    Half cheese half pepperoni pizza
    Sophie T.

I call this "I just moved and we lost track of time from unpacking everything but we're starving at 10pm and what pizza place can come in clutch right now". That is NY Pie for ya. Delicious, huge slices of pizza, huge pieces of pepperoni slapped on top of cheese, and OPEN LATE! This is exactly what we needed after a long day (and weekend) of moving, and it was a struggle finding some place open so late. Alas, NY Pie was open AND was delicious. There's also a small parking lot next to it which makes it super easy to pull in and park since it's on a busy street. The inside is small but super cute and has everything so no complaints here (chips, sodas/waters/gatorade, and a bar height table to eat along a window). Classic pizza joint. Will remember this place as the hero of our moving weekend!!

Decided to come here for a quick bite before hitting the highway back home. They had a couple different topping ready to eat slices available and I tried the ranch chicken bacon slice. I asked for sides of garlic powder and pepper flakes. They added great extra flavor to the slice and I am glad I tried the chicken bacon ranch. Super delicious! I am not a huge pizza person, but NY Pie seems to make great pizza... probably one of the better pizzas I have tried in a long time.

This place does pizza right always. It is very close to pizza from back home (Brooklyn NY). We love this spot and always travel for a slice or a pie to go. Great service. Nice and friendly staff. The smell of the sauce alone is intoxicating. Thanks you!

In the interest of full disclosure, my reason for stopping in here wasn't so much that I had heard anything good, bad, or indifferent, but it was 11:15 pm, I was craving pizza, and every other kitchen in Waltham was closed. It was clear the owner was finishing up for the night, but he graciously offered to make me something anyway. (*Side note: I intentionally used the word "graciously", because it exactly sums up his demeanor. I even said, "I know the sign says 11, so if you're trying to get out of here, I totally understand". Nevertheless, he offered to cook for me, and was so genuine about it, that I accepted) Now, let's be honest. When you're shopping for pizza at 11pm, there isn't a high probability you're going to do much better than average if you're lucky. In fact, at that hour in Waltham you'll be hard-pressed to find anything that fulfills the concept of "pizza" in even the most basic definition of the word. NY Pie is definitely the exception. I got a large Hawaiian, and it was absolutely as good as I wanted it to be. The toppings were generous, and everything was cooked perfectly. For a guy who, 10 minutes earlier, was about to close up shop, and could have been forgiven if he just threw something together to get me out the door, the owner really made a point of preparing something delicious. Good service is as important to me as good food, and in this case I really appreciated both. The owner when out of his way, and I couldn't have been happier with the food. I drive by here regularly, and after only stopping in for the first time recently, I'm now looking forward to returning to check out the rest of their gigantic menu.

    "Gourmet pizza". Abysmal.

The food here is terrible . I've gone here three or four times in the past two years and every time there's an issue with the quality of food. I ordered a specialty pizza off their menu recently and when I received it, it didn't have the toppings that they claimed to have. Their "staten island" pizza is supposed to have Fried chicken, grated parmesan, marinara, provolone cheese, mozzarella, parsley, and drizzle of ranch dressing. It was a plain cheese pizza with a couple chunks of chicken, no parm, no provolone, no basil, no ranch. I contacted them and got no response. The sauce wasn't spread throughout the pizza as well more like a ring of sauce with barely any cheese and almost 2" crust. There are better options all over Waltham. This place is a HARD PASS!

Great food and GREAT service. Perfect neighborhood spot and excellent for both family and individual dinner. They're the best pizza place in town.

