    French Toast Breakfast Sandwich
    Capri L.

Hey friends! I came across this spot on Yelp and it had pretty good reviews. I was attracted to the French toast breakfast sandwich($9) from Yelp reviews. Soooo I ordered it. I was initially repulsed by the amount of oil on the sandwich(see picture). While it was overly greasy, the flavor was perfect. French toast was cooked to perfection and was the perfect amount of sweet. Overall, I enjoyed the sandwich and next time I will request less oil. Service was friendly. Price point is affordable. Interior is bare. There is one high top bar with a few chairs for dine-in. Parking is free and ample. I'll be back to try some other menu items soon. Enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Pretty solid place! The inside is very Spartan - like there are some decorations, but there aren't even any tables to sit at; it's clear that theirs is a takeout model. Se habla español e inglés - they guy behind the counter spoke English flawlessly and was throwing out orders to his staff in Spanish. He was friendly. The food - the offerings come down to standard American breakfast fare (breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, pastries, bagels, etc.) but also a lot of Mexican dishes, including a variety of tortas (Mexican-style sandwiches) and tacos. I got a skirt steak torta and an order of birria tacos. The torta is everything you'd expect - crusty roll, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, mayo, avocado and mine had the skirt steak as the protein. Very filling and very tasty. The birria tacos were delicious - they didn't skimp on the shredded beef and they were what I expect from birria - cheesy, meaty, and greasy, with a delicious (albeit oily) consomé for dipping into. Also, along with the whole breakfast thing they have a raw juice bar and smoothies. My wife got an Energizer with pineapple, strawberries, and orange juice. It was a little thick (almost smoothie-like) but she loved it. I got the Ginger Aid with ginger, grapefruit, lemon, orange and carrot juice. So refreshing; would definitely get again. Overall a positive experience. The prices are fair and the food tasty.

    The steak torta

Phenomenal. I'd like to say that I found this gem a few weeks back and been there multiple occasions. I've had their fruit juices, Birria tacos on 4 occasions now. Their Tortas are amazing... the beef as well as the breaded chicken! WOW. Staff is very pleasant and I'll have to work on my Spanish some more in thanks for the wonderful, perfectly cooked food.

My fiancé and I have supported this local spot for years. It used to be a reliable go-to. But over time, something shifted--and now I know exactly what it is: the cook, Laura. On 11/28, I ordered steak and eggs. What I was served was not just unappetizing--it was dangerous. The steak smelled rancid, oozed a grayish liquid, and had visible discoloration. We flagged it immediately. Today, we returned to follow up and were horrified to learn that Laura had been explicitly told not to use those steaks because they were spoiled--and she served them anyway. Let that sink in. Why wasn't the meat discarded? Why did she knowingly serve it? Is she untrained, negligent, or something worse? And more importantly--why is she still employed? This isn't an isolated incident. Months ago, I stopped in for a quick lunch and became violently ill within the hour. I had to pull over to vomit and missed an important business meeting. I suspected something was off then, and from that point on, I would call ahead to make sure Laura wasn't cooking. Recently, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. There's a level of disregard here that feels personal. When I asked to speak with her after learning about the spoiled meat, the staff refused and smirked like it was a joke. It's not. This could have led to hospitalization--or worse. This is a public health issue. Laura's actions were reckless, and the restaurant's failure to act is inexcusable. I'm mortified, furious, and deeply disappointed. Willy's was once a place I proudly supported. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Until there's accountability, I won't be back--and I urge others to think twice before risking their health here.

The coffee is bold and strong, and for the price, getting a full pot that keeps you going without needing refills is a great value. The drink selection looks limited at first, but they quietly offer some very tasty juices. The kale apple stands out for me -- not normally my thing, but it works. I think there are better places for pancakes. I think there are better places for French toast. That said, it's still worth trying them -- what's missing for me might shine through for you. Where First Watch really wins: * Bacon Egg & Cheese (artisanal level good) * Million Dollar Potatoes (upgrade every time) * Crispy regular bacon * Sausage breakfast plates * Thoughtfully built savory options These plates feel crafted, not just assembled. The atmosphere brings a modern diner / brunch vibe that fits perfectly with what people are looking for today. Bright, busy, and comfortable. Location tip: Try not to sit near the kitchen -- it gets loud with staff conversations. Service is mixed * Some staff members are excellent * Others feel more transactional If you're ordering eggs, go scrambled or omelette over over-easy. Mine were undercooked previously, and it's an easy fix. Good coffee Strong savory menu Modern brunch vibe Some inconsistency Sweet items not standout (for me) That still lands First Watch at 4 stars. And with the lack of strong brunch options nearby, this is currently top dog for me. Still searching for that great French toast and pancakes.

