Haven't been to this sub shop since the previous owners ran it; i ordered a Italian sausage, sub with onion, green bell pepper and provolone cheese, marinara sauce. Unfortunately, the sausage used has very little flavor, the marinara sauce was out of the can, not enough was used in the sandwich, a bit dry and the amount of onions and bell peppers were just a little amount, diced. I asked for extra marinara sauce and they gave it to me; I added salt and pepper to try to improve its taste The canned marinara sauce needs to be doctored up (seasoned), if you're not going to make it from scratch, the sausage used needs to be exchange for a better quality and tastier version. It would be nice to have rings of onion and green pepper that are roasted to have a enjoyable more authentic style of a Italian sausage sandwich. The POS system has a pre-selected tip enabled, in the rush to sign and check out, the default tip was charged, by my own lack of familiarity with my checkout process. I'm wondering how many other people have inadvertently gotten charged a "tip", when we may not have wanted to, but just let it slide? While, I haven't had any of the cold cut sandwiches; this Italian sausages sub, definitely needs improvement. We have been ordering from here on a weekly basis for months, and usually get double meat. Only once have they missed that. Otherwise the meats, veggies and rolls are fresh. Even without extra meat you get just as much meat as veggies. They will put your oil and vinegar on the side if asked. The service is quick and the store app is easy to use. read more

After not being able to place an order online like I always have I tried calling the store to place my order to which I'm told they don't support phone orders. I advised I was not able to place the order online for the cheap Monday deal and I was told it shuts off Monday around 5:30 but to go ahead and try it again if I want to. This can be a bit pricey, but who can put a price tag on deliciousness! Fresh made bread daily. Excellent choice of meat brands (boar head). This is a small little shop and a lot of folks order and go. They have a small seating area, just remember this is a spot that's always busy. This place has gone way down hill since the former owners retired and sold. New owner believes two things: cut costs and increase price. They use less ingredients for both meat and vegetables. This makes sandwiches small and unfulfilling. That fact that the prices have going up by almost 20% further makes getting food here not worth it. Order times have also gone way up. Before, even when busy, I'd be out 5-8 minutes. Now 30+ minutes when it's not busy. Everything still tastes good and fresh, for what that's worth. For me, it's not worth it. This appears to be your typical mom-n-pop deli stop with a team that cares about what they do and tries hard to do it right. Sandwiches are all made-to-order on the spot and come in a variety of sizes (both hot and cold). They also have a nice selection of side dishes beyond just your typical bag of chips (although that is what i chose). Your sub also comes with a pickle spear and of course you can make a "meal deal" by adding a side and drink to any sandwich you order. The menu is very difficult to navigate. No suggestions made to help anything of that nature. The bread was hard The meats were skimpy . If you decide to order anything with avocado expect a sparce thin spread. The wait was Long food was lack luster the price was exuberant the staff was there. I paid 29 $ for a small turkey/ avocado. My guest had a large turkey with cheese which was the same size as my small. I didn't even have cheese on the small turkey avocado. We were hankering for a great sub. I looked on Yelp and the Corner Deli came up so we decided to give it a try. I find that all the subs taste the same at the chain sandwich shops and didn't want another boring sandwich. The Corner Deli didn't disappoint. Wow, the subs are huge and full of meat. We both ordered the Philly Cheese Steak. The steak was seasoned to perfection and the homemade bread was heaven. This is definitely top of the list when we are in Las Cruces. Thank you. read more

Rarely does amazing food and amazing customer service collide. It has happened here. The staff, of which the owner was one of them, were incredibly helpful, patient, and accommodating to the max! The owner recommended what I'd call a "New Mexico Style Rueben". It was incredible!! No skimping on ingredients here! I can't recommend this place enough! This is the chicken Philly at Corner Deli. $8 and about 1.5 ounces of shaved over cooked chicken. We ordered 3 sandwiches total and all were subpar and/or missing ingredients which we had paid extra for. When we called to complain we were just met with arguments. They were absolutely not interested in making this right for us. It is a shame because I am a life long local and always loved this place. Not only is the food awful now but the owner/management is absolutely terrible. As someone who has managed restaurants for almost 20 years in the area I find this unacceptable.Expect to see this location go down soon. I'll take my chances with Subway in the future. What a neat little restaurant tucked into a strip mall. I've been coming to Corner Deli since I was a freshman in high school. There's no better place to get a fresh, great tasting sub sandwich. I love this guy and all the chill high school kids he always has working for him. I have been going there for about 30 years now and it is consistent af. I usually order something cold with