Her end result made my dress that much more beautiful and everyone thought the belt came on the dress originally! I am writing to express my extreme disappointment regarding the alterations performed on my wedding…read moredress at Sonya's. My wedding dress was one of the most important and sentimental purchases I have ever made. I dropped it off for alterations on April 15, 2026, and picked it up on May 22, 2026. As this was my first experience with professional alterations, I trusted your team to handle my gown with care and expertise. About a week after picking up the dress, once I had the proper undergarments, I tried it on and was devastated by what I discovered. The dress had sustained significant damage to the fabric and construction. The alterations were poorly executed, and the condition of the gown was completely unacceptable. On May 31, 2026, I immediately contacted your shop and provided detailed photographs documenting the issues. The photographs clearly showed multiple problems, including visible damage to the fabric, off-centered sewing, uneven and careless stitching, layers of fabric sewn together in a way that makes no sense, and extremely poor cutting. There is also a noticeable light pink discoloration on the sleeves that was not present before. I have no idea why the layers were sewn together the way they were. The workmanship is shockingly poor and has fundamentally changed the appearance and structure of the gown. What was especially upsetting was being told that the photographs showed nothing wrong. The damage was obvious and extensive. This was not a matter of minor imperfections or subjective preference. The gown was visibly altered in a careless manner that should have been identified and corrected long before it was returned to me. During our conversations, I was also told that I had signed an agreement regarding workmanship. I did not sign any such agreement, and despite requesting a copy, none has been provided. This only added to my frustration during an already stressful situation. After several discussions, a full refund was eventually offered if I returned the damaged dress. With my wedding only two months away, I felt pressured to accept because I had no time left to continue disputing the matter. While I appreciate the refund, it does not undo the damage that has been done. I returned the dress to your shop on June 5, 2026, at approximately 12:00 PM and signed a note acknowledging the return in exchange for the refund. This entire experience has been heartbreaking. My dress was stunning before the alterations. Instead of feeling excited and confident as my wedding approaches, I am now left scrambling to find a replacement dress with very little time remaining. The emotional stress, disappointment, and unexpected financial burden this situation has caused cannot be overstated. I hope you take this complaint seriously and use it as an opportunity to review your alteration processes and quality control procedures so that no other bride experiences what I have gone through.