Originally, we planned to go for my birthday, but when we couldn't get a reservation the day before, we made other plans. Fast forward to last week, excited to finally check it out I called to book a table for four for Sunday, August 10th, 2025. That included our friends who recommended the place. During the call, the music in the background made it hard for the hostess to hear me, so I had to repeat my info several times. By the end of the call, she confirmed everything and told me our reservation was set. We all made plans, kids with family, the whole day lined up. This was supposed to be stop #1 before hitting a few more spots together. But when we arrived, the hostess told us our reservation was canceled because we hadn't paid a deposit. This was news to us. No one mentioned a deposit during my call. I checked their website before booking, no deposit policy listed. Our friends even pointed out they'd been there before, sat in the same section they could see from the door, and were never asked to pay a deposit. Instead of trying to help, the hostess told us it wasn't their responsibility to inform customers about the deposit. No apology, no attempt to make it right, just moved on to the next guests while we were left outside figuring out our next move. Later that night, I messaged the business on Yelp hoping to clear things up. The reply I got back felt like an AI-generated template. So careless they even left "Sample Text Below" in the message. That told me everything I needed to know: the staff's behavior is a reflection of the leadership. For a place that only allows brunch with reservations, you'd think they'd have a clear and consistent process. Clearly, that's not the case. I wanted to like Illusions. I still believe in giving a place the benefit of the doubt. But this experience showed me that customer service here isn't a priority, and that's something no good food can make up for.

Free, surface parking lot in a shopping center (Food Lion). I arrived at 120 and checked my party in. No one is seated until 130p, so everyone just stood around waiting for their name to be called. Also, when you reserve, they send you a link to officially make your reservation and also pay a $20 deposit, that is taken off the check for whomever made the reservation My guest and I were seated in a comfy booth. Our waiter came over and was attentive to our needs/questions and explained how everything worked as "newbies". The buffet brunch was $55. If you want unlimited mimosas (OJ/Pineapple) that was an extra $20 and for flavors (Strabwerry, etc.) is was an extra $25. The buffet menu and "made to order items" were included in the $55. There was also an a la carte option. 18% gratuity is automatically added! DJ AJ Showtime and hostess started playing right before 130p and the restaurant lights were dimmed a bit. Music was great! Various food options (except any kind of desert) and they were all pretty good. There were two women who put food on your plate. It seemed like, we got in line for the buffet on order of seating. We sat down 2nd, so we were first in line. I went back for a 2nd plate (to try the soul food) and there was never a line at all. Mimosas came in a carafe. And midway thru, the guy brought a bottle of champagne to our table! Around 230 the Black Woman owner also came around and gave everyone shots. That was pretty cool, and kept everyone engaged. If you wanted to "dance" it was done in your seat. No people dancing on seats or anything lol Bathroom had 2 stalls, and was tight when you walk in Only hiccup was that it didn't seem like there was any air. Myself, guest and other tables were fanning ourselves down with napkins. Waiter said there is air but so many people in there... I had a great time!

In fairness, the place was busy but that also is typical on a Sunday around noon. We had a party of 5 and had to wait approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated. We received our coffee and waters however there were no spoons in our napkin of silverware so we had to use knives to stir in the creamer and sugar for the coffee. The waitress also brought a drinking cup full of half-n-half to the table for us to use in our coffee. This made quite a mess since pouring from a drinking cup resulted in drips and spillage onto the table. It was busy so we could not get the attention of anyone to ask for spoons after we realized they were not in the napkins. Jokes of course ensued about whether we were to use our fingers to stir our hot coffee. Later, when our entree's arrived, they had put 2 separate orders onto one plate and even though we requested fruit on the side for our french toast, the fruit was on top of the toast. These were all little, irritating things which combined made the dining experience memorable but for the wrong reasons.

You can tell people really like this place. Lots of options on the menu. I went with the classic Eggs Benedict, which here comes with an interesting twist -- they add cheddar cheese. That was new to me. My daughter ordered the Belgian waffle with sausage. They didn't ask patty or link, so we rolled the dice -- it came as links, and she wasted no time eating them. The waffle filled her up quickly. Fresh blueberries on top, crispy on the outside, airy on the inside, and sweet in all the right ways. When my Eggs Benedict arrived, it looked a little small at first and the potatoes barely filled the plate. But don't let that fool you. What a flavor. What a presentation. The hollandaise was perfect -- thick enough that it barely dripped off the muffins. Once the creamy yolk broke and mixed into that sauce, it was game over. The cheddar addition actually works, giving the whole dish another layer of richness. This is top-tier classic Benedict. Coffee was solid, the atmosphere cozy, and the pricing surprised me in a good way. My daughter's meal was $5.99, with only a $0.75 upcharge for juice, which is hard to beat these days. Good service, good food, and a comfortable place to sit down and eat. We'll definitely be back!!!

The Maryland Cab soup was good, with a lot of crab and a decent amount of spiciness. I had a French dip type sandwich with fries. I asked for my fries to be extra crispy, they were served kind of soggy and cold. The au jus for my sandwich was literally cold. That said, the food was basic but good.
