It wasn't very busy this morning, so the whole experience felt calm and very classic diner. If you've got a sweet tooth, this is absolutely your spot -- the pies and pastries look a cut above most diners. I went with the Eggs Benedict. It comes fully covered in hollandaise with a side of potatoes. * Potatoes: Bland. Seemed boiled and barely hit the grill. No crisp, no browning -- just rushed and warm. * Eggs: Properly poached. No complaints there. * English muffin: Basically out of the package with no toast. Definitely ask for it well-toasted if you order this. * Canadian bacon: Barely warm. The dish came out so fast it felt preassembled. * Hollandaise: Surprisingly sweet, lacking that savory, lemony balance that usually cuts through the richness. Because of that, the whole plate ate kind of soft and one-note -- almost like a pudding trying to be savory. Not a failure, just not what you want from a Benedict. This one was a little disappointing for me personally since this is the first place I ever had Eggs Benedict as a teenager, so there's some nostalgia attached. The Save The vibe, atmosphere, and genuinely good service are what keep this in the 3-4 star range. It's comfortable, welcoming, and still feels like a place worth coming back to -- just maybe not for that dish. I like this diner, the servers and the managers and I do come regularly to this clean location for breakfast and to the Annapolis location for dinner/desert. However... ...the prices continue to be higher than they should be for breakfast. This morning I had a veggie omelette, side of sausage and coffee. My bill was $27. So, after a 20% tip I was at $32 for breakfast. That's nuts. Omelette was $17. Coffee was $3. I think the sausage was about $4. + tax. $27.11. Barring that strong price complaint which keeps me from going more often... they have the best link breakfast sausage around. The coffee is good. I don't like their bland breakfast potatoes but the toast is nice and thick. I love a good diner and this one is well managed. Bring your kids for the pies and pastries! I've dragged my husband here 3-4 times to the Pasadena location. I love a good diner unfortunately this isn't one. He always orders a bad dish at this place it's kind of a running joke. We came here last weekend and i think it was the last straw for us. Hubs got the $18 chicken and waffles. It was a mediocre waffle with 3 tiny sad chicken fingers. We nicely complained to the server that this wasn't what we were expecting and she just shrugged her shoulders. It looked like a bad kids meal and they weren't even trying. I had the turkey club sandwich and it was as expected. Last time we visited hubs had the tuna melt and it was so soupy it just wasn't good. I think we'll stay away from this place. read more

Tons of cars in parking lot - thou not the cleanest lot. Thought there would be wait, was seated immediately. Decor very much old-fashion diner - super cute. Service was friendly and quick. Nice bonus, a lot of the entrees came with a side cup of soup - though average at best. Family got fish sandwich, pastrami wich, chix pot pie and bbq wich - again average at best. Food was not good. Glasses and plates were dirty. The cream of crab soup was orange. The chicken looks like it was cooked last weel and reheated again. I have been going to this Diner for years and I have never had any complaints. I usually get the Prime Rib and its cooked to perfection every time. I swear it's the best I have ever had. The picture I am showing will also show my boyfriend's food which is a crabcake, he absolutely loves it, says it is the best around, filled with lump crab meat. I was served this hot mess on St. PATRICKS DAY when I ordered CornedBeef and Cabbage, it was servd all chopped up. It looks like they didn't have enough of it left t and scrapped the bottom of the serving dish piled peas and carrots i top to compensate and charged me 20 bucks. I was expecting slices if corned beef, whole boiled potatoes and a cabbage wedge. My daughter got the Rock fish which was ok but a boneless filet would have been better. I eat here/order from here pretty often. They have a very extensive menu, I haven't tried the majority of it but I have eaten a few things from each section of the menu over the years. My two favorite dishes are the chicken francese and the classic eggs benedict. The chicken francese is near and dear to me because I grew up in the area where this recipe originated and Double T's version of it is way better than any of the restaurants back home. It's perfectly garnished and appropriately battered--I appreciate the extra lemon wedges they serve it with because I like mine extra lemon-y. I love this dish whenever I feel nostalgic for my hometown. The eggs benedict is another moment where this diner shines. Their hollandaise is perfection and so smooth. Honorable mention for a third favorite dish: village chicken. Their soups of the day are also very good. Moving onto what makes this place magical: the diner experience. It's a true diner. I love diners, they seems to be far and few between the further south you go. I love the ma and pop feel of it. It's got a beautiful retro exterior and inside is a typical dinner with booths and a few tables. The display case next to the register had magazine worthy dessert spread encased within it. And the menu features a lot of old fashioned foods, typical diner fair, and even some Greek specialties (the moussaka is awesome!) there's something for everyone. I will say the menu selection can be hit and miss for me--I've had a few doozies that were not enjoyable/executed well. This location, like others, is usually packed but they have ample staff and get you seated quicker than expected. There's this one guy, I'm assuming is the manager that has completely changed me from being a regular customer to possibly never visiting again. He's always dressed in black, bald, chubby and has an accent. This dude is consistently rude! Recently, I ordered food to go as I've done before. I showed up, and unlike in the past, they had the orders sitting on a table. I waited patiently and someone directed me over to said table and gestured for me to find my order with his hand. I told him my name and pointed to it. He said ok and left. I grabbed my food and was about to leave. THEN, manager guy swoops in from behind me and snatches the food out of my hand. He starts yelling "Let me see it on your phone. Show me the door dash" and slapping the back of his hand like I owe him money. I told him I don't do Door Dash. I placed an online order through their website. Then, I took out my I.D. to show him my name matched the order. He still was yelling "let me see it on your phone." Then I stopped myself from explaining abruptly