I loved this place. It's not a chain. I'm familiar with. We were out of town at the time. I don't know if this is popular in New Mexico, but I didn't notice that they had more than one location. It was a weird combination of In-N-Out and five guys the service was excellent. The ambience was typical fast food sterile environment. The lighting was cold, which made it uninviting. The food was amazing. We had burgers and fries and a milkshake. It was all delicious. Would definitely go back! read more

Always quality and always hot but always a little dry , the dining room area is clean and almost forgot they have the best onion rings in town. Service has always been attentive and friendly! Usually Blakes is really good. But not today. the food was very cold and the hamburger patty was as thin as paper. The only good thing was the drink. Do better Blakes. The burger was OK, nothing spectacular. When you ask for a fountain drink, they give you a cup of ice already filled and you fill it yourself with the soda, but the cup has many indentations since it's Styrofoam and the lids don't fit properly. The woman who took my order did not ask if it was to go or if I was going to sit inside to eat it so when it was served to me on a tray, I asked the woman working the fryer at the front counter if I could just get a bag so I could take it to go. Blake's is to New Mexico what Whataburger is to Texas. The original green chile Lotaburger is a must try for newbies, with all burgers made fresh. My go to is a Lotaburger with cheese and jalapeño, with seasoned fries and a shake. Wait times can be longer during peak times, but well worth the wait. A New Mexico institution that travelers to the state should add to their plans. read more

My mom always asks when I come to town why she isn't allowed to cook me a bunch of home cooked meals. It is because she doesn't make a burger and fries likes Blake's Lotaburger does. I can't help myself when I come into town to eat one of their delicious Lota Burger New Mexico Style. Their green chile is always flavorful. They have reduced there burger sizes and kept the same prices. It is not worth getting their burger as the price does not match what you're getting. You can get same size of burger for less money at other burger places. read more

Service was pretty damn good the gentleman that took my order this afternoon was EXTREMELY courteous! On to the the important stuff... Food was lackluster. Large fries were small (but they were good)... Burger was over cooked... I didnt order two hockey pucks! I wanted to try Blakes... now I know what it's all about. They have recently implemented a phone in automated system; to take your order, sadly it isn't accurate and our orders, always seems to be incorrect and i have to call back, talk to a human, in an attempt to fix the original order. Today, after pickup the to go order; the order was still wrong, still after revising with a call back. This is a case, where computer based voice artificial intelligence automation; actually makes things worse, rather then expediting the orders, causing problems for customers and added stress, for the food prep staff, location management. read more

The place at this location was disgustingly dirty and just filthy, including the staff's aprons while serving customers at the register. However, I was urged to try the green chili burger. I am glad that I was able to look past that because the simplicity and yet unique taste of my green chili burger was simply amazing. I hope I get the chance to eat another one before I leave Las Cruces. I would even claim--without trying to step on diehard In and Out burger fans--that it beats the In and Out burgers. So only one star deducted for the visual aspect of the restaurant itself and four stars for great prices and the amazing taste. read more

Overall, a decent burger joint with some old fashion burgers. I can't say it was bad since with the right toppings this burger really popped with some spice! I definitely recommend adding the green chilis cause if you didn't it'll pretty much be a basic burger. I ordered the number 1, which came with fries. I would have liked it much better it was fresh cut potatoes. The place itself is very black and white and minimal design. I guess you come and go for what you came for. This place has simple burgers done the New Mexico way. It is definitely fast food. The patty has a good flavor but it reminds me of the McDonalds burger patty flavor. It is really thin. The bread tasted like the buns I get from the frocery store, old, stale, and gets soggy fast. The best part was the seasoned fries. I could have eaten those for days! It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I found myself going for the fries and being bored with the burger. Unfortunately this is probably the best burger in Las Cruces. read more

This Blake's wasn't that busy on the Saturday night I visited, the staff was super friendly and got my Green Chile Lottaburger to me quickly. The burger was absolutely delicious, just spicy enough without being overpowering. We were immediately greeted by an employee sweeping the restaurant. That alone is impressive. It was reassuring to know that employees are kept busy when not cooking or prepping. The tables were cleaned and wiped down. The entire place was clean. This is an older store but very clean. We ordered a burger with seasoned fries and a soda. I ordered a green chili burger and onion rings in place of fries. The burgers came with mustard, pickles, tomato, shredded lettuce. The green chilis made it hot and very yummy! I normally love Blakes, but not this one. The place was filthy. There's a sign saying "If the floor isn't clean enough to eat off, neither are the tables.". I guess they were right because neither was clean. The staff didn't seem to understand things like heating the green chile on the grill before putting it on the burger either. To top it off we couldn't get drinks for a while because, while they were told the machine wasn't working, the person who fixes it ignored it until forced to do something by a manager.
