It's very seldom that I bother with second hand stores, the reason is that I tend to find only junk. That is not the case here. I am so in love with this store! I can't allow myself to go in unless I plan to buy something, because I always find at least five different things that I have to have! This is really making a statement as I'm terribly picky about my clothes and accessories. The store is not only clean, lacking that musty Goodwill smell, but it's also very organised. The size sections on the racks are clearly labeled and I don't think I've ever found anything in the wrong spot. Things always seem to be grouped together by colour. This really helps when looking for something specific. There are also several adorable new items such as bags, jewellery and other accessories. I read some previous negative reviews and I don't understand why these people had problems. Never have I gone in and not been promptly and kindly greeted. When I have questions they're answered thoroughly and immediately. I've never encountered a problem in calling to set up an appointment. They are very clear about what they will and will not take, all you have to do is ask. It's a wonderful store with a wonderful staff and I will continue to shop here as frequently as possible. read more

Cathie is awesome! Love this store and her service. My husband and I always stop in when we are in Monterey. Very organized store with quality items. Recently I needed a formal dress for a gala. I was showing my husband and said maybe I could get it taken in at home. Cathie said she'd do it for free and ship it to our home. As I approached my vehicle I watched as the owner of the store hit my vehicle with her car door and proceeded to blame me for parking in my location properly . Stating "if you don't want your car hit , don't park next to me ." Mind you I was already parked and watched her park next to my vehicle . She then began to yell she is a business owner and owns 5 parking spots (none of which I was parked in ) and proceeded to call me a pussy as she ran back into her shop never once apologizing for her hitting my car or the way she spoke to me . More like NOTHING NICE CONSIGNMENT One of the worst experiences EVER. Got an estimate of $200 to alter 4 pairs of scrubs. After my boss and I thought the price was too steep we decided to go elsewhere; so I asked her to not start with the tailoring, then she proceeds to tell me she would charge a cancellation fee and a pinning fee ? So, had her do a pair of scrubs in order to avoid those costs which were never printed anywhere on any piece of paper or sign (feel like she just made them up) Once my scrubs were ready she was charging me $58 ...cash only. When I told her how I felt about the prices this is her reply... "wah wah wah"!???? LOL little did she know our office was going to send her all our employees to get their scrubs altered AND the person who had referred me to her had a falling out with her too. Not to mention, while I was there I liked this cute Kate spade purse until I looked at the tag- $300! Then I saw a coach keychain...$80 ! When at the coach outlet they're BRAND NEW-on sale for that price or 40-60$! As I entered the store it was dark and almost wondered if it was opened for business. No one greeted me so I thought someone was in a back room. I began to look through the racks to make known I was in the store browsing. First of all, the clothes are described as high end?...well, I would say very few pieces besides the furs were "high end". The clothes didn't justify the pricing. Some Banana Republic sweaters priced at $49...hmmm...I could go get them brand new at the store. There were a couple things that were interesting but not tempting enough for me to give my hard earned coin. Don't try to barter there bc if you don't accept their price you walk out with cold rudeness from an older grey haired woman. Was told that checks would be sent to me upon items being sold but now the story changes saying I had to have requested it. This is NOT clearly stated in the contract. What an unfriendly person who owns/runs this shop. I had a very poor experience. She was cold & put me off a few times. I brought a variety of clothes to consign. Casual tops, jeans, work out tops & bottoms & a few long dresses. All she would take the time to see were the dresses & tops. They were all spring/summer tops. Her bull crap line was all my clothes were too summery but yet a few she kept were sleeveless and left lightweight longer sleeved ones. Very confusing. I wanted to make appointment to bring in more fun spring evening tops/pants. Never let me finish my sentence. Told me to go fill out my contract. Didn't review it...no more conversation. I've always been complimented on my clothes & taste in style. She acted like they were all crap. Threw my unwanted clothes over a chair by the front door & all but asked me to leave. I will never do business with this absolutely disgusting, rude, cranky, condescending woman. Oh and by the way...she is so overpriced it's ridiculous. I'd like to use worse language to describe her but want to get my message out there. She is rude & always unfriendly to me. I'm done with her & will take my shopping elsewhere. I had several items to try on and she didn't even set up a dressing room for me. I was looking for specific items and she just told me what rack to look at. If there was a 0, option this would definitely get 0. Don't walk RUN! She's nice taking your stuff , but shes extremely rude and snobby. It's just a store, it's not like she's François-Henri Pinault( owner of Gucci) she needs to learn how to complete hang up & not talk badly about people that co sign with her. Multiple times I called and always rude, and one to many times I heard talking badly about me. Telling me I didn't know how to read a contract , excuse me I am not illiterate. Her contract says at anytime we can withdraw items. Doesn't go anything further in explaining but anytime you can request your items. Which I did when I called and she said she had no time because with a customer I told her I would go to the store and formally retrieve and she again very hostile and rude. I needed my stuff and I needed things to be done a diplomatic way. I called for a police escort to retrieve my items because at that point it's criminal charges for property theft I was going to file a civil court law suit if she didn't return my stuff. Even with the police involved she was very nasty , rude and spoke to me very unprofessional. Soo if you decide to sell your items to Cathie Young and she's making it difficult to get your stuff back or is rude I suggest you get a police escort to retrieve your items and you'll get them same day unless she changes her contract and goes more in depth explaining "at any time able to request items" read more

