Overpriced food, and good service. Not sure I understand the hype behind Whataburger. In-N-Out is a better establishment to get a burger.

Start with the food, it's always hot and fresh, actually cannot say I've ever been disappointed , Starting with the expensive times we are in the companies that operate with these high standards are the ones that will thrive and be able to weather the market changes. Thank you. read more

Service was mediocre. Food was okay. My biggest issue, is that I solely go to whataburger for the honeybutter sauce and wasn't given any. If going, please check your bag for all requested items. read more

I've tried it numerous times. I want to see what almost the hype is about. Every time I've gotten a burger all i could taste was the mustard. What's funny about the comments is, the mere fact that you continue to compare it to In-N-Out shows that you admit In N Out IS the standard. Otherwise you wouldn't have to mentioned it. 41 In N Out in Texas. 0 Whataburgers in CA. GTFOH. read more

What to the Chase Normally, I'm not into fast food nor doing fast food reviews, but Whataburger® (WAB) has been on my radar for a few years after an incident amongst two friends. Normally, these two guys are the nicest dudes ever, but somehow, the discussion of who made the better burger between In-N-Out® (INO) or WAB--and all hell broke loose. They nearly came to blows as the rest of us had to quickly eliviate the situation and separate them. Ironically, the TX boy was jocking INO, and the Cali boy was touting WAB--go figure! So this always had me wondering who really was better: INO or WAB?? Well, I was finally able to try WAB for the first time on our recent visit to New Mexico to answer the question for myself. History: *Both INO & WAB have been around for years, with INO being a smidge older (1948 vs 1950). But they're both still iconic to their regions and have signage and colors that travelers can spot from a mile away. Winner: Draw Locations: *WAB has over 890 locations primarily in the South and Desert Southwest, while INO has 265 locations primarily (69%) in Cali, but has started to migrate east with a few locations in NV, AZ, CO, and even TX. Winner: WAB Service: *INO *always* has world-class customer service no matter how many different locations I've visited. My one lone WAB experience the service was fine. It's better than most fast food places, but nowhere on the level of INO. Winner: INO Menu: *INO's Menu is essentially burgers, fries, and shakes/sodas, while WAB has chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, salads, pies and even breakfast. Yes, INO has the vaunted "secret menu," but it's not going to pull a chicken strip out of thin air. Winner: WAB Burger: *Both chains claim to use "fresh, never frozen" beef, but in my opinion, INO's burger is 10× better quality. The beef tastes fresh and juicy, while WAB's burgers reminded me of something I'd get in elementary school at the cafeteria. Plus, why do their buns look like they've been sat on?? 0_o Winner: INO Fries: *I've made no secrets in the past that INO's fries are trash; they can be salvaged and made edible thru some secret menu tricks (e.g., well-done, animal-style, etc.) but straight-up they're terrible. WAB's fries are doing a decent job trying to mimic the Clown's amazing fries, but they're just a bit short of that golden standard. Winner: WAB Shakes: *Both have strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla, but WAB has seasonal flavors included, and their shakes seem more like real ice cream than INO. Plus, WAB has HUGE sized shakes for when you really want to pack on the pounds. And, yes, I realize INO has the option to combine the shake flavors (e.g., chocolate-strawberry, Neopolitan, etc.) but gimme a break. Winner: WAB Conclusion: Hmm there really is no clear winner in my book. On the one hand, if you're judging **PURELY** on burgers alone, then INO is the clear Champ. But on an overall experience, WAB gets the slight edge for the menu diversity and superior fries and shakes. So, the answer is that it depends on how important the burger is to you. Personally, I'd pick INO as I'd rather have the superior burger and I can deal with the mediocre fries and shake, but that's just me. read more

Came here late night for food. Ordered the double hatch chile burger with fries. Fries were just ok. The burger toast I ordered was soggy. It did its job but nothing amazing here. read more

They got our order correct, but forgot our sauces on our to go order. The burgers were fresh, but fries were hard and didn't taste fresh. It was good for what it's worth. read more

Welcome to the fast food chain of Texas and it's surrounding areas. It's essentially the In-N-Out of the Southern US. The last time I visited a Whataburger, I didn't remember it much so knew I had to come back to try. We ordered a Patty Melt ($6.64), Spicy Chicken Sandwich ($5.09), and Onion Rings ($2.84). We also got the Jalepeno Ranch sauce to go with it. Wow, their sauces come in a huge container, which makes sense why they charge 35cents for them. I have to say that the Patty Melt was an absolute favorite with the juicy patty, melted cheese, grilled onions and creamy pepper sauce sandwiched between two Texas toast --so, so good! The onion rings were also nice and crunchy in a beer batter. The chicken sandwich was the only item that fell short as it was rather dry, but the sauce helped. Whataburger is a staple fast food joint. You can easily see why the Patty Melt is an all-time favorite. If you make it here between 11pm-11am, make sure to get their honey biscuits! Also love that this place is open 24/7 too. read more

Hamburger was subpar at most. Took my time in letting girl at counter know what I wanted on my double cheeseburger. Needless to say I didn't get what I asked for , instead they went extra with the ketchup and no mustard/ mayonnaise or cheese. Good grief! I won't be back. Waist of $13 and time explaining to the girl -best of luck to you all lol read more

