The Meat Eater Omelet
Michael G.

I live 1.5 hours away from Pittsburgh, so I don't get out this way often. But I tried this place for the first time today. And while it was my first time here, the staff treated me like I was a regular. Everyone was so friendly. I had the Meat Eater Omelet (sausage, bacon, ham, cheese) with home fries, toast, and ordered a single side pancake with chocolate chips & peanut butter chips. Added a few dashes of hot sauce to the omelet and potatoes, and it was great! The pancake was so good, I didn't even add any syrup. Highly recommend this place when you're in the area. Only con - it's cash-only here, but there is an ATM inside.

When I'm in the mood for breakfast for lunch during the week I walk to O'Leary's. It's a bit of a greasy spoon but the food is really filling. I enjoy watching them prepare the meal on the grill a few steps away from the booths. Reminder - it's cash only.

Was in town over the weekend and passed by Saturday while walking and thought smelled so good. Our buddy from the area suggested let's get breakfast Sunday before we left and this was his recommendation since we had Airbnb not far. This place is small but makes some business. I will stress don't expect to be in and out fast regardless if eating in or taking out. I will say this was a great breakfast. Love the choices they have and takes me back to the local greasy spoon that was around the corner from where I grew up. The ladies running the place are constantly on the go. Ordered ice tea and came on cardboard container which really made me feel old but was delicious.

Killer diner food! Our waitress was amazing. Perfect for a nice Sunday brunch. Loved the veggie burrito! And the bacon was so crispy and delicious. FYI they are cash only but they do have an atm.

This little mom and pop hole in the wall on Carson is just what you need to get your weekend started! The staff is so friendly and the people make this place a neighborhood charm!! We even got a cold beer on the house after our meal to start off St. Pattys day. The food was decent - nothing to write home about, but quick - cheap and left us with full bellies.

If you are looking for ambiance, forget it. What you do get is a lot of friendly people and home cooked , right in front of you, food. Very tasty, hot, and filling.

This is definitely an old school Pittsburgh Diner but good simple food at a good price by people who actually care= priceless. A home town breakfast favorite. Nothing flashy just good comfort food. A true OG!

Wife Daughter & I went here yesterday for late breakfast. O'Leary's is a true looking old style diner. The place is on the small side but does have a good amount of seating as long as it does not get too busy. We got a table right away in a great big booth big enough for 6 people. The table was cleaned spotless and the waitress came right over and got drink orders. Waitress brought our drink orders and took our orders. I had a #2 special 2 eggs over easy and bacon and home fries well done with white toast and to drink I had a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whip cream. The service was fantastic and waitress was very friendly. My food was delicious and eggs cooked perfectly. The prices are really good compared to other diners. If you are in the area I highly recommend O'Leary's. I will definitely be coming back again

Very nice breakfast location. Cute downtown area with many shops close by. Family owned and operated and very sweet vibe. Many local ppl seemed to be regulars. Our food was good and prepared when ordered. Pancake was very nice and so was the staff.

Basic scramble with sour cream n salsa- so good!

It was a typical retro-vintage stop inside, and I was forewarned by the veteran waitress they were open only for the next half-hour. I reassured her I was not planning to stay long. It must've been the end of a long shift for her because she was grumbling to the busboy about the other waitress who decided to leave early. This other woman, clearly the 'Kiss Mah Grits' type, alienated me by calling me Mr. Miyagi and cackling about it to the rest of the staff. I thought I might be expected to recite lines from "The Karate Kid". Instead I ordered the $11.25 Grilled Meatloaf Melt, which came with quite a slice covered in fried onions and melted Swiss cheese barely held together by the toasted rye bread. It was on the greasy side, and the fries were dried out (Photo 10). What would Mr. Miyagi say? One night recently when undecided of where to have dinner my wife said hey we've been wanting to try Nadine's so let's go. When we pulled up it lived up I was pleased to see they had their own parking lot. First impression of outside and inside was that it was definitely a dive bar, but that's not a bad thing. It's a tiny little place, long and narrow. It seemed like most of the patrons were local regulars. The menu was bigger than I expected and was surprised to see that they even offer breakfast service. We sat at the bar and we were quickly greeted. I decided to try the soup of the day which was lasagna soup. It wasn't bad, but not amazing. It could have had a little more seasoning. I then ordered a Reuben and my wife had a cheesesteak. The food was cooked right in front of us on a tiny little griddle behind the bar. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. It was all pretty solid. My wife seemed to enjoy her sandwich as did I. I should have asked for more Russian dressing for my Reuben but it was good.

I had mentioned a nearby diner to a fan I met at the game the night before and he scoffed at me and told me all about DeLuca's. DeLuca's is exactly what I'm looking for in a diner! Old school place, seating was comfortable, and our waitress made us feel right at home! I went with the Steel City and that included everything! Pancakes (which our lovely waitress added complimentary bananas to), hot sausage, bacon, home fries, eggs, and Italian bread toast. Everything was cooked perfectly! From the second we walked in, the atmosphere was so charming and nostalgic, right down to the unbelievably reasonable prices. It's the kind of spot that instantly makes you feel comfortable and keeps you entertained the entire time you're there. We sat at the bar and were greeted right away with coffee and water while we looked over the menu. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the food being prepared right in front of us - the entire vibe of the room felt lively, authentic, and honestly hilarious at times. Between the conversations, the energy behind the counter, and the overall ambiance, it genuinely felt like dinner and a comedy show wrapped into one. We ordered the vegetable omelet and the pancake special, and both came out piping hot and absolutely delicious.