Ordered takeout from here for the first time. Ordered the XLarge cheese pizza with pepperonis, jalapeños, and pineapple on half the pizza. Had a coupon, so total came out to $3.75. What's Hot - Service. Pizza was ready for pickup at the time I ordered, which was good. The staff, behind the counter, identified me quickly and knew which pizza I ordered. Quick and smooth service for pickup, which was great. Pizza was hot upon pickup and smelled delicious. - Quality. Good pizza and tasty with a good amount of toppings, but it wasn't knock-your-socks-off. I've had better. - Price. That I was able to get an XLarge pizza with 2.5 toppings for $3.75 is not bad. Additionally, they have a points system based on your orders. They also offer student and military discounts. What's Not - Quality. It is NY style pizza, so the crust is not thick and chewy. I prefer thicker crusts that have more chew. By the time we got this pizza home, the crust was crispy and not chewy. The pictures on the menu make the crust look bigger/fluffier/thicker, which it isn't. Not a very cheesy pizza, either. - Price and menu. I'm not completely clear as to how my total added up to $3.75. Why did the coupon say a free large pizza when they don't have large pizzas on their menu? They are inconsistent in their advertising. A large pizza on the menu we received in the mail is listed as $13.99. However, an XLarge pizza on their website menu is listed as $13.99, also. When I added pepperoni on the website, it added $1 to the order. However, pepperoni is listed as an extra $3.50 on the paper menu we received in the mail. Why is there this contradiction?? Jalapeño is not listed on the paper menu we received. When I added it to the order on the website, it looks like it's an additional $3.50. That a veggie costs less than a meat addition is uncommon. Why is there a contradiction in the in their information and advertising? Not a good sign. - Service. According to the coupon mailer we received, the coupon clearly stated a free large pizza. The instructions stated you need to set up a profile on their website, which I did. However, the online menu did not have the option of a large pizza. The only 2 sizes available are medium and xlarge. As a result, I called the restaurant. The staff who answered said they only make medium and large pizzas. When I asked him about the coupon mailer, he said he didn't know anything about that and that he would need to ask his manager, who wasn't available. The staff asked me to call back in 5 minutes, which I did. When I called back, the staff who picked up immediately asked me to hold, which I did. I waited almost 5 minutes and when he did not come back, so I hung up. I don't understand what's so complicated with this menu and why their staff aren't aware of the simple details. Final Answer Willing to come back, but not a first choice. Not bad, but I've had better and the inconveniences may not be worth it.

Well..well the old NY Pie is back!! Great sandwiches and pizza!! My only criticism would be there was too much chicken in my Ceasar wrap, if that's a bad thing. So much I needed a fork .

Just add more sauce to your pizzas - just double the amount of sauce and the pizza goes from average to very good.

Stazione Di Federal is located in downtown Waltham near the T stop. After a long day in Cambridge we were ready for sustenance but what we discovered at Stazione Di Federal was more than just a refueling stop. Housed in an old residence that has been exquisitely restored, Stazione Di Federal features beautiful interior work including crown molding throughout and stately plaster window casing that creates a warm, comfortable ambiance. It also has a magnificent hardwood floor that shines like a mirror. The high ceiling, brick walls, and nicely spaced tables gave it a Tuscan trattoria feel that complements the menu. We were greeted warmly by the owner, John Brackett, who showed us to our table in the main dining room. Our server, Patty, provided attentive and informative service throughout our two hour excursion. Stazione Di Federal is a scratch kitchen featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and boasts an impressive curated wine list with superb selections from the many regions of Italy. We started with an extra dry Hendricks Gibson up (Finally! A Gibson!) and an Alto Adige Tramin Sauvignon Blanc. Italy's South Tyrol deserves more credit for its exceptional whites and the Tramin more than did justice to the grape. Our appetizer was beef carpaccio composed of paper-thin NY strip, shaved pecorino, arugla, capers, and EVOO. This was served with an exceptional focaccia which, together, was an outstanding way to start our meal. Their menu is broad and enticing; it was rather difficult to decide from so many great choices but we ordered the daily special - lemon risotto with scallops and, at Patty's recommendation, the orecchiette. The risotto was perfectly cheesy with citrus highlights decorated with five seared scallops that were charred on the outside and melt-in-your mouth tender inside. Of note were the peas that dotted to risotto! The orecchiette was al dente and featured a tremendous Italian sausage that had incredible anise notes. We finished with the baklava cheesecake that was topped with a pistachio walnut crumble, crispy phyllo, and a drizzle of warm honey. As always we each paired that with a double shot espresso with a twist. Stazione Di Federal is a tribute to east coast Italian done well. Impeccable service and a warm, inviting interior made this a memorable experience!

There's an old world feel when you walk in, and the decor is elegant without being stuffy. Although we sat at a table in the main dining room, the bar area was pretty sexy. Some of the price points are high to comparable Italian restaurants, but the quality is very much higher than most. Sarah was our server and she was delightful. No imbibing today, but she had the bar tender make me a fruity-ginger mocktail. Just ask, as the non-alcoholic selection amounts to two beers. Food is amazing. The clams casino and fritto misto apps were outstanding! The swordfish special ($49) was amazeballs. I don't even really like swordfish, but they managed to make it buttery soft and very lobsteresque in flavor. The baklava cheesecake is not to be missed--not overly sweet, and I'm on a mission to replicate it at home.
