The bridge in Monterey has two locations along lighthouse and I've got to tell you these places are amazing! I stopped in yesterday while in Monterey and felt guilty when I left with two huge bags for $30! They have a tag system where some things are 20% off all the way down to $1.50 and I managed to score quite a few few things at the dollar 50 price including some new tags Eileen Fisher pieces! This is a great cause as well as a cute store with really nice people. The Larger store which is farther down towards Pacific Grove has lots of housewares as well. The smaller store which is just up the block from the Goodwill is more boutique awesome place to go Do Not not miss this on your Thrift trip to Monterey. read more

Great spot! They have tons of stuff so be prepared to have time to wander and see it all. I really appreciate the pricing and discounts. I purchased a great boho marked for $12 and because of the color tag I got it for $1. I also pick up a skirt for $.75 that I'll repurpose because the fabric pattern was really cool. I'll definitely make a point to return when I'm in town. Also they have a sister store nearby and I checked than one out as well. Didn't get anything but it's always a fun treasure hunt. read more

In the store in a really good location. However I have noticed that prices have gone up considerably and noticed that they put some of the stuff the better items only on the internet. Also finding a folding black ice chest that Walmart also sells at 22 and you guys are asking $21 and you guys got to donated and you're asking practically full retail price. I mean come on I know you have to make money guys but some of the stuff needs to be reevaluated for price. If it was $10 or $12 I'd be more inclined to buy it but it had a weird funky odor to it. And sometimes you get so much stuff the employees are just shoving it wherever they can find space and not in the physical area where some things are actually supposed to go. Went and bought a Keurig coffee machine for $25 and got home tested it and the water tank leaked when I filled it you guys didn't test that part right back you guys gave me store credit and I have the receipt and then two days later you put it back on the shelf at the same price yeah I should just pulled it off the shelf all together what gives and sometimes the amount of stuff you have on the floor it makes it really hard when a person comes in with crutches trying to walk through some of the aisles it's can be a fire hazard. read more

This store is alot smaller than the one in PG. Pretty good selection of nick nacks. Lots of kitchen items. Which are reasonably priced. Decent amount of furniture. Small selection of clothing and shoes. Their leggings are about 7.00 a pair a little pricy. Very limited parking in front of the store but you can park at Happy dragon and walk over to the store which is only a couple of hundred feet away. They do have color tag sales everyday. I was able to get a lot of things for the kids!The location was decent. And it wasn't hard to find. The parking in front of the store was kind of limited because there are other shops nearby. I enjoy thrifting. I was in the area and I thought I'd check out this shop. The store is packed with a lot of things, but it's almost too packed to move about easily. The bed linens were well organized and other like items were sorted together in collections such as books, kitchenware, and so on. The clothing racks are double-stacked making it hard for short people like me to reach the taller racks. The store is dimly lit and it's especially difficult to sort through the clothes and see the labels and sizes. I wanted to try on a few hats and asked if there was a mirror. The staff member said that the only mirrors they had were in the dressing room. Both of the dressing rooms were taken. It would be helpful to keep the hats near a mirror and add a permanent mirror outside the dressing rooms to be able to try on hats and jackets without requiring customers to wait for a dressing room. I'm a big fan of thrift shops, especially those that help to support the community. I don't live in the area, so I probably won't come back for quite some time, if ever, but I did want to give a few suggestions for improvement to help support the cause. read more

I was looking at items online and called to ask questions. Based off the answers, I made an online purchase. I emailed a few times to get clarification on their return policy since one item was clothing and with COVID we couldn't come in to try on. I never got a response. I came to pick up curbside. I asked my question then and was told that I needed to call and talk with the manager. Upon getting home, I found that the clothing not only didn't fit, but was completely see-through, something not mentioned online. I called and left messages several time about a returning. I'm new to the area and love treasure hunting. The man in front of me in line was obviously destitute. The man behind the counter handed the man the clothes and told him "We can take care of this." He did it with pure kindness. No self gratification. I told him "Faith in humanity restored" Great thrift store. I found some great treasures and it looks like stock changes constantly. We've been to both locations. This place is no better than the other. It's a little harder to find. But, once you do...it's okay. A lot of junk. They have junky stuff. Not like oooo this is cool kind of stuff. Make sure you lock your car and cover what you do have in your car. The parking lot looks suspicious with the laundromat right there. I was visiting the Second Chance Monterey store today. I know the staff there and they're wonderful. I was just planning on going down there to say hello and see if I could maybe find one top that would fit me. Kathy, one of the rocking awesome staff, told me she'd just put out a bunch of new stuff. She even showed me where it was all located and I just had fun going through the racks. Kathy was very sweet to give me her thoughts on what I was trying on, too :) I found eight tops to try on and ALL eight tops fit. Now here's the best part, it only cost me $27 and some change with the discount and the special 10% off coupon that I brought in from the Pacific Grove store. The Monterey store has it going on. I frequent both shops, the Monterey shop a bit more sense it is near my house. When I'm looking for higher quality second hand items, second chance is always my place to go. Staff are excellent. They have high knowledge of BOTH store inventories, keep the stores organized and clean (well until me and my Motley Crew of three under three come in!) and are quick with the check out. They never once have complained about me and all these kids coming in. They welcome them and have gotten to know them, so we are not only greeted every time but now the kids are greeted by name. I recently bought my kitchen table from the Monterey store, and it is sturdy and cute. Just for an example of the quality of items they put out. The PG store is a bit bigger with a bit more diversity. Again the store is clean and well organized. The way staff uses the space in both stores is impressive. I highly recommend both stores. PS- they have brand new party stuff a lot too! Just look in the baskets next to the registers. And if your local, sign up for the phone number point system (that's free!) and get 5$ off after you spend so much. read more

We came here on a whim, and it was a nice little visit even though we didn't buy anything. The staff here were really nice to my wandering little critters. =) I was afraid they'd break something, but they were ok. Lots of clothes and some shoes (limited) in the back, kitchen and house-ware closer to the front of the store. A lot of knick knacks and some furniture throughout. They have a system of discount that you can see on a sign as you walk in (also posted on a Yelp pic). Lots and lots of books in the back and some CDs and DVDs too. The prices are reasonable although some of the items really aren't good enough to pass muster for me to bring home for any amount of $. So it's good if you're looking for something specific that you might not find at a yard sale for a true bargain, but you may also not find it here either, haha... But they do have lots of variety of items and you might just find what you're looking for and more. It's all for a good cause, so do support this store. =) read more

They opened some months ago and also have a store in PG. It supports a great program for people in recovery. So far I've gotten dishes, mirror, wind chime, a vintage concert t-shirt, candles...it's a great place. The people who work there are amazing! Second Chance is Really Amazing for 2 reasons, The Competition in this area has Numerous top 10 Thrift Stores, By Far Second Chance has had the biggest and Most Amazing Deals on Rare and unique items . I actually Haunt Goodwill most of the time. But Furniture wise, Artwork (not just frames) etc... WoW. . Items that woukd never make it past Corporate minded managers at the chain store are for sale often..and for $1 . Ive witnessed tourists and visitors practically go into a panic seeing the Deals and Steals at this store.., and The Employees are So cool and Helpful...
