Han's tailor shop is a local staple that has been around decades. The seamstresses at this location are amazing, fast, and proficient. Upon visiting the location I was treated as if I had been known for years, the employees are extremely friendly. They only take cash so customers must make sure to have money. Their prices are reasonable and fair. I would recommend this business for wedding dress and suit alterations. read more

I would highly recommend this tailor shop over any others in the area, their prices are very fair and the turn around time was quicker than I expected, it took only 2 weeks for my dress to be altered perfectly and returned back to me! She did an amazing job with what I asked for to be done, and I'm overall very satisfied with the quality of the service I received. She was also very kind and measured me very quickly and accurately! Just know this a cash-only establishment so be prepared for that. I will go back here anytime I need anything else altered but thank you for listening to exactly what I needed and helping me get the best experience with my wedding dress! read more

She is good at tailoring but she does not give what the customer asks for. She will argue with you about the length you want your pants. I wear these pants with different shoes i need them where i ask. Recently, i went for some pants to be tailored and cover the heel, i saw her pin them to cover the heel but got the jean jumpsuit back and they are high-waters when worn with the heels i had them tailored to. she only accepts cash, which is quite inconvenient and after this last instance where she wouldn't give me my clothes unless i paid for then all at once. I won't be back. If I want to pay for 2 of the 3 pants i and hemmed, why can I not if I have the money. She wanted to hold them hostage unless I paid for them all. If I had all the CASH to pay for them all, I would've. After one or two visits, her service and kindness leaves. I think my main problem is that you should listen to the customer. As a young individual who enjoys fashion, my standards are not going to be the same as an older woman and i enjoy the style and length that i like and request for. read more

I took them there because they have the right machines to do a professional looking job. Unfortunately the hems are very puckered and won't press out. I'm out $98 for the pants and $23 for this awful outcome. The fabric is synthetic and obviously they can't work with this material. read more

It was Monday, and I had to get my JROTC pants tailored ( I needed them to be hemmed and for the waist to be fitted) because they were too big, and I had a competition on Wednesday and needed them before then. I couldn't find anywhere else, so I went to Han's Tailor Shop. Long story short, Mrs.Han took 5 minutes to measure me, and told me I could pick it up that Wednesday morning for a cheap price. She did amazing, and I am grateful that she could fix my pants for me! read more

I was in the Brandon area and I needed alterations done on my bridesmaid jumpsuit. I went on Yelp for research and i went to this place based off the reviews. This shop is placed in an established area where you can tell it's been there for a while. There are a few dressing rooms in the front. A platform where she wants u to stand so she can measure you. In the back is their sew area where they get the job done. I appreciate this place because my first jumpsuit was so big, she didn't accept the job because she wanted me to save my money and i had time to order another size. When i came back with my new size it was a much better fit and we were able to just get the length altered. She saved me so much money! The turnaround time was amazing too. I went in on a Thursday evening and she was able to have my outfit ready that Tuesday morning. I honestly don't think they accept cards because she told me cash only. That's the only downfall. It was good to talk to some of her customers as well because they stated that they've been going to Han's for years. I want to say they are open Monday through Saturday too. They stay open as late as 6 pm. If I'm ever in need for alterations again, Han's is where I'll be going. read more

I will not recommend this tailor to anyone. I took two pair of pants and a long sleeved collared shirt to this seamstress. She was to shorten the sleeves due to shirt was a little too long on my arms. This was for a very important dinner. I picked up my shirt, she turned a long sleeved shirt into a shirt sleeved shirt! She didn't call to inform she made a mistake. She knew for a fact she messed up. This happened the day before my dinner. I will NEVER cheat on my seamstress again. read more

The woman who seems to run the show here took great care of me! I brought in an unfinished suit that meant a lot to me and cost me some dough. Based on Yelp this seemed like the place you go. I told her there was no rush, but she had the suit ready in a day and a half, and it came out perfect. Got me a new tailor! read more

Dropped off 3 pants and said they would be done in a week. $15 each to hem. Went back in a week to take my pants on a trip and they were not done. Told her to hold them until I got back. Went back and they were done but on the floor in a pile. Not sure how I feel about it all. read more

Quick turnaround and quality work hemming pants and adding pockets to dresses. Highly recommend

This shop saved my life! I was in a wedding and had paid $175 for my dress to be hemmed and tailored at another shop. When I picked it up and tried it on it still didn't fit right... I was leaving for the wedding in 3 days... I called Han's and they were able to tailor the dress perfectly! That's where I should've went in the first place! read more

I had a vest and work pants to be altered and the pants weren't ready when I went in so she goes to the back and after a few minutes she comes back and I try them on...exactly the same as when I turned them in. I tell her the pants that she just got from the back are exactly the same from when I turned them in and she tried to argue and still charged me. The vest was great but please take pictures of your clothing before so what happened to me doesn't happen to you. read more

