The new acting owner, Scott, charged me $540 for a spring clean up…read more The clean-up included leaves from this past fall, and I expected to pay more than what I had been charged by the previous owner last spring, but not 3 and a half times as much. (I provided the owner with a copy of last year's invoice for $160.00, which he already had a record of.) My lot is 4,791 square feet. In a follow-up conversation, the owner, Scott claimed the charge was justified by labor used and time spent. I was home when the job was completed, when one of the crew assured me of how quickly the job would be completed. It took no more labor and time than the work completed last spring. I had previously inquired about a price. Scott didn't respond. I knew he was busy and wanted the work done. He knew it and took advantage of me. Below is a copy of my paid invoice and of the leaves blown to the front of my yard before removal. It's a big pile, but does not justify a $540.

When I called today to see if they were going to fill them in, I was told they didn't do work for Spectrum. When I insisted it was their truck, she came back and said yes it was them but the ruts were caused by the Spectrum truck today. I was here and watching Spectrum who never even pulled into the driveway!! Their foreman denied leaving the ruts, claimed he was here today and saw Spectrums truck. Probably laying the blame on Spectrum so he wouldn't get in trouble. She was so rude - avoid them at all costs.

He did quite a bit of gardening work for us to remove ivy and ground cover, then added yards of small stone to areas where we didn't want vegetation. We were so pleased with how hard he worked & how thorough he was and how reasonable his pricing was, that we hired him for some landscaping as well. He designed a fantastic tiered garden, using some existing stones from a collapsed retaining wall, and adding layers of stone pavers. Then suggested several low-maintenance flowering plants and added several yards of mulch to it all. It has completely changed the look of our backyard -- just gorgeous! We have met neighbors for the first time, who have stopped after the addition of the landscaping, to compliment us on what an improvement it offers! Alec is kind, communicative, creative, responsible -- you won't be disappointed! Shows-up when he says he is going to, very good gauge of estimates and timelines.
