What a disappointment. This O'Charley's restaurant used to be a great place to get great food at fair prices in a great atmosphere. Apparently no longer the case now. This restaurant used to have plenty of business and it was not uncommon to wait a few minutes for a table. It's nearly a ghost town now. The greeter summarily took us to a booth in the bar section, where music was blasting overhead and the sports TVs were on everywhere. The dining section had several people seated there, with the remainder of that area empty. I didn't even bother to ask why we were put in the bar. Everything on the menu was up more than $6 and meals with meat were captioned as "protein." What a ridiculous fad and I'm surprised that O'Charley's would simply follow the crowd. We ate fish and chips. $32. Nothing to write home about and we quickly ate and left, never to return. Dining out is supposed to be enjoyable. There are too many other choices in the area offering great food at great prices with excellent atmosphere. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

Nice greeting as we arrived! :) Soft country music which was nice too. Our server was EXCELLENT... checking on us, refilling water, asking how the meals were and, clearing finished plates right away! (That's my pet peeve when the dishes sit in front of you after you've finished!) I have to say the food was really really good! I had the Pecan Chicken Salad with balsamic vinaigrette and it was DELICIOUS! The chicken was tender and hot and cooked perfectly... nice green salad, with Craisins, mandarin oranges and blue cheese. A good value for a GREAT salad! My mom had the Chicken Sandwich with fries and she added a side of Cole slaw. The sandwich looked scrumptious... a yummy bun with a beautiful chicken breast. Was served spoiled food ( chicken ceaser ) on 1st person. 2nd person. French fries hard couldn't eat, raw steak could even chew / chicken strips were smaller than Wendy's down the road from them. Bake potato days old from sitting in steamer. Steak not well and not like med. 2 waiters and a manager running this place. It would have been better to close for staff shortages and clean out your expired food. read more

Avoid at all costs. Stopped in hungry after a Lula Lake hike. Server didn't know the difference between whiskey and beer (not joking) and had to go ask the bartender, who visited our table only to tell us that they were out of everything we wanted. Ordered a patty melt and it was God-awful. Served not on the traditional rye bread but on pallid Texas 'toast', which touched the grill for what must have been all of 3 seconds; just long enough for the built-up charred grease left over on the grill to paint the idea of grill marks on the bread without actually toasting it up at all. The patty inside was a ridiculous shade of elephant-gray and tasted like it was seasoned only with warm vegetable oil after removal from the microwave on high for 15 minutes. The onions were soft and pale, with no hints of that annoying caramelization or seasoning. The whole thing was disgusting. Do yourself a favor and go to McDonald's instead. At least they have a standard to meet. read more

Seemed like none of the staff cared about the product they put out or the quality of their food. Ordered a Patti melt - it came without the caramelized onions that were described in the menu. When I asked the server she seemed surprised that I wanted onions. And brought me back soggy gross onions - maybe a 1/2 a teaspoon of them. My husband ordered green beans as his side and they put them in the side dish water and all. If I were the manager, I would have been embarrassed at the food that went out of the kitchen. Pretty Average Bar Food Some people have made some really rough reviews for this place but it's really a 3 star kind of place for what it is. The western burger was a bit lackluster. It came out cold and didn't have much flavor. A little seasoning would be good. I liked the normal fries, they put some sort of salt and pepper sprinkle on them which was tasty. Service from our waitress/bartender was Ok, not super personable or anything. Not much interaction considering we were about the only people in this place. The girl cleaning tables was super personable and the guy who seated us seemed friendly. Blackberry cobbler on Wednesday is $1.99 for a happy add on. It was good. This place has potential, but seems to need a nudge towards some improvement to reach that potential. read more

Ordered to go. Order rang up for $45 instead of $25. Got that fixed and card reader didn't work and my card was declined twice--bank said it was their reader error. Chicken tenders were tough, almost jerky so I ended up cutting it up and making chicken salad so we could eat it. Mac and cheese was bland, like from a box. Rolls were hard. Really no reason to recommend or return. And it explains why most are now closed. FYI, if you want gravy for your mashed potatoes it'll cost you $1.50 read more