I love going to consignment stores, and this is as good as it gets! The mere fact that nearly all the clothing and shoes are of the higher end is a definite plus. I saw Michael Kors, and Manolo Blahnik shoes for heaven's sake. I've NEVER seen such high end in a consignment store. I feel their prices are very fair, and there is always a sale going on. The $5 rack in the back caught me eye, and my mom purchased a gorgeous jacket from Chico's and a hoodie from Hollister. She also got a sweater from Chaps. Three items for $20.43.....what a deal. There IS a rack in the back that is plus size, but from what I saw, the items were just ok, which is a shame, because I'm a plus size gal. Maybe I need to consign some of my stuff there. Hmmmm..... Overall I was extremely pleased, and will definitely be back. The reason I didn't rate this with 5 stars was due to customer service. The two women working there were just talking to one another, and basically ignoring us while doing our transaction. However, for such a great deal on what we purchased I can put up with some rudeness. read more

I have shopped here a few times in the past. Once I found a pair of pants for $10.00. Overall, this is an average second hand store with a lot of crap you have to sift through. The boast here is the clothes are a "step-up" from the average second hand store. But it's not true. . Further, when I had something to sell, I called the store twice, left a message and asked for a return call to schedule an appointment. I never received a return call. This is not the way to run a business. You always return clients phone calls. So, to the lady who walked in with items and was "scolded" for not making an appointment I can say it wouldn't have mattered. Apparently the owner feels she has enough and doesn't need to be courteous to customers. A bit of snobbery here. Recap. Just average clothing with a lot of junk to sift through. Poorly run business when phone calls are not returned. In a well run business you ALWAYS return clients phone calls. They are your bread and butter. The choices abound in many sized, even have a few workout type items. They have a nice selection of designer brands as well as everyday styles. I love this place!! Even if you aren't looking for something specific, you'll find something you have to have. It's easy to walk around, the racks are simple and flow nicely, and the dressing rooms are spacious and room to move about. No pressure sales from the staff, they let you browse quietly and are helpful when you need it. I love to spend an afternoon taking my time looking through what might be a great gift or what I can add to my personal wardrobe. A great selection of accessories, and when that perfect "thing" catches my eye, I take it to the counter. But, I'm also a gal who loves a great deal and you can really find quality at a fantastic price. I don't shop at regular retail shops very much and prefer to find a personal piece that fits my lifestyle, and this little boutique has it all. If you don't find it that day, wait a couple of weeks and try again. The owner knows what we gals like and are looking for.
