Ordered a turkey French dip with cheese, they didn't include cheese on half the sandwich (which we were charged for). Additionally, we got a you pick 2 and the sandwich with the combo was far from 6 inches. They also forgot the tomato bisque soup that was ordered as a side for the turkey French dip. Really bad experience here, it would be ideal to get a gift card or free entree for next time. Lastly, the cost...completely outrageous. $50 for a combo, a 12 inch turkey sandwich and 2 large drinks. Oh McAlister's what is happening to you! I have been a McAlister's fan for years. Like before I ever had a Yelp account. I have been a fan since the 4 cheese griller came with pizza sauce in it! I have always ordered 1/2 sweet and 1/2 unsweet tea. And I have always thought the tea was overpriced. But, this McAlister's did some renovation recently and it does not look inviting. At first I thought the renovations weren't terrible but then as I sat and felt cold, exposed, and rushed by the lighting and decor I realized the new decor is off putting to say the least. And our meal for 2 with 2 drinks was almost $40. I know what you are thinking they must have ordered an extravagant meal. Nope - choose 2 with a baked potato and soup and a club sandwich. Nothing extraordinary. I don't know what to think. My heart and tastebuds are conflicted. The food was good but the price and ambiance made me think I might as well sit down in a Restuarant with a server and relax. EVERY staff member says "hello! Welcome to McAlister's" upon entering! I mean EVERY STAFF!! They did that for me and I observed them consistently do so with everyone that entered. It was such a nice energy to walk into plus it keeps all the employees engaged. I liked it. A couple years ago I dined at McAlister's Deli and enjoyed their French Dip sandwich. It's been way too long since I returned so I decided I needed to try their big 12 inch Italian sub. I found McAlister's to be bright, clean, open, and a great place for comfortable dining. Many seating options available. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Creating my sandwich seemed more a work of art than sandwich preparation at Jimmy John's and it took about 15 minutes to get it to my table. Everyone of the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. As a side item...the sandwich supposedly came with a side but I should note that they charged me an additional $1.49 for the side...I ordered their Mac n Cheese. I have rarely experienced good Mac n Cheese in a restaurant, but I thought I would give it a shot. It was really poor. This pap had no body to it and was completely tasteless. Rate it an "F." They should be ashamed to put this stuff on the table. Do yourself a favor and order the fruit or salad, anything but the Mac, when you dine at McAlister's. The sandwich arrived on an attractive white dish. The presentation was great. The fresh baguette was cut into halves and was stuffed with a ton of meat. This sandwich was priced at $3.00 to $4.00 more than Jimmy John's 12 inch sub but it had four times the meat! Inside there was a spring mix, various roasted peppers, ham, salami, some pungent onion, provolone cheese, black olives, tomato, and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. This was one very good and filling sandwich. Rate it an "A-" meaning between very good and excellent. My only suggestion is that it could use more seasoning. Spice it up a little. At the end of the day this is a nice deli and a comfortable dining spot. They have an excellent menu featuring many kinds of sandwiches, loaded spuds, salads, soups, and chili. We put an order in, waited over an hour for the timeframe they gave us after I got an email with CONFIRMATION from MacAlister's Deli, and then when I called to check on the status of the order after it was still not here I was told they actually never entered the order in, and therefore had no order to deliver to me. We went to the McAlister restaurant in Las cruses to get a sandwich for lunch. We spilt a large Italian. We could not believe how good it was!! It was very filing. The meat alone was about 3/4" thick with grilled meats, and the topping were fantastic. read more

I was a Yuuuge fan of McAllisters and it's always been something I look forward to eating. Right sandwich, right sauce and the potato salad has always been a fave. Today was the worst experience ever with the quality of the food served. Emmy husband and I ordered grilled Chicken clubs, I always order a side of orange cranberry sauce and to my surprise and instant heart brake the sauce has been discontinued. I cried got over it but then the food came out and I was even more disappointed. My husbands Mac & Cheese was sooo runny and barely any macaroni noodles. The portions were super skimpy. He ordered a Bowl of Soup to go and was given a cup in a large ass bowl lol The pickle slices were the size of a straw. I couldn't believe how good this place once was and where they're at today. They have a point system that you can join to get reward food back for the customers. I took just 3 of us instead of 4 and thalis visit ran me about $48. The sandwiches are a great size, I didn't leave hungry. I still would like to go back and try it again. They have a great kid menu with a few different options for sandwiches as well as sides. Family brought me an order to go. They are BIG patrons of McAlisters. I ordered the choose 2. I got 1/2 McAlisters Club and the Italian Chopped Salad. See pictures for both of these. The Club - I ate one quarter and noticed the top layer just had a small piece of bacon, lettuce & tomato. So I go to the 2nd one. The top portion had lettuce tomato and honey mustard. NO MEAT or Cheese. Italian Chopped Salad. I ordered it without peppers. The whole top of this was covered with a lot of sliced red onion--- not chopped. The lettuce was whole --- not chopped. This is NOT CHOPPED SALAD. Then there was a chunk of MOLDY romaine lettuce. I pulled that out n found some pieces of hard provolone- just a few. Then in the next bite was another piece of rotting romaine. EWWWWWW I was afraid what else I might find. Or possibly had already eaten. Yuck yuck yuck. I'm not going back. A colleague of mine loves the tea here so I told her I would get lunch. The young lady who took my order did great and got the order spot-on. The young man who packed my order and said it was ready for pick-up...not so great. I got back to the office and items were missing. For the price, the food is just so-so.