The hostess was not too friendly. When we got seated, our server let us know that two fryers were down, which knocks out half their menu. I felt rushed in ordering my food and drink. When we got our food, I had the 6 Oz sirloin medium rare, and my husband had the Louisiana steak medium, neither one of them were cooked evenly. There was also a hair in my food. Our group was there for lunch on Saturday 6/25 about 11:30 am. The reason I mentioned the time is because the restaurant was virtually empty maybe 2 or 4 tables with customers. When asked the number in our party we replied 8 maybe 10 I've never seen such eye rolling from the hostess, you would have thought we said 100! We like O'Charley's Restaurant in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. We can count on a great meal with good service. One reason we like O'Carley's are the greeters. One young lady, Mariah, always greets us with a warm smile an is genuinely glad to see us. Today Jarrod P. was our waiter. He was very attentive and prompt. It is unusual for most restaurants to cook a steak perfectly but at O'Charley's in Fort Oglethorpe, GA they always do a great job. I ordered a steak well done. She asked for the meal to be compted and the manager said she would. Most of the time it is great. You order , they deliver, mission accomplished. However, when you order thru their website, you are apparently going thru Grubhub without your knowledge. When I called the store 15 minutes after expected delivery time, they informed me that the order is/has been ready for some time and they had no idea when/if it would be picked up for delivery. That meant the steaks had been ready for at least half an hour, with no expectation of delivery. On this day I decided to pick up myself. When I called the manager was unavailable but relayed a message that I could come by any day and they would replace the side item. Who does that? I said so you won't replace the meal since I didn't receive what was ordered and the young lady said manager said can replace side. I absolutely love O'Charleys's food!! From the loaded potato soup and the salad to the chicken tenders with the best honey mustard around and the prime rib and prime rib sandwich specials!! Don't get me started on the French silk pie, yummy!! The rolls, oh my!!! Seems like they will do anything to get people in the door from free pie Wednesday to kids eat free! The only thing they don't seem to be able to do is hire enough servers and/or train them properly!! When we go we know we are just asking for punishment. I do like that they leave the pitchers of tea and water out around their service area so you can get it yourself and that the soda fountain is pretty convenient bc you won't get drink refills. I'm pretty sure that isn't the purpose for this though. If it weren't for the fact that we have had a problem the 50+ times we have gone in the past years that this location has been open, I would have given it at least 4 stars. I live not too far from this O'Charley's and have eaten there with friends and alone from time to time. The reviews posted are mixed and I can understand the mix of impressions since in the past I have felt the same way, which can be summed up as inconsistent. However, this O'Charleys seems to have made a dynamic effort to get better each month. The last several times I have eaten there seems different in both food and service. Usually I stop in for a late lunch, rarely in the evenings. I have found the service greatly improved. The hot rolls have been served promptly along with drinks. The salads are crisp and fresh. The soups are hot but not scalding. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Currently, Wednesday is "free pie" day, a nice bonus. I have tried most of their entrees and sides. Most are medium priced and served attractively. I commend this O'Charley's for its effort to serve well and to treat its patrons with courtesy and respect. I would classify this restaurant as one of the best in the Fort Oglethorpe area at this time...I am posting this in June, 2015 and will update if anything changes. My favorite reason for going to O'Charley's is their Overloaded Potato Soup. This visit I got it as one of my sides with my chicken tenders meal. Having recently moved to the area, I decided to get the chicken tenders through curbside to go and I placed my order online. My order was supposed to be done at 7:25 and I was told by the runner that she had six other orders to bag before mine and it would be a few minutes. It was 25 minutes at curbside to go waiting for my order that was done 25 minutes ago. I imagine my food will be cold. I will never come to this location again and I feel like if you're going to have curbside to go, the food should be warm when it comes to the car and it should be here reasonably on time! read more
