Let me start off by saying two things. One, I'm a very picky, OCD person and I knew exactly what I wanted coming in. Two, this was the fourth or fifth stop on my quest to find a replacement for the pipe I had accidentally destroyed early this day. I wish I got the guys name who works at the shop, dude was a super cool, knowledgable and patient guy. Showed me some pieces from a trade show! This is a bonus as most shop owners/employees don't venture out and look for glassware that's unique, durable and beautiful. He also gave me some of his thoughts on a few pieces I had not considered, mind you he was well aware of what I was looking for as I had shown him a picture of my previous piece and told him a list of "must haves". I've ventured into many smokeshops, and this one is nestled in a nice little corner of Martinez and offers better quality and more affordable pieces than MANY of the more well known shops in the area and in the Bay Area in general. I didn't look at the water pipes, except for a small corner of some gorgeous pieces (colors were epic), but I'm excited for my next trip here to see what specialties lie in store!! read more

This was my first time at this smoke shop (any smoke shop for that matter). I had read the reviews for this place a d decides to check it out. This place is the far corner of a small shopping plaza, so plenty of parking. There were 2 guys just leaving as I was walking in. The guy who was working there greeted me and I told him what I was looking for. He was quick to answer the question and show me what he had. He asked me what size and showed me what had. I was sort of felt like I was pressured to pick one which was annoying. He showed me one for $20 that I initially liked. Then I asked to see an other item which was $50 and more for what I was looking for. It was between those two, and I choose the 2nd item. He said alright and went to another room of selection stuff. He carefully wrapped the item in bubble wrap and walked me back the register. $54 was the total - not bad - happy with the price and the product. 3 stars for the selection and for the quality of the items there. 1 star missing for thier website not working & not being able to order online. Last star missing for the lack of customer service - wasn't bad but it could have been better. Open 7 days a week! read more

I've been to this store around 3 or 4 times. I've never been impressed with their merchandise. They have a lot of glass, but seems overpriced. Their customer service has never been what I call great. Occ you might find someone who knows what they're talking about, & is actually willing to talk to you. (Thus the 1 star) But more often than not, they either don't have a clue as to what I'm looking for, or they just don't give a sh**. Odd way to run a business. They don't have much in the way of accessories. I went in for a simple clip to attach an ash catcher to a bong. Pretty standard. The guy there hadn't a clue as to what I was talking about. He had to call someone on the phone, then comes back to say they didn't have the size I wanted. All this without showing me a single clip!! (And unless they were hidden, they didn't have any). Then when I asked about some bowls for a bong, he just ignored me!!!! Too bad cause this is closest shop to me, but not worth wasting my time with. :-( read more

Watch out for the signs that say " no refunds, no exchanges". That means that the creep behind the counter can sell you a defective vape pen, for instance, and it's just too bad for you. Less than a month ago, I decided to step up and buy a good e-cig, so I went in to double header and the girl behind the counter showed me some and I bought a nice $100 complete unit. Since then I've stopped in a bunch and bought other stuff. Yesterday, the thing stopped charging so I tried another charger, still wouldn't charge, so I brought it in and the same girl said the fluid must have leaked into the battery and ruined it. I showed her the tank and of course it wasn't leaking as that was one of the selling points when she sold it to me. She said that she wasn't going to do anything for me and gave me the owners phone number and I called and explained the situation. He told me that he wouldn't do anything for me and after I told him that that was bull@#$*t, he called me a cheap-ass and said he would find out who I was and he was going to send the cops to my house. I didn't want anything that I didn't deserve and I didn't try to pull a fast one. When I bought it, the girl told me that it would last 5000 charges and it didn't last 30. Its probably a cheap ass knock-off Chinese piece of crap sold as a genuine Aspire box. I should have stayed with going to the other place as they stand behind their stuff but double header was in my hood so I thought that I would keep my money in my town.... bad decision... don't go here, don't say I didn't warn you. read more

I've been to the Doubleheader a few times now since moving to the area. Things are very different here than where I came from, and the gentleman at the Doubleheader, Ryan, was super knowledgeable and was able to explain in detail things I had no experience with. He has opened a package for me to get a piece I needed for my vape pen so he could charge me LESS. The room in the back is full of really nice glass with prices clearly marked and displayed in a way where you don't have to be terrified if you're a giant klutz like I am. Both Ryan and another person who helped me once are always very relaxed, focused on customer service, and happy to give recommendations from their personal experience. Honestly, if I wanted something particular, I would probably see if DH could order it rather than buying online just to support the business.
