NYP Slice House in Las Cruces is one of our go-to spots for great pizza. The pizza is consistently delicious, fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you are craving a good slice. They also have a great selection of ice cold local beer, which makes it even better. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Even when they are busy on the weekends, the staff does a great job keeping things moving. During the weekdays, it is much more relaxed and not too crowded, which makes it a great spot to sit and enjoy your meal. The booths could definitely use some updating, but the quality of the pizza and the excellent service more than make up for it. If you are in Las Cruces and want solid pizza with a laid-back vibe, NYP Slice House is worth a visit. My only suggestion is instead of charging for ranch dressing, build that into the cost of your pizzas and customers will never know the difference and they'll be grateful thinking the condiments are free! read more

At 10:30am, before they even opened, I prescheduled my order for 12pm. 20 minutes before my pickup time, I got a text saying my order has been rescheduled for 12:40. I go at 12:30 and try explaining to the lady at the counter, I don't know her name but she had long braids and glasses as was rude in the micro aggressive ways while still pretending to be polite. I guarantee that every rude behavior I list here, she will have some dumb excuse for. She interrupted me while I was asking about why my order was delayed and said "I just need a name." Didn't even acknowledge what I was saying. I asked again why it was delayed, and she wouldn't even look at me while she talked about some nonsense about how they add 19 minutes to the time. That's what I gathered from what she was mumbling, and that doesn't make a lot of sense to you or me. I restated that I scheduled my order and asked her to explain why it was 40 minutes delayed, and she said that they got 6 tickets at the same time so they had to add time to every ticket. This also doesn't make sense- because I ordered before they even opened. Unless 6 tickets were placed at 10:30am, then I think she's full of crap. Never offered even a lame excuse for an apology; not once, not for anything. I don't even care about the longer wait time as much as the rude behavior. I want to support small local businesses and am willing to restructure my errands to accommodate their needs- but at least be kind? I've worked in the service industry for the better part of 10 years. I've worked with people like her and the sour attitude that working with customers can foster. I hope she has a better rest of her day and can find joy in her work, and positively impact the rest of NYPs customer base instead of this "f the customer" attitude that just seeped out of her. Came in twice for a slice and the service wasn't great but the pizza was awesome. Nice thin and crispy slice like you'd get in manhattan. Bragged to a friend that he had to try it so we came in for a whole pie. This time service was great but the pizza was a DISASTER. My out of town friends really like this place for some reason (I didn't have the best experience the last time I was here) so we stopped by for a calzone and a pizza. It was very busy for a Monday night and the wait for the food was about 30 minutes. The calzone was pretty good. We got the original and it was packed with cheese but didn't have as many toppings/fillings as we were hoping for. We also had a medium Americano pizza and it was loaded with toppings, but most of them were placed in the center of the pizza and promptly fell off when picking up a slice. The pizza was somewhat undercooked because a lot of the toppings were still raw. Other than that it was a good pizza. The prices are pretty much the same as the last time I was here ($16 for the calzone and $22 for the medium pizza) but the food was better so I'm open to coming back again. read more

Pizza was really good but the CO2 machine was broken so no soda. We don't drink so we had ice water. It's really loud but that's to be expected. The place could be cleaner, had a dirty rag smell. The men were using the women's restroom and every time the door opened you could see towels all over the floor. One man came out and grabbed some napkins at the end of the bar to wipe his hands and told the gentleman sitting at the end of the bar that there were no towels in the bathroom. I have no idea where to start. This place used to be really good when it was on Lohman, but the quality of the pizza is just awful. It was literally nothing but cheese and toppings. Zero sauce, and charred. I understand "brick oven" pizza and how it is supposed to turn out, but the food is just awful. Service wasn't much better. It took us about 30 min to get our pizza. Husband ordered a beer and I ordered a tea. Took us about 5 minutes to get our one drinks as the server never came back, up until we had been 1/2 way through the pizza with no drink. It wasn't busy enough for him to have brought the entire ten minutes for the refill. Music quietly plays while the games are showed throughout the area. Now let's talk about the meal. The pizza was the Old Reliable. It had potential but it was warm. You could tell the pizza had been out for a while as the pizza crust puffs were soggy. We have been Friday night regulars since businesses opened back up after Covid but the customer service recently was terrible, the atmosphere has changed. First of all we walked in about 7:30pm and we were directed to seat ourselves (which is normal) and we took our seats and a newer waitress comes to our table and asks if we were informed that pizza orders are 1 -1 1/2 hours BEHIND and if we still wanted to stay. uhhh yea, we are ready to order. I'm not exactly sure what Happ to customer service of the in house customer? and why didn't the first initial waiter tell us about the wait? Then we get our food in 33 minutes.... What's wrong here? the music is BLARING LOUD and it's heavy metal as if we are in a concert! it's never been this loud. Waitress is constantly rolling her eyes and on her phone. and the floor under our table is filth, it looks and feels like it hasn't been swept in months. bring back the old atmosphere and the old staff. Get the Eddie Muenster pizza. You won't regret it. That has to be one of the best pizzas within a 300 mile range. The New Yorker was also an awesome pizza. The ricotta and mozzarella cheese they use has so much more flavor than most. This is my go to pizza joint now. Marla, our waitress, was excellent and had a great attitude. We were in from out of town and a friend recommended this place. So glad we did!!! First of all this place gives you all the feels of an old pizza parlor. Crazy high leather booths and the smell is amazing as soon as you open the door. They have about 30 beers on tap and they rotate every month. Lots of locals and neighboring states brews. Something for everyone. The menu was extensive with tons of great choices. Sizes are huge and great value for the price. The crust is the shining star. It's tender but crispy, was moderately thin but held up well under toppings. Service was stellar and our waitress was on top of it all. I have no idea how this place has 3 1/2 stars because I'm a picky reviewer and I couldn't find a SINGLE thing wrong. In fact, everything well exceeded my expectations. But sad because of the service of some of your employees that welcome customers actually DONT WELCOME CUSTOMERS. It's happened to us four times now That we go in to have dinner and don't get a warm welcome because we walk an hour or two hours before close time. They tell us right away that the back part is closed and say they are almost closing. To the owner of NYP you would definitely have more customers if you didn't have these employees with this kind of attitude. Chill and good pizza. Only bummer is, they don't serve their specialty pizzas per slice. Their large and extra large pizzas aren't very much, we ordered a large pizza between me and Emilio. I have no car so I ordered door dash. I called the store to ask how to order extra marinara, the lady said just put it in special instructions. I did so and guess what... now I have a dry calzone. My receipt even says extra marinara but this place didn't send it. And when I called to tell them they basically said oh too bad there is nothing we can do. UMM...YUMMMMM!!!! Recently we began occasionally ordering from NYP. The Artichoke Joe is OUTSTANDING! I CRAVE it! I don't generally crave anything from any of the restaurants here in town. But this pizza, did I say "YUMMMM!!!!"?! I am usually one that likes to dip my pizza in ranch (where did that all begin?!). Unfortunately, when ordering for delivery, there is no where to add a dressing option for this. It would be great if they added it! Delivery is a bummer via Doordash and Slice. Not only are you now paying a company almost $7 to deliver, add in the tip and now you're paying close to $13 for a pizza to be delivered.