I got a dress neckline tailored for a dinner banquet and I absolutely love it. I went in last minute, the day before and they were able to accommodate to my needs. The neckline was round and kept coming up and I wanted a v-neck. No issues, the stitching was great and you couldn't even notice the change at the neckline. Not sure if she can always do rush orders but I'm thankful for it. I paid $25. Literally hidden on 60 across from Med Express in the plaza. Good parking. I will definitely be returning. She only accepts cash and check no card read more

I hate to purchase cloths as I can never find anything that fits...getting old and gaining weight. Finally I had to go shopping for pants and found some but where they fit in other places way too big. Went here. Right off the bat, the receptionist politely tells me to loose four inches off my waist if she is to let some pants out...We had a good laugh. Next, I put on the pants I bought and needed her to take in. Right away she went to working sticking pins in. Come back in a week and I did....perfect fit. Going out to purchase another pair and take them over. Not afraid to shop for pants now, but started working on loosing the four inches. read more

These folks do a pretty good job; I've brought several suits in for alterations in the last few months, and they turn them around quickly. There was one instance where one suit didn't fit correctly after they worked on it, but they corrected it within a day. It isn't cheap, but since it's quality work, to me it's worth it. The location is very convenient, more so if you live in the Brandon/Valrico area. Cash or check only! read more

They do absolutely fabulous work! I took in a brand new blazer that was to big for me and she tailored it perfectly for my body the length, cut and detail was absolutely perfect. The only thing that is I don't like is they are a cash only business and you must remember to bring cash with you to pay. I had cash but was s few dollars short so o had to go to an ATM in the restaurant in the Plaza. They do quality work! read more

I needed a suit fitted and she had it ready in 3 days. They are super friendly and do excellent work. I will return and highly recommend.

First of all, I am sure the lady is a nice person but she ruined my clothing. My review is going to save you time and money: 1. I needed a zipper exchanged in one skirt and hem on the bottom of the other skirt. After a careful consideration, I chose Han`s tailor shop. I thought that if they destroy them, I won't come back, so I started with two items. Both skirts were done perfectly. 2. Ultra happy that I found a quality tailor, I returned with five items, got quoted over $100 for all five, but due to good first experience, I thought that I am paying for quality. Was told to return in a week, which was a long time, but if it was going to be well done, I understood that it takes time. 3. None of the five items was done correctly. Details below. 4. Winter jacket: I asked for a string and a fur trim to be added to the hood, as the hood was too big and was falling off when windy, so I needed the string to hold it and the fur to look sexy. Instead she reduced the size of the hood (in an ugly way) and said that now it does not need a string and she does not have the fur. 5. Very expensive (over $300) blouse: The blouse was too wide for me in the waist, and due to a large breasts and no shape of the blouse I looked like a square in it. After her tailoring, I still looked like a square in it. She has no esthetics sense and cannot tailor well to your shape. She could probably work in a factory and do repeated things over and over but she won't tailor it well for you. The other thing is that the blouse was two layers and she sewed the liner from the outside, meaning you could see the trim. I told her I want the trim to be from the inside and she argued that this way is better because the blouse is two layers. I understand but that's why I brought it and paid high price to have it tailored to my liking. Last, the blouse was burgundy, the liner was burgundy and the thread used originally was burgundy. She used a bright red thread. 6. Another blouse I needed for work: Same problem as before, the blouse was too wide and needed to be tailored in the waist. After her first tailoring, I still looked like a square in it. Unfortunately, after re-tailoring, this blouse had even less luck. She sewed it unevenly from two sides, which caused one sew to go through my left nipple and the right sew going through my side. This is also causing the cleavage part to be pulling down more from the right side and it looks asymmetrical now. 7. I had two berets that were expensive and I received as a present from my bf. I was going to gift one to my Mom, therefore one still had the tag on. The berets were too wide. The first thing she did was to cut off the tag before I could even react. During the first pick up, both berets were messed up. One was way too small and both had the thick material that she sewed from the inside left in there and poking in my ear. After re-tailoring, one beret was still too small but she already cut off the excess material so there was no way back. On the second beret, she sewed it unevenly. She ruined my both beautiful, expensive berets that had a sentimental value. I showed her one of the berets she ruined and she only said she is sorry. I mean, I really need return of the money I paid and also the cost of the berets. 8. Since she totally ruined one of my blouses and two berets, I need the money returned for what I paid for the tailoring. I cannot be paying for ruining my clothing and want to re-buy the berets, hope they are still available. 9. Since she did not ruin completely the other blouse and the jacket, even though the jacket was ugly done and the blouse not how I wanted, let's leave it at that. 10. To sum up, I paid over $100 and had to make three visits there to have all five expensive items ruined. 11. The threads were not finished up and were hanging from the clothes upon pick up. Not professional, I have to trim them myself before I wear it? 12. Never again tailoring anything at the tailor shops worldwide. Buying sewing machine asap. read more

Very pleasant with exceptional seamstress work every time! When you come there make sure you have cash for payments.

