We had been to Carmel, and this shop in particular on prior occassions, and always had been warmly greeted by the owner, Tracy and her helpful staff. Sometimes items caught my attention, and sometimes not. On this recent occasion, I was content to simply browse. Jennifer patiently helped me try on various items. Then I spotted a stunning red Zuki sheared beaver coat, which I also requested to try on. Tracy and Jennifer did not hesitate to secure a ladder and get the Zuki coat from off the high ledge for me to try on. Still, there was no high pressure selling here, but a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I left the store without the coat. It was a big expense . . . and, to complicate matters, my husband had tempted me also with a decision to be made . . . either the coat or one of the fine jewelry items I had seen in other shops! So, we visited (and re-visited) a few jewelry shops and a couple of other shops with furs, before we returned to Augustina's. Too bad it's not yet winter, or I would have worn the red Zuki s coat out of the shop rather than carrying it! Tracy, Lily and Jennifer professionally and expediently also obtained and sent to me the requested Certificate of Authenticity from the Canadian Fur Council with the serial number and description of the coat. Having traveled extensively, I appreciate the quality of merchandise at Augustina's. When coupled with a pleasant and knowledgeable owner and staff, Augustina's truly delivers. read more

I have been shopping for my long-time significant other, who is tinier than tiny (most size 0's are too big) other at Augustina's for over 10 years and have never been disappointed. Tracy, Oghie, Monique and the other Angels have always had great and different gift ideas over a wide range of price (from as little as $100 to as much as $5000) that have been very well made, stylish, unique, and high quality, as well as thoughtfully different from year to year. For the past three years, Augustina's custom-tailored very expensive, complex pieces specifically to my significant other's very petite measurements and taste (fitted, sleeves that don't have to be rolled up, etc.) and doing it with great success. Augustina's is one of the very few places willing to provide the level of service and thoughtful product selection (Tracy, Ogie, and Monique select and hold certain items just for me each year) that I need to be able to buy clothes as a gift. They meet promised deadlines without fail--including right around Christmas, when they invariably are very busy (and when I select what I want to buy). Augustina's is the best. read more

In traveling around the country visiting luxury retailers with the JED fall collection of Italian cashmere, I was invited to bring the collection to AUGUSTINA'S of Carmel. A landmark luxury fashion retailer in Carmel for 28 years the original store on Ocean ave, is filled with amazing luxe product. From one of kind designer furs to original leather outerwear crafted in a very artistic fashion there is something for everyone in this unique shopping experience. Men and women cannot pass up the assortment of luxurious leather outerwear and giftables. The sales team is by far the best I have encountered. Sharp, product savvy and extremely kind and helpful. They made my visit a most enjoyable and comfortable one, while servicing customers with finesse and expertise. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to shop here. I also really love when my husband shops for me here. This is by far my favorite place to shop in Carmel and have been shopping here for over ten years. The furs, dresses, leathers, and jewelry collections are first class for sure. My husband loves the high end golf shoes and has had a custom made jacket from this shop that he wears a lot. The owner and all the gals who work here are amazing. They pick out items for me that I think "hmmm, I would not pick that out" and they work perfectly on me... Beautiful store with great prices. Tracy is very fun and helpful. She knows a lot about the fur industry and helped us learn a lot about the various furs. She actually goes to the fashion shows in New York so her store always has the latest trends. Overall a great experience the 2 times we have gone. After the first time we had to come back. All the workers are very friendly and are open to helping us beyond just selling. They also remembered us from the first time which was months ago. Have been coming in since 1995, and have always had superb service to go along with the highest quality of products available. I am a local and frequently walk my dog by Augustina's and am always impressed with their front window displays. In my experience, the sales staff is friendly and knowledgable, and they do an excellent job gift wrapping. I can't bring my girlfriend in because she wants everything in the store, so I come in on my own time and pick out clothes and scarfs she loves wearing. I have been eyeing a leather jacket I wouldn't mind receiving from Santa in the months ahead. Augustina's was wonderful! My friend and I came to spend the day in Carmel to go shopping and walk around and we happened to walk into their doors! They had a beautiful selection of leather and I of course was spending most of my time trying on their amazing jewelry pieces. I just did some shopping in Carmel and my favorite store was Augustina's. I came home with beautiful leather coat (it makes me look skinny) and two fur vest. Ogi (sp?) knew exactly what I wanted and what would look good on me. The vests are long and slimming - for a fur vest that's hard to do. Be prepared to spend some time in the store. First they have so many beautiful things and second all the sales women are so fun. You'll have a great time and look great too. When you enter the store the items in the window, where the sign is located, are regular price, however the same products are in the store..., what a joke and owner has no clue of business fraud alert !!!' I was so excited to treat my mom to a fabulous piece from Augustina, but our experience there was soured by the manager/owner. All her employees seem scared of her, so when we were first being helped it was frustrating because the young nice girl kept having to check in with the owner. Then the owner came over and was so pretentious and snobby, it made the experience uncomfortable. I wish we could have given a local small business our business, but Augustinas was a big disappointment. read more

Everytime I'm in Carmel (which is almost everyday) I love what I see in the window so I finally trotted in there today and was welcomed by a sweet young stylish lady. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and they are not pretentious like surrounding boutiques. They carry some everyday wear and a lot of beautiful evening and special occassion pieces. This place is on the more inexpensive side in regards to boutique shops in Carmel. Next time I need a cocktail dress or just something nice, I will definitely hit up Pamplemousse first.

I especially appreciate how the clothing items are grouped by color. Pleasant to the eye and so much easier to find something if you are looking for a specific color. Things are not too crowded. In the past I have found some great gift items here. No purchases during my most recent visit, but hope to return soon. We bought a pair of earrings and realized when we got to the hotel one had an abnormality. We brought them back in expecting nothing but she let us switch out the pair no problem.
