I've been to Chicago once as a tourist, driving down from Rochester, MN when I was a resident. I loved the deep-dish pizza. However, I have yet to get a Chicago hot dog. I also hadn't consumed any popcorn until recently. I was heading to my gate on concourse C to catch a flight to Minneapolis-Saint Paul and spotted Nuts on Clark. It had a couple of people looking at the flavours and I decided to join in on the fun. The famous Chicago popcorn mix is caramel and cheese popcorn mixed together. I was here on St. Patrick's Day and saw lucky corn to celebrate the occasion. It was intriguing looking at it. The caramel popcorn looked so good. I had to get some. I went with a medium bag. You can get popcorn in a bunch of different sizes and in different forms, from bags to canisters. I simply wanted to try the popcorn. If I loved it, I'd be back to get more. I had a nice man cash me out with my purchase. I paid with a credit card. Done! I tried my best to stretch my popcorn stash as long as I could. I can easily devour popcorn as if I had just inhaled it. I had more control with my caramel popcorn and managed to devour it within 24 hours. It was yummy. The popcorn was crispy and the caramel had a light coating on each kernel. My eating experience was delightful. I will try the cheese popcorn next. I feel the need to try both the caramel and cheese popcorn separately first, which is my current plan. I'll then combine both flavours and get the original Chicago mix next time. (88)

The pricing here is not super transparent and also doesn't make much sense. For butter popcorn, it ranges between $4-11 with tax but for the cheese popcorn, it it ranges between $6-$13/$14 with tax. However, at Garrett's or other places there is no such price difference for popcorn flavors. The signs are also misleading because they put the price for butter on the left of the cash register near the main popcorn scooping area while the price signs for the cheese and caramel popcorn flavors are less conspicuous. I paid $11.30 for a medium cheese popcorn, which I thought was stale and didn't taste great. The service was also rude. No greeting and the cashier acted like I should tell him I'm ready instead of asking me whether I was ready. The exchange was uncomfortable and weird. The popcorn also was not great either. Very disappointed with my experience here.

Receipt for a stale bag of $22.24 popcorn!

This stale Glazed Pecan Nut popcorn experience was rather disappointing. At the Nuts On Clark kiosk, the Chicago O'Hare airport terminal 5 arrivals (lower ground level) area. So, two weeks prior at same exact location was a much better and a fresher product experience though. After pestering their corporate offices and phoning 773-549-6622, and several e-mails (orders@nutsonclark) to them, a same replacement was shipped to me. Moral of this story: Ask the employee for a small sample to try, prior to making any popcorn purchase.

I heard that Nuts in Clark was as good as Garrett's so I stopped by this location to see for myself. While I was there I noticed that they had a nice selection of candied nuts. Instead of purchasing more popcorn to compare the two stores I decided to buy their original Butter Toffee Honey Roasted Cashews and Pecans. They came in individual prepackaged bags and were delicious. I bought two bags of each and they disappeared quickly. The service provided was almost nonexistent. I received no greeting or offer to assist throughout my time there. What they lack in customer service they make up for in the quality of their products.

    Cheese and caramel mix. Yum!

I really enjoy the popcorn here. I typically dread flying through O'Hare but having enough time to stop and pick up a cheddar/caramel mix makes it all worth it. After landing I was pleasantly surprised that this kiosk was opened at 6:00AM. I requested the smallest bag of mix popcorn that they offered. When the cashier bagged up my popcorn and placed it in a large container and even larger shopping bag I thought maybe she misunderstood my request. To my surprise she handed me a really nice portion for a little less than $6.00. It's the airport and I'm used to inflation so I thought the price was fair. As I made it to my connecting gate, I opened the bag, then box, followed by the interior bag of popcorn and was immediately taken back to the last time I had these lovely kernels of goodness. If you're on the fence, try a small bag. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

Thank you, Nuts on Clark, for my DELICIOUS, perfectly salted popcorn. I would like to buy 5 lbs. of the cheddar/caramel mixture - maybe I will need room for other souvenirs in my carry-on. Maybe 10 oz. of the classic is sufficient. Thank you for the perfect location, right along the way to my connecting flight. I love popcorn. I love you, Nuts on Clark!

When you've had four glasses of cab, it's snowing and you're standing around hoping to board your flight back to LA... Yea! The dark chocolate almonds are a good choice!

    Bad ever Popcorn.

I love to fly through Chicago just to stop for their popcorn. Best ever! Always fresh, not oversalted, and great prices.

    Chinatown

When we were little, we always came to Chinatown for candies and toys. The neighborhood has changed…read moreover the years, but they are still a place to get our favorite rice candy, Botan. I think it used to be called Tomoe Ame, but it's the same as ever, though it used to come with a tiny plastic or even metal toy, and now it comes with a toy tattoo. The candy is a lightly-flavored set-jelly candy, much like a Turkish Delight, and the inner wrapper right next to the candy is rice-paper that melts in your mouth! I think we used to shop down Wentworth south of Cermak, and there are still authentic restaurants and all kinds of shops there. Nowadays we mostly head to the Chinatown Square open-air mall. This time we stopped in the Ichiban Candy & Snacks store. They have so many kinds of sweets, and yes, Botan Ame! They sell a trendy new ice cream bar, Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Flavor! Inside a fairly thick chocolate shell, the filling is like skinny long bright green sprinkles! It's fun and unusual. Even better, while we were there (Nov 2025), if you bought over $35 of candy, (we did :-), the friendly staff gave out a free ice cream bar as a sample! We all got to taste it. Pretty good! They have good old White Rabbit candy, like a white taffy roll. They have unusual "Chinese flavors" of Lay's Potato Chips we got Cucumber, Lime, Peking Duck, Five Spice, and Wasabi. They also have cans of formed potato chips like pringles. Other than the spicy flavors and the wasabi, none really have the flavor in the name, but they are all interesting, and every one we tried went well with beer :-). You can never go wrong with various flavors of Kit Kat. We like the original Pocky sticks and the chocolate-filled Hello Panda cookies. And there is a vast assortment of by-the-pound hard candies and chewy candies. We stop in now and then just to refill our candy dishes :-)

When we walked inside this place was packed with people. Tiktok has definitely put this place on…read morethe radar. You walk inside grab a basket at the door and walk around and shop. They charge by the weight so it can be a bit pricey on your bill. There are a wide variety of candies, chips, ice cream and other favorable of snacks. There were many unique and imported items throughout the store. There is a station in the back that makes a homemade Dubai treat. The prices are kind of high at this location. Compare to the other candy and snacks store around in that area. It was a cool and fun experience to see all the different types of snacks.