I've trusted Hans Tailor Shop with all my business and personal alterations since 2009. Awesome results each time. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. Always honest with me about the price, ensures I feel great about the cost and writes it down on the ticket so there is no surprise. I'd say the price is not cheap, yet well worth it. I've had dozens of alterations performed here. Five stars for quality, great attitude, honesty, and excellent turn around time. Sincere thanks and blessings to all the staff! :) read more

Han's Tailor Shop - Thanks, from the bottom of my heart - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Brandon, Florida

The couple that runs the shop are the BEST! I brought my dress in to be taken out an inch, and it was ready in less than 24 hours. At first she didn't think there was enough fabric to take it out but ended up being able to do it without even being able to tell. I'm new to the area and called a different suggested tailor shop first and they told me they were behind around 2 weeks and if i needed it done by next week they would charge a rush fee.... NOT with Hans! They got the job done and even stayed open late for me when i initially brought the dress in. I will definitely be going back to them. And their rates are decent, especially for quick efficient work. THANK YOU!! read more

I had Han's shop tailor a pair of pants for me that needed to have a few inches taken off the bottom. The lady in the shop needed a week to make the changes. I came back a week later ,paid for pants and left. It wasn't until a week later that I actually got around to trying the pants on and realized no changes were made at all. I took the pants back for a refund, when I walked in the door she said nice pants. I then asked for the refund explaining none of the changes were made. At that point she acted like she didn't understand English and said, "don't understand". I asked her what language does she speak? she responded again, "don't understand". I was mad at this point and started to walk out the door then she said "Good bye". Don't waste your time with this place they scam. read more

UPDATED: 05/13/2015 **UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT** Since my previous post, I have visited this location on numerous occasions for dozens of tailoring needs. A few months ago, the original owners sold this business to a new couple from Manhattan, NY. As I went into the little shop, another angry customer was leaving and said "I've had to come back several times, I can't keep coming back" .... I dropped off a pair of dress pants that needed (blind stitch) hemming which I've had done dozens of times and the lady gladly took it. A few days later, I went back and my dress pants had been shortened but the hemline was clearly visible from the outside of the pants. Imagine if you well, an internal pant cuff (the length was not cut, it was sewed to the inside) so I told her that the previous owner always hemmed with an invisible line. She said in very broken English that this is the way she does it and it would cost more for the blind stitch because it's by hand. I told her it's absolutely not a problem and I'll be happy to pay for it. We went back and forth for a few moments and she took my pants to the back. She was very audibly angry but speaking in Korean so i could not understand what she was saying. I text my Fiancee, who is Korean, to come in so she could help me with the language barrier. My Fiancee listened to what the lady was saying and it turns out she was saying (in Korean) that I was being too picky. She brought the pants back up and the hemline was gone but she said, "here take it, no pay". I said thank you, but I wanted to know what the cost would be to have the invisible hemline. She tried to explain to me that it's how she does all of her pants (as she pulled pants from the rack behind her to show me) and I explained to her I recognize how she does it, but I wanted, and was willing to pay, to have the blind stitch. She said something to the man in the back in Korean and that's when my Fiancee finally spoke up and said something in Korean. "YOU ARE KOREAN?!?!?!" ask the lady as her soul left her body and she turned white. They went back and forth in Korean for a few moments, the lady kept pointing at me, and I was standing there smiling like buffoon. Finally my fiancee said, "let's go". I said "thanks! see you next time" to a very confused looking lady and we left. When we got in the car, my Fiancee was furious and said to me that the lady was complaining to the man and to my Fiancee about how picky I was being and she did not want to do the hand stitch for me. Then my Fiancee told her that I speak Chinese so I do not understand what she's saying but am willing to pay to additional service. She said "oh, that makes sense, they (Chinese people) are all picky." which did not sit well with my Fiancee. Louder Korean words were spoken and the lady told my Fiancee that the prior owner, Han, "got too old and quit" and they're the new owners. She said she does not do hand stitching because it's not worth her time. This is the quality she's willing to produce. She also said some very mean and racist things in Korean that I cannot write on Yelp. First of all, I am not Chinese. I consider myself an American. Second, why does my ethnicity matter? This is a TAILOR SHOP, we PAY TO BE PICKY. tai·lor -tālr noun 1. a person whose occupation is making fitted clothes such as suits, pants, and jackets to fit individual customers. 9/25/2012 (Originally 5 stars) I have had 3 quality dress shirts fitted here and all three times they were fit to me perfectly. They're not expensive and very friendly. I was a little bit nervous at first so I only gave them one to try. After i saw the results, i gave them one more. After the second one was satisfactory, I gave them the 3rd. Pretty fast turn around, all 3 times have been approximately 3 days (not including weekends.) I am about to take a few more dress pants to them. I would recommend them. read more