ham, pastrami, hard salami, and pepperoni or some kind of combo of any of those meats (I don't remember the numbers). There's a ham/turkey, bacon, and avocado that's good as well. In the late 90's I went through a phase of eating all the hot "from the grill" sandwiches and got really addicted to them. The bread. The bread is amazing and has always been the same exact bread. I heard somewhere that it gets shipped in from some distant location because it's special, and I believe that it is. Yes it's substantial and yes it overpowers the sandwich, but that's what makes it a Corner Deli sandwich and I'm not mad about it. If you order a jumbo size it comes packed with more than enough meat and fixings and is enough for two meals, and is under $10 which is unheard of for a huge sandwich packed with Boars Head meats. We stopped in to the Corner Deli today for lunch. The sandwiches were good, maybe could have had either more meat or less bread. The bread was good, but very thick. I did like having the options of adding toppings or dressings. The potato salad and the macaroni salad were okay. Very fast service. A REAL NICE LITTLE SANDWICH SHOP The Corner Deli is one of the better delis or sandwich shops around Las Cruces. It is bright and clean inside and there are many comfortable booths....all in good repair. The ambiance is nothing special but it is fine for casual dining. You order at the counter from the big board overhead and they bring the food out to your table. I have always had my meals prepared quickly here. During the numerous times I've dined at the Corner Deli the staff has always been efficient and pleasant. I just have no idea where the various service complaints come from???? I have never experienced any. But, we all know that the internet is infamous for bitching about service when people don't fall over backwards to kiss your posterior. The net just attracts those types, doesn't it? These folks need a little introspection, for certain. The menu is quite extensive and they do use a lot of Boars Head products. Cold subs and hot subs are available from pastrami to Italian sausage, meatball subs to Philly cheesesteaks, from turkey subs to tuna melts, from cajun chicken to southwestern chicken sandwiches. They offer several sizes to fit your budget......mini, regular, large, jumbo, and family size sandwiches. THE PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE.....a good deal for the buck! Today I ordered a large number "8" sub (capicola, genoa salami, and provolone with green peppers, onions, shredded lettuce, a little mayo and mustard. It came with a soft drink and the total cost (2018) was only about $8.00! A great deal. The service was so prompt that a kind lady was able to bring my sandwich out while I was filling my drink cup! She had been listening and preparing it while I ordered a few feet away with another young lady. I noticed another gentleman come in while I dined and his order was ready to go for takeout within 30 seconds of ordering! How's that for service? The sandwich roll is broader than the usual, e.g. subway's. I have always felt the bread used in the sandwiches at Corner Deli is a little thick and dense....but it is fresh and flavorful. They put a lot of cheese in the number "8" sandwich and a fair amount of meat. The ingredients were all fresh. This was a very good Italian sub-sandwich....most enjoyable. (They will put vinegar and oil, oregano, black pepper etc on the sandwich if you request it.) In the past I have ordered a Philly cheesesteak and found it sort of average. I have also ordered an Italian hot sausage sandwich and it didn't seem to have real Italian sausage in it....but that was years ago. Perhaps it is different now? I do want to return in the near future to try their Philly once more. What to expect if you go: A nice little sandwich shop with very efficient service, an extensive menu, excellent prices, various size options, and food that is usually very good....high quality. Heck yes, Corner Deli! This is a no-nonsense deli that serves classic sandwiches. The employees are always super nice and it's obvious they care about the quality of the food. I've had the Philly-style cheese-steak (hot) and an Italian style club (cold) and both were delicious. I've also tried the potato salad and coleslaw to go and both were very tasty. Service is quick and the prices and portion sizes are perfect. There are a lot of options on the menu and a lot of cool looking photos on the walls. We have always loved going to corner deli but now that the new owner has taken over he's a bit much. So when you're in the facility he's way over the top the food is a bit different now, we used to feel we were getting a good value for the money we paid now not so much. The quality seems to have dropped down a little bit which can be expected when somebody new takes over. Unfortunately the owner is also extremely rude and Customer Service is nonexistent. I called yesterday while I was in town to place a carry out order and the girl that answered apologized and said they no longer take orders over the phone you can use the app or you can come into the store. That was weird in itself what restaurant doesn't take orders over the phone?so we went to the store. My husband went in and the owner was taking the orders and he politely said you know you really should be taking call in orders that's a big piece of running a restaurant and the guy looked at him and in the most asshole-ish way said "nope not happening" so my husband told him OK then you don't need my business and he left. read more
