He is very upfront and walked me through each phase and again embraced me for the dust that would travel through out the house even with the plastic tarps taped up to capture it all. The concrete dust was crazy and can't thank Joe and his team for doing an amazing job with the 4 days they were down there. From start to finish they were excellent and you can tell they were seasoned masonry tradesmen and new there stuff. They came highly recommended to us from a family friend and seeing their work on their website which is why we called. Well, long story short it got paved the week befor Thanksgiving. Thats to late in the year. Half the driveway came out like crap. I called with my concerns and was polite and patient the whole time. He said it was the quality of the ashfalt and sometimes that happened. He offered to seal coat for no charge later the following year. I was satisfied with that. After a few months into summer I sent him a text asking if he was still going to do it . He said he had not forgot about me. Never showed. Be careful! He came to look at the sidewalk, gave me a reasonable quote, and the sidewalk job was completed a week later. Toby and his crew worked hard all day and did an excellent job, leaving us with a beautiful new sidewalk. We have hired him to come back in about a month to reseal our driveway, and I am sure Toby and his crew will do a great job with that also. These are good people who work hard and do excellent work!

We interviewed four contractors for this job and selected FR because Matt both listened carefully to us and also offered his own good ideas. They gave us a detailed and competitive estimate and we liked the idea that both owners of FR, Matt and Rich, would be onsite and doing a good part of the work themselves. As it turned out, they were simply excellent to work with at every stage of the process. FR is apparently a sought-after group and we waited about 4 months for them to start our project. During that time, Lindsay responded to our questions in a timely and friendly manner with detailed emails about what we should be doing in advance (e.g., selecting the tile, vanity, light fixtures etc.) and suggestions about which companies to check out in the area. Matt and Rich have assembled a group of skilled craftsmen who each are personable, hardworking and diligent. They arrived punctually at 9 am each day, worked steadily throughout the demolition, wiring, plumbing, drywalling, tiling, carpentry, painting and finishing touches. In the process, they took great care to protect our hallway tile, stairway and wood floors, kept things as tidy as possible, and cleaned up at the end of each day. As a result, we were able to stay in our house during the entire project. They completed the job in just over two weeks and it was impressive to watch how they coordinated the many different steps with a crew of 7. Matt oversaw the project, and also handled the plumbing, wiring, tiling, and more. He is particularly skilled at setting tile and did an artful job matching tile patterns on the floor and the tub surround. Rich built shelves in the bathroom and walk-in closet and they turned out beautifully with functional design and excellent craftsmanship. The team members were all easy to interact with and each showed great attention to detail and pride in their work. We've done a lot of house renovations (including 4 previous bathrooms) and it's clear to us that Falcon Renovations are at the top of their game. They do quality work, are as unintrusive as possible, listen carefully to your ideas and yet also have great suggestions, work well as a team and with other contractors, and clearly care about the quality of their work. We highly recommend them and plan to work with them again in the future on other projects.

It should be noted that the first review here, by "Bill B", was originally posted by a "Ross". Ross is the name of our salesman, coincidentally, and the name was changed to "Bill B" after I posted this review. Our experience with Pioneer Millworks went from bad to unworkable. While we were looking for a reclaimed wood source, they provided our contractor, Schuchart/Dow, with a sample of their reclaimed wood that everyone liked. The interior designers, NB Design Group, especially liked it for its regularity across all the pieces of wood, i.e., it wasn't just a hodge-podge of wood thrown together. Little did they know the sample had no relation to reality. Our contractor and interior designers know what they're doing. Schuchart/Dow is a respected contractor who does high-end homes and has won awards for their work. NB Design Group is a respected interior design firm who also does high-end homes and has won awards -- in fact, they are who a certain extremely wealthy Seattleite uses for interior design. These are two companies with experience and knowledge about quality. We originally planned to use the wood for wall cabinetry and for two doors. We decided to not use the wood for the doors, so we cancelled that part of the order. That was the beginning of problems with Pioneer Millworks, as their salesman threatened us with a stiff fee to cancel the order (that hadn't even shipped yet). That seemed to get resolved okay, but I've lived long enough to know that when a company starts off like that, making threats, no less, it only gets worse. This is no exception. The wood was finally delivered to our contractor. Mark, Schuchart/Dow superintendent on our project, saw it and told us that we'd better have a look at it because it didn't look like the sample. They took photos of it and, yes, a lot of it was not representative of the sample -- it looked like a hodge-podge of wood thrown together. We asked Jim Dow, Schuchart/Dow's founder and principal, what he thought of it. He said: I looked at it and it sucks......bad I instructed Katie to track down some new samples We asked our interior designers what they thought, and they said: We agree and think it doesn't look good. The photos look much more random in texture and color compared to the sample. If it were just me and Gay, two inexperienced people, we'd assume that we just don't know enough to know that's how reclaimed wood comes. But Schuchart/Dow and NB Design Group have decades of experience. They didn't like it at all. So I called Pioneer Millworks and talked to their General Manager, Martin Brett, on the phone. He insisted that we don't understand what reclaimed wood is and that we just need to find someone who can finish the wood and it'll look just like the sample -- a sample he hadn't yet seen. I asked if I could send him photos of the sample and the wood to see if he still thinks the sample is representative of the wood we received. He agreed. I sent him these photos (the first is the sample, the second is the wood we received): [Photos are on my blog entry] Anyone can see that several of the pieces look like they were taken from a Home Depot and thrown in the mix. Only half of them have the rustic saw-cuts in them. Yet 4 of the 5 pieces in the sample have them. Martin Brett couldn't see that. He thinks it's just a question of color. I guess you can provide promotional links on positive reviews but not on negative reviews. Yelp doesn't understand who their customer is.
