Luda Belan Custom Sewing is a great small, literally one-woman business, which are hard to come by these days. I contacted Luda Belan Custom Sewing in March to have a custom dress made for my wife without my wife knowing it. We live in Virginia, Ms. Luda lives in Florida, so it was a challenge for Ms. Luda to get to know a customer by a dress I secretly had sent out to her and few snapshots of the intended recipient. The dress was to be ready for our wedding anniversary in May and from the beginning I instructed to operate under certain budget which in hindsight was very low for the quality of the final product. Ms. Luda asked me all kinds of questions before making suggestions and sketching the dress, suffice to say I had a crash course on sewing, e.g. fabrics composition and properties, colors, notions, accessories and such. She was precise and to the point without beating around the bush, she explained the challenges and advantages with the dress and fabric chosen, she was incredibly patient and courteous through the whole process. The dress was ready in 6 (six) weeks, a miracle considering the distance between VA and FL, the entire communication being on the phone and messengers, and how busy Ms. Luda's schedule is. I'll save you the suspenseful details about nail-biting waiting for the package and the unravelling of it, let me tell you - it was a success beyond my wildest hopes. This woman is absolutely amazing! She altered my wedding dress and did such a wonderful job. I decided to get a new wedding dress last minute and she still managed to get it done on time with little time that she had. She added gorgeous beading where I wanted a little more coverage and fixed multiple problems that I had with the dress. I can tell that she worked very hard by seeing how my wedding dress turned out. I decided to have a long dress shortened. But also to have a customized belt and a small matching purse made out of excess fabric. Custom work is valued rather expensive due to the amount of time and material with toiles and prototypes prior to even creating the customized final product. So, I was not expecting to find a subject matter expert who charges an affordable price in a short amount of time. Luda completed the project very skillfully. Also, I took a few lessons with her when her work load was light. But usually, she is very busy. I am looking forward to more lessons in the future because I would like to learn about operating an embroidery machine! read more

Luda did a phenomenal job! She made my vision come to life!! I mean the photos speak for itself. I got this dress from Vercini at the Florida Mall.. and instantly fell in love with the butterflies but it was missing something.. As you can tell it looks depressing .. The first picture is what it looked like originally, second is how I wanted it to look.. which I thought I would've needed an under garment to make it fluffy but Luda said unnecessary and BAM! I wore this dress to my cousins wedding and felt absolutely beautiful. She even added the rhinestones to it which was a perfect subtle touch. I will definitely be going back! Omg I can't begin to express the gratitude I have for Luda. I had a seamstress that had been designing outfits for me for years, but she messed up badly and I had an event to attend which I wa the host. I found Luda on google and expressed my concerns and time frame. She did an amazing job in 24 hours. She made what was a hot mess into the hottest outfit of the night. I tried 2 other alterations places in Winter Haven and could not even get a person to answer the phone or talk with me when I went to the businesses. I'm so happy I found Luda! I brought an evening gown to her and she altered it to fit me perfectly, and she did it in less than a week. She is very responsive via text and phone and I could pay her via Venmo which was very convenient. She is very knowledgeable about fabrics and stitches, I would recommend her to anyone. Luda designed the most beautiful Mother of the Bride dress for me! The detail of individual sewed on beads made my dress unique to any other. Of course she added lace and beads to my shoes just to match. I was so excited to see the results of my dress, I asked her to design and make something for rehearsal dinner.
