Overview: Typical Irish dive bar. Nothing special but considering the limited options in Batavia it was pretty good. Drinks: My girlfriend tried the snake bite (Guinness & Woodchuck) and a bass beer. I got the perfect pour Guinness and an Irish coffee. The drinks were good and around 6 dollars. Food: The sandwiches and burgers were pretty good. I got the o'lacy burger as the additional toppings sounded good, however I found having two patties to be quite excessive and difficult to eat. The "famous" chips were just okay. Don't get the red velvet cake... It was not very good. Decor: Typical Irish pub blanketed in eclectic knickknacks. There is a covered outdoor patio which was very nice. Small pub with great Irish flare. Fun appetizer... chicken ramakis (chicken pieces wrapped in bacon, bbq flavor, served with homemade chips). Speaking of homemade potato chips... delish. My personal favorite, the last few times there, they offered a Trinity Reuben (home cooked corned beef, pastrami, and turkey)... amazingly delicious! It should be a regular on the menu. I'll always have a soft spot for O'Lacy's. It's where my brother and I had our first legal drink together. It's where I inevitably run into everyone from high school every Christmas. It's my go-to hometown bar. O'Lacy's is as Irish themed as they come; from the Gaelic signs plastered on every square inch of wall space to the countdown clock to St. Patty's Day (Dublin time). The staff are friendly and the drinks are super cheap. It gets crowded around the holidays, but an enclosed patio with heat lamps helps to expand the usable space. It's a pretty sure bet that, whenever I'm in Batavia, I'll be making the pilgrimage to O'Lacy's at some point. read more

Why this place isn't near the top of the list on Yelp is beyond me.... I stopped in here to eat while on my way to a meeting and had the blue cheese burger with potato skins. The burger was cooked to perfection and the potato skins seasoned to perfection. I suspect you would have a hard time finding a bad thing on the menu. The is clean top to bottom. The wooden interior dominates the bar in a nice way only to be accentuated by the plethera of memorbilia mounted everywhere. While your in a pleasant conversation with the friendly locals, you can faintly hear the Irish music playing in the background. It's an atmosphere that makes you want to come back, so after my meeting, I did and had the opportunity to sample the nice variety of ice-cold local beers on tap. In addition to the local beer, they also a variety of the national brands. And yes, they have Guinness on tap. It wouldn't be an Irish bar without it. I hear there's also a casino in town, but truth be told, I'll take this over the casino any day of the week. I will be back next time I'm in the area read more

Nice comfy Irish styled pub. The food is delicious. Especially when They do their cook out buffets in the summer. This is a very small place so if you're not one for being squished in this might not be your place. I'm not a drinker or one for the bar scene. Classic Irish pub. Ambiance is great, food is traditional Irish home style and very good. The only thing better than the food is the prices; very cheap. I recommend the O'lacy burger, Shepard's Pie, lamb stew, and chips. Guinness pour is one of the best on this side of the Atlantic. read more

This was our second trip to O'lacy's. It is an Irish bar, with outdoor seating in the summer. They had around 10 beers on tap, with an obvious focus on Irish styles. The food selection is pub fare, again with an Irish spin. I got a grilled cheese to split with daughter, and it was well cooked and crispy. I got a side of mashed potatoes. They were smashed with the skins. I found them to be a bit bland, and needed some extra butter to give them a bit more flavor. We ordered the chips and dip as an appetizer, as they were recommended by or server. The chips are made in house, and the "dip" was more of a honey mustard sauce. My husband ordered the Sheppard pie. He liked it, but also noted it was a bit bland. All of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful! read more

Took my wife here the other night and order Irish Beef Stew and bacon wrapped chicken It was Delish!!! If it in the area it's a must try. My only negative was I arrived at 8:15 for the all u can eat buffet and the woman said it closes at 8:30??? But bar clock is 15 min fast on purpose for last call??? Idk? Wtf? Talk about a hidden gem! A cool little Irish pub on a quiet street off of the beaten path. Irish music playing, a great, friendly bartender, and unbelievable food. They have this Irish stew (depending on the day it is either lamb, beef or Guinness), that is absolutely delicious. It comes with two slices of freshly baked rye bread, Can you guess the price? Would you believe $7.49? Really good selection of draft beer, and the best homemade potato chips I have ever had. (Those are $3.50 for a huge basket). I might make the 5 hour drive for another bowl of that stew. read more

It's a local irish bar..... The locals love it, because it's in a small town. It has some style that is all it's own, and is fun. the vibe there is always upbeat, the crowd is fun, and they have a few menu items that are uniquely their own. Always a good time, relaxed, always a good crowd, commonly mixed ages. They often have music groups, but to see an irish folk band there is not uncommon. Awesome authentic Irish Pub not like the many sports bars that claim to be Irish Pubs. Very good food and friendly staff. Well there's a good reason why they're ranked as #1 Guiness Pint pour in the state, northeast region, and #3 in the country. They even do a little design on the head of your beer, usually a shamrock. O'Lacy's was recommended by a few folks when we were in town visiting the local college. The chicken and biscuits was amazing. My grandmother would blush. The Guinness Stew was fantastic, too. The shepard's pie had no gravy. It was a heap of potato and barely any meat. The famine is long over guys - where's the beef? We returned the next night for the fish and chips on a Friday in Lent. It was okay and might have been beaten by the local Church fundraiser. In any event, we will return. The atmosphere was authentic and homey. read more
