This is the best consignment shop I've found in the Monterey area. There's only good quality, in style clothes at decent prices. Some shops in Carmel and PG have similar quality but charge too much. I go to Nice! pretty often because I always find what I'm looking for. Their hours are short however so plan your visit between 11-6 Mon - Fri and I think they're open a few hours on Sat. read more

It's kind of expensive considering Macy's is only 2 minutes drive away when it is having one of those super deal weekends. I'm not quite sure who does the pricing, but it isn't cheap on most items. Not sure where/how this place got it's name. A more appropriate name might be "Rude" or "Dismissive" or a host of other adjectives that are probably not appropriate for me to use on Yelp. I brought in two formal gowns and was quickly schooled by the lady at the desk (owner?) that she doesn't do formal gowns and also only sees people by appointment. With that I was cast out like a peasant with the rags I was peddling. Snooty and unwelcoming attitude...won't be back. PS-the merchandise didn't look so "Nice"...I should have been the one snubbing this place and will do so the future. read more

I thought I would give Nice Consignment a try when deciding to sell some clothing. If you like being helped by rude, ambivalent sales staff, then this place is for you. I went in to set an appointment to show clothing and the brunette sales clerk acted as if I was wasting her time. She was not even cordial to me. "No problem," I thought "She's just having a bad day." I was wrong. My next visit a week later (with the same sales staff) was just the same, unfriendly and unhelpful. What a waste of my time. My daughter and I love boutiques & consignment shops. We were not at all impressed with this shop... The prices were outrageous! I get it- you are selling name brand items- but they are used!!! They had a pair of Very Volatile boots that on average sell for $70 brand new- This boutique was selling them for $60!!! WHAT!! That's crazy! Great consignment shop. I always find the best deals here, love their sale rack. I found a pair of Eileen Fisher slacks for 50% off the consignment price. Owner is very sweet. Clothes are in great condition, shop is clean and organized. If you are bringing clothes in for consignment be sure to get the specifics; # of pieces allowed, condition of pieces, hangers/no hangers. Fabulous shopping excursion with my teenage daughter. We both found something we loved, got some great deals and left the shop with a bag full of must-haves. I had the same experience as Laurie B. who reviewed in April. I had a conflict with the brunette woman as well. The owner is a lot nicer, you'd think she'd get a clue how rude her employee is! Overall I have had okay interactions with the business, I've dropped off clothes a couple of times. Great location, nice display and rotation of clothes. read more

Love this store! I never seem to have enough time to see everything in the shop, but I almost always leave with some treasure. I have found everything from a new in box Hermes scarf to a new with tags dress on the $5 rack! Everything from Anthropologie to St John-just check in often as items seem to move fast! read more

Without question the WORST business ever. I consigned some great clothes here...several Coach bags, about 8 pairs of True Religion jeans, a bunch of cute tops from Anthropologie, etc. I called numerous times to check on the status of my clothes and the RUDE Australian owner said that their computer was down and she couldn't tell me if anything had sold. I went in and was told that I had $23.00 coming to me. I asked if everything had sold, she said yes. $23 for about 5 grand worth of stuff?????? I have called the better business bureau, filed a complaint and fully intend to let people in the Monterey area know, that these people are stealing money that is rightfully owed to their consignors. read more

This clothing consignment shop is the best in the area, by far. There are three rules I always have in mind for evaluating a used clothing store: The first and most important (and the hardest to implement, apparently) is that there is NO ODOR OF MILDEW when I enter the store. That telltale musty odor is a complete turn-off to me and I really don't go any further than the first whiff. The second rule is that clothing cannot be so packed and squished together on the racks that you can't conveniently look at, or take off, or replace an item on a rack. The third is that (unless it is a vintage store) the clothing be reasonably up-to-date or classic and timeless and in excellent condition. NICE perfectly illustrates all of three rules plus the owner (Renee) is a very pleasant person to do business with. I highly recommend. read more