Whataburger Is getting Worse here..... Avoid at all cost. I called in a food order at 5:26am, so that when I arrived I can just pick up and go. When I arrived my food was not ready. I had to wait which made me late for work. They forgot to add my Hashbrowns and charged me full price. I paid cash. Ismael Hernandez did not care that I was frustrated and did not offer to compensate me. I paid $7.97 for a substandard meal. I'm posting this on Yelp and Google. To warn customers. I feel like they ripped me off. This is the 3rd time they screwed up my order at this location. read more

Very upsetting. Took 10 minutes to make 1 burger. Drove less than a mile away to my home, opened my burger and both buns had been DRENCHED in some liquid. DRENCHED. Why is it funny for people to not only NOT do their job but to mess with FOOD. I would not go to this location, I had given this location a good 6 months before I came back because of orders always being messed with and they are no different now either. Very very sad and disgusting that they do this to people. read more

Best burger in town and much better than California's In and Out Burger. Service at their restaurants is always very accommodating. Ambiance is on par with most burger joints and the service personnel are always courteous. read more

I haven't been to Whataburger in a long time because they had really gone downhill. I gave them a chance last night and it was a little bit better but not by much. I ordered a double meat burger with green chile and some of what they call chicken wings. The meat in the burger was overcooked and kind of dry, the green chile was almost nonexistent and the overall quality was mediocre. The "wings" were just chicken nuggets with buffalo sauce. I'll stick with Burger Nook and Blakes. They both make a much better burger. read more

So SAD!!! I thought for sure I would love this place.. My burger no bun was so plain the meat was not good. The fries were good and the staff was really nice. That is the reason for 2 stores nice staff and good fries. I would not eat here again. read more

Stopped here on a road trip. I've never eaten at a Whataburger restaurant. The address is 190 E. University so I hope this is the right on. The food was amazing but what impressed me most while I waited was the staff. They worked seamlessly and cleaned the entire time I was there. If they weren't waiting on customers, serving or making food they were cleaning. It's not what I'm used to observing at most fast food restaurants which is why I don't usually eat at one. If I in Las Cruces this would definitely be my burger joint. read more

Every so often I just got to have a good fast food burger and fries. When I do I head over to the popular Whataburger on Telshor. I usually order the double meat Whataburger with cheese and green chile. The fries are crispy and thin. These are good fast food fries. Rate them about a "B." The burger has a nice bun (not great.) the meat patties are good but not very juicy...but this is fast food and these are obviously not gourmet burgers. The burger was rounded off with lettuce, tomato, and onions. Rate the burger a "B+" for a fast food burger. It is a real good fast food burger. The service at the counter today was efficient and pleasant. Drinks are self serve. After about eight minutes they delivered the burger and fries to my table with a box of condiments to choose from. The price for the combo was great for this day and age. All in all, this was a most enjoyable fast food experience. I'll certainly return now and then. read more

Bella walked to our vehicle & took our order. We were in an extremely long line & there were 6 of us ordering. She was SOOO friendly! She could've been cranky & impatient like so many other people would've been but she wasn't! People like Bella are one in a million! Excellent customer service!!! We are from San Antonio, Texas! Went through the drive through last night, Ida was the person taking our order. She was the sweetest and calmest cashier/drive through person that I've ever dealt with. Tonight, just ok. If you were to ask me my favorite fast food burger place, I'd say Whataburger but tonight it was just ok. I had a double green chile cheese burger, fries and chocolate shake. The drive through line was long but we got through quickly. I didn't realize when I upgraded my meal to large that included the shake, whoa it was huge! The shake was bomb, burger ok and fries meh since they weren't fresh. 3 stars. read more

I can't imagine how long they would take if the lobby was open. I understand the limitations they have due to the Covid-19 but to wait for about 20minutes for one combo meal and two individual items is enough to not endure that again. Vehicles behind me were all served and were going around me to exit the parking lot. I mentioned the wait to the girl bringing me my food and she said it took so long because I ordered chicken as they are only fast with hamburgers. This is not the first time I've waited an insane amount of time at this location. I looked for the manager to let her know of the problem but she was busy chatting with a car who appeared to be her friends. No more whataburger for me! read more

A #1 with all the extras is about $10.50. Their soundbox at the drive thru isn't that great because I had to repeat myself a couple of times and I could barely hear them. Pretty good food but they could work on their logistics a little more. Their two lane waiting system at the drive thru is a mess. If you're in lane A and someone is in front of you and someone is in lane B to your side, you're trapped in there until someone moves. They should ask people to park in the lot or pull over farther to the side. This ditzy employee who was collecting the money outside and bringing out the drinks wasn't paying attention to where they were walking. I was pulling up to the window and they literally flung open the side door and walked in front of my car without looking. Good thing I knew people came out of that door. When I was pulling away they did it again; they walked right in front of another car and the driver had to hit the brakes. read more

Sucks that the food is good because the service is HORRIBLE. The server brought me my remade food and put the tray on top of my food that I was actually eating. Then the remake was the same issue... I order the most simple burger.. Meat, cheese and bread.. And consistently get my burger without cheese.. How hard is it to put the order in correctly and make it properly? Got the green chile cheese burger and it was amazing! The fries were surprisingly Really good too.
