I love coming to this Nutrishop! The owner Jack is friendly and knowledgeable of the products. I like going in to pick up some BCAA's because the flavors they carry are delicious! I'm all about their peach gummy, sour strawberry and now my new favorite passion fruit. They carry a variety of things so anything you need or working towards a goal, he has the supplements for it. There's also different snacks and candies as well. This place can be difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area as it is connected to a gym but I was familiar with the Kinders that is in the same complex. If you want to be intimidated, told you are wrong for not buying what the manager wants you to buy and when you tell him your reason for what you do and why you buy what you buy then to be belittled, this is the place for you. I was planning on spending about $150 when the manager...while I was paying TALKED himself into me not spending a dollar at this place ever again. Had he just shut his ego up and not let his high and mighty need to be right attitude up he would have made his store money. I live in alameda but stopped by this location since I was on my way home from Vallejo. Sadly, my go-to Nutrishop in Alameda closed down and I was in need of more protein powder and BCAA. This shop is located in a big shopping center, so traffic within and around the center was pretty bad on a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure it was because of all the holiday shoppers; at least I hope it's not like that every weekend. Luckily, I was the only one in the store so I got VIP treatment. Ben was very nice and willing to answer any questions but I already knew what I needed to stock up on so it was a quick visit. He knew it was a bit of a drive for me to get there so he put me on the "VIP list" so I could get 10% off non sale items on future visits. I just had THE most uncomfortable experience here. I came in with my boyfriend to do the BMI weigh in. I came here expecting it to be free because I came here once in the past and the girl working had no problem letting me do the test without making me feel like I needed to buy something. However, the guy I just encountered made me feel like he thought I was just some freeloader and if I wasn't going to buy anything than I was not allowed to do the BMI test. Just a poor interaction overall. I certainly wouldn't have come here if I had known that their policies regarding the test had changed and I wasn't trying to be a freeloader. I stopped by here today with my boyfriend literally just to look around, weren't really planning on buying anything. A young staff member politely asked if we were looking for anything in particular, & my boyfriend just politely said no it's all good, I'm just looking. I saw another yelper call him the d*ck head muscle guy (DHM) so from now on that's his nickname. So the DHM guy started asking my bf "do u take supplements" & my bf said no. & the DHM guy looked at him like my bf just committed a crime. You all know the term "All bodies are different". My boyfriend's body doesn't really rely on meds or particular supplements. He just takes a supplement for bones & immune system. Other than that, his body doesn't really feel the need to take a lot more. He's a pretty healthy guy & exercises regularly & eats very well. So like i said, all bodies are different, right? The muscle guy started to ask him a million questions pretty much trying to make my bf feel guilty for not taking particular supplements & literally kept looking at my bf like he's stupid. My bf goes "I'm young right now, i don't really need very many of that stuff" (because he does take really good care of his health & tries not to rely too much on those things) & the DHM guy goes, "yeah? How old are u?" My bf says 24. DHM guy points at his coworker & says to my bf "this guy is 18...." obviously now he's really trying to make my bf LOOK & FEEL stupid. & my bf told him once again "thanks man but I'm just looking" & the DHM guy started bragging "are u sure dude, i mean i know supplements like the back of my hand". Like okay that's nice, we didn't ask???? We're just looking so please leave us alone now. If we need his help, we would freakin ask. But then again he goes "are u sure?? I mean if u don't want to talk to me, that's completely fine!", okay now at this point, this guy is just becoming aggressive in a way. I have been coming here for half a year now. My first time showing up it was really busy I waited maybe 5-7 minutes but it was fine because I was looking around. I was acknowledged and told they would be right with me. I went in looking for vegan protein and was able to get a sample. I also got my weight and fat measured using their machine which is as accurate as it gets! I was also informed of their challenge and they were not pushy at all. I called today earlier to ask about the 4th of July sale to see if it was still being offered during the weekend and the person that answered the phone said no it was just for 4th of July but said if I checked in yelp and also Facebook then they provide a discount. Sweet so I went in and got my protein and got my discounts!! Jack is friendly and attentive. I used to drive all the