and told him "DO NOT EVER IN YOUR LIFETIME SNATCH ANYTHING OUT OF MY HAND!" At this point, I was pissed. It started making a scene and everyone was looking. I felt embarrassed. Not trying to be the "angry black guy" but he was out of order and insistent. He starts telling me he's just doing his job and people steal. I told him I don't care and I didn't go to Motor Vehicle just to make a license that happens to resemble an order I can steal. I think he finally realized I wasn't backing down and he'd better calm down or get calmed down, so he gave me my food and I left. On the way out, he started saying something about "next time..." And I cut him off and said "there won't be a next time!" I get it. They may have had a recent trend of people stealing the online orders from the table or Door Dashers taking the wrong order etc. That's THEIR problem. If anything, go back to the old way you did it and bring out the orders one by one. I was in town back in December when I was first introduced to this place. It was great, so I had to stop by on this trip. There was no way I was missing out on the Chesapeake Benedict. The giant Maryland blue crab cakes with poached eggs topped with Hollandaise on an oversized Engl muffin is a must have. The home fries were crisp and buttery. My mom came to visit and invited me to lunch. She's a basic eater so diners are usually the way to go. Back home, we have (had) lots of them, though they are slowly going away. A quick Yelp search indicated there were two nearby. Double T sounded homey, so we went there. Mom was excited to see so many cars in the parking lot at 2:30 pm. "Must be good," she said. An older gentleman in a sport coat met us at the door (He looked so dapper!) and seated us in a spacious booth in the huge, mirrored dining room. You can't help but notice the display case at the front filled with delightful, mouthwatering desserts. Homemade, as we were told. Darn diet! I'm quickly learning that prices on the Chesapeake Bay Western Shore are a bit more than back home. But the menu had me puzzled. $5 for a bowl of their soups of the day (mushroom and barley was my choice) but $12 for a tuna salad sandwich. I skipped the sandwich. The menu is pretty diner-standard: breakfast all day and a dizzying array of choices. There was also a special "Greek" section. They seem to specialize in seafood, crab of course, which helps explain their popularity--$25 for a crab entree. Too bad we were only there for a light lunch. My soup was hearty and very good, but different. I expected a brown broth-based soup with mushrooms and barley. Instead it was a tomato-based broth with mushrooms, barley and vegetables. Worst place ever DO NOT GIVE THIS ENTITY YOUR BUSINESS. It is a horrible place to even get a cup of water at. They are highly races towards minority. Even all the employees are Spanish and one of them was highly disrespected by a manger in front of clientele. This business did not only have horrible service against minorities. My wife ordered The Cheesesteak which came with American Cheese not Provalone like it should and lettuce, tomato and onions served with really nice crispy French fries. The sandwich itself lacked flavor but was ok, the star of this platter was the fries. Hint, never put American Cheese on a Cheesesteak. I ordered The corned beef Ruben which came with fries, coleslaw and a nice dill pickle but I substituted onion rings for my fries. The sandwich looked great but the meat was so tough it was hard the eat and the sandwich was so soggy that it fell apart as soon as you picked it up. We did notice they finally redid the menus and got rid of some of it, which was needed. I ordered the Double T Breakfast special, which came with two eggs, bacon, home fries and French toast. I also had a coffee with the meal. The food was all cooked as ordered and good. The coffee was not bad as well. The server was fairly attentive and did well to make sure we were taken care of. I love Double T Diner. It is the only diner in the area that is a "typical" diner to me. I grew up in NJ and diners were everywhere! I could eat here everyday considering the menu is so large and there are endless options to change it up. I have always liked diner soups, especially their chicken noodle where the pasta shape rotates daily. Sunday's cream of turkey soup is my favorite rotating soup. Last night I went in for dinner and had one of their specials: garden chopped steak which has peppers, onions, mushrooms, bacon and a side of gravy. I got their lemon roasted potatoes instead of mashed because they are amazing. You have to tru them. The dinner came with an iced tea and a soup or salad. I paid extra to have both. I went a lottle overboard because this was my first time back to Double T since things started getting back to normal. I just wanted to eat everything. My husband got his favorite french dip sandwich. He always upgrades to their seasoned fries which are extra yummy. He loves their Maryland crab soup and considers it one of the better ones he ever tried. Of course I didn't leave without ordering my dessert to go. Double T proves that Greeks make better cannolis than Italians :) I ALWAYS order the cannoli to go and my husband typically gets the cheesecake. Both were delicious as expected. Stopped in for a late lunch after a movie at Marley Station. We were seated immediately and our drinks were timely served. With 2 kids and 4 adults, we had all sorts of things from the menu- a special, chicken pot pie, gyro, pot roast, and mac n cheese. Everything was spot on. Plenty of food to go around (almost everyone had boxes to go) and the price was VERY affordable. Only downside I can think of is the soup options. Most entrees come with a soup option. You can pay more for a salad. The soups were all disappointing- chicken and stars, vegetable, or some third option that sounded bland. I should have skipped the soup entirely but we were all famished after the movie. Will happily go back again in the future. read more

If I could give less than the star I would. this place is horrible on customer service. the food was fairly pleasant but they got my order wrong this is the worst restaurant I have experienced in my life. the menu brought to me stated that they had chicken masala. I ordered to go. paid for my order and once I arrived to the office I opened a box of Marsala and came back later on to return the untouched goods. since I was in a rush i asked for a refund and told me verbally they do not give refunds. I then tried to explain that I would reorder something else but I was in a rush and couldn't he started immediately threading to contact authorities to have me removed and I had to call them myself and place the complaint on the business. read more