way to Alameda from Concord and now this Nutrishop is just down the street from me! Plus is right off the freeway in such convenient location! By the way I read reviews here in yelp on nutrishop and I have had nothing but a great experience here and will continue to shop. Finally walked in this place and grabbed some quest bars and a drink. Just your basic supplement store. They've got everything you'd ever need. Pre, intra, post workouts. Protein, meal replacements, bars, drinks etc. They carry big name brands and smaller brands, even some local brands. They have a nice little apparel section as well. The guy at the counter seemed like he was probably the owner and was super nice and personable. And not pushy like GNC who use pseudo science and compete bs to try to sell you products. My experience today was exactly why I don't like coming into nutrishop. The experience was completely demeaning. I'm trying to get my health and fitness back to where I'm happy, therefore I'm not the most fit right now -- but that doesn't mean I'm not knowledgeable. He clearly had a biased option on BPI. When I kept asking "what's wrong with bpi" he said he shrugged his shoulders and said "what's right with BPI?" -- as if that's an actual answer. I proceeded to ask again cause maybe there's something about BPI that I don't know, but he pushed me away as if it was a disgrace for coming in asking for a bpi product. This guy portrayed exactly what a "meat head" is and why a lot of people are turned away from getting their health and fitness right. So if I could give negative stars, I would give many. read more

I had been at school and did not have the time to check this place out until last month. When I first came in Jack (owner) greeted me with a smile! Really a gentle giant haha. Anyway, I just came in to check it out, really nice guy and knowledgeable about the supplements they carry. I ended up just getting a couple quest bars and go there frequently for some p28 and quest bars for 24$ a box. He also gave me a free sample of the preworkout stack which is his favorite. It's well spaced, clean, and while you can walk into any GNC and be followed around by the staff who can't WAIT to give you the latest broscience advice (do they even lift, bro?) this shop is run by a man who clearly knows his business. First of all I have to say, that Jack is totally bad ass and the staff here are really awesome people! They don't push products on you that you are not remotely interested in buying, they ask you right away what your needs are for your health and base their assessment on what your goals are. As a boxer, I love that I can walk into Nutrishop without being hassled or bugged while shopping. This isn't a bullshit GNC or any other supplement/vitamin store where the folks working there aren't knowledgeable or look unhealthy. I haven't been to any Nutrishop store since I usually order from online, however, I was doing a research on some weightloss/metabolism booster supplements and one supplement seems to have an excellent review across the board but it is only carried by Nutrishop stores. It's called THERMOVEX. My buddy uses this too and swears by it so I decided to give it a try. Before I came in, I called ahead to see if they had a promotion but the guy on the phone, Jack(who I learned after was also the owner), told me that there's no current promotion on that product but he said he'll work out a deal. So I went to his store and he greeted me himself. Let me tell you that the store is super clean, well-stacked, well-lighted and has a nice layout. It's like Nordstroms for supplements lol.. Jack made me feel at home quite early and when he learned that I haven't taken the supplement, he got his most popular flavor which is green apple and let me try it. He even gave me the shaker bottle afterwards! I bought two tubs and as agreed he gave me a pretty good discount! I live in Pleasanton and will probably go to the Dublin Nutrishop if I ran out but if I'm in the area of Concord-Walnut Creek-Pleasant Hill, I would buy here again in a heartbeat. As one who enjoys working out and using clean supplements, I got all excited when I heard that a Nutrishop just opened up in Pleasant Hill. I've never been to one, but 2 people told me that they really enjoy going there as opposed to a GNC. And that you can only find certain supplements at Nutrishops. What I was told was all true. I really enjoyed my visit. Jack was very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. He let me, and a couple of other customers, try the chocolate Pro7ein Synthesis and fruit punch flavored Forzaone BCAA. Having only stuck to the chocolate flavor, I was quite surprised on the taste. I was even more surprised on how well these powders mixed with water. Everything they sell there is really clean and without, if any, a lot of fillers. The first time I came here, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the service was. The salesman , Ron, was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of info for me. Despite this, I continued to buy my supplements from online websites since simply the prices here are too high. I can find all of their nonexclusive products for close to 50% cheaper online.
