Service was really great The location is not in my town but well worth going there. I am sorry I can't remember the proprietor's name, but he was awesome. I called him ahead of time to make sure they had what my doctor recommended. He gave me good directions and said to call him if I couldn't figure out where the store was when I got there. When I got there, he immediately handed me the supplement I was looking for. I was pleased to give my business to such a well-run store. read more

The shop is clean and bright and the service is friendly. However, I paid $49 for a supplement that I found was only $26 on Amazon for the exact same item and brand. I don't mind paying a little bit extra to support a small business effort, but this markup was really way too much. Unfortunately I will not be going back. read more

Excellent service and the sales person helped me find what I needed. good ambiance found the product I needed

you know what; the internet is killing in house businesses. I've known this business for 20 years and due to the internet and possibly other ventures the store front itself is disintegrating... they are still knowledgeable but the owner is never present anymore. . read more

This is one of those neighborhood gems you should favorite whenever you need to pick up some high-quality supplements, quality-tested vitamins, natural foods, probiotics, and gluten-free products. Brian and his staff are awesome, incredibly kind and always offer assistance when I walk in the door. Brian also runs a great rewards program that seems to pay with each and every visit I make. I appreciate his high-quality offering, I appreciate his exceptional level of service, and I appreciate his big heart. Thank you Brian and staff! read more

Brian and Jacob were in the store when I walked in. This was my first time here and I am very impressed with the wide selection available. This place has every supplement and vitamin you can think of. Brian and Jacob showed me their selection of BCAA's. I was able to narrow it down to one choice after a while. Brian also hooked me up with some free samples of BCAA's he got from other manufacturers. The prices here are great. I can never go back to a GNC after this place. Once I run out of my BCAA, I will be back to try something new. Great people and a great selection. AND it's super close to Round 1. So you can go game it up and then come here for some supplements. read more

I come here when I'm seeking some odd herb and want to support a small, local business over Amazon. I am definitely never coming back because of the customer service of one particular employee. I've been told that Alex (I believe the owner) is fabulous, but both times I have come to this store, some other guy was the only attendant in the store and he is NOT helpful. Again, I came in looking for ANY guidance on how to select a particular supplement (this time, a liver complex). All he did was point me in the direction of one and said "I don't know much about the ingredients, but this is pretty good." How are you going to work in a boutique natural food store and not know anything about any of the products? On top of that, I overheard him tell another customer that she gets 10% off her items because it was her first time in the store. The first time I went to the store, I told the SAME GUY it was my first time there (hence why I needed advice) and he said NOTHING about a discount. When I told him this when it was my turn to check-out, he said "okay I'll apply the discount" but did not give me any sort of apology or acknowledge he should have given it to me before. Because of my two lukewarm/negative experiences with this attendant, I will not be returning. If Alex is the owner and delivers a certain level of customer service, he should ensure to hire other employees who at least partially deliver a similar level of customer service. read more

Fabulous experience all around. I came in with the deer-in-the-headlight look, not knowing where to start. I needed a metabolic booster for my daily workouts, but I had no clue where to start. Should I focus on weight loss, dietary supplements, recovery drinks? All of them? Totally clueless. Alexey, the store owner helped me right away, asking questions and making recommendations. I was surprised at how knowledgeable he is with all of his in store products and educating me about each of the supplements, how they worked, and what the benefits were. In the end, I got a really great deal. Natural Life Foods price match & a website for you to shop at home. The store also offers variety of gluten free products, cereal, tea, ice cream, chips, granola bars, chocolates, and MORE.... (hair products, skin care, homeopathic, etc....) list goes on and on... you must visit the store and experience it for yourself. read more

Today I came here to replenish my prenatal / postnatal vitamins (I usually go to Harvest House or Sprouts). I have to say that I like this shop waaayy better!! It's smaller and more concise, and therefore easier to navigate. The man I spoke with really knew his stuff, and exactly where to find it. Everything from my prenatals to powdered vitamin C (Emergen-C) as well as homeopathic infant teething tablets... he expertly guided me to each item and explained the benefits, best brand, differences between them, etc. Perfect little shop :) read more

Alex and Bryan are well educated on all of their products. They will go well above and beyond any other store to find and/or order the product you need. I'm so happy to have finally found this place after living in Martinez for almost a year and always traveling over the bridge to another natural store. I am highly allergic to chemicals found in hygiene and cleansing products. This store has literally everything I need in one stop and for a decent price too. Plus it's so close to home. Doesn't get any better read more

I've been shopping here for almost 5 years now. Count on Alex to answer your questions and help you the best he can. They were a part of my journey in health in good times and bad. I can type a whole story, but if you want to shop at a place that actually knows their stuff. This is the place. They work with athletes too! Last time I came in, I bought a care package for a rock climbing buddy that was recovering from surgery. read more

I've driven by this place more times than I can count and have always said I should stop in and give it a look. Well I was looking for local retailer for a specific brand of sports nutrition products and well Natural Life was listed as a retailer on the manufacturers website. I stopped in on a weeknight near their closing time and they were fairly busy for the single staff person. I roamed about and took a look at all they carried. I found what I was looking for, but the selection was less than I'd hoped. I picked up a few things and as I was in line I asked the employee if this was all the carried of the brand I was after. He stated that they just started carrying it and said he could get what ever I wanted. Perfect I asked for what I was looking for and he said he'd get me samples of some other products I was interested in. This to me was the extra mile I love to see in local businesses. I recently picked up what I asked to have ordered and received a bundle of samples as well. So I'll be going back again soon for some of the items I've sampled. read more

So I have fallen on hard times and as a consequence stress has taken its toll on my body thus needing probiotics and other natural supplements to keep me running. Since I am tight on money, I was finding a place that offered great selection, was reasonably priced, and had knowledgeable staff. Enter Alex, the owner... Alex had me at "What price DO YOU WANT TO PAY" when I asked him how much a certain product was. Alex's store is the human Amazon (the vitamin/natural food section of Amazon). His store is the brick and mortar version of Vitacost.com. In short, his store is absolutely incredibe. It is literally beyond me why he doesn't put GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, and Vitamin Adventure out of business. He has a massive inventory of anything you could possibly think of and if for the weird chance he doesn't he'll order it for you. He's incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic, and an overall stellar human being. He will price match ANYONE without any problem. He is truly genuine and cares for his customer's well being which I find awesome. I highly recommend Natural Life Foods to anyone! The customer serice is UNBEATABLE and Alex (and this staff) are just pleasant to interact with. I really hope more people discover this gem in Pleasant Hill because I drive from Fairfield and I find it so worth it! read more

I moved to the area from Orange County two years ago. In the OC, there is a small, local chain of health food stores called Mother's Market. I went to Mother's all the time and loved it. NLF is like a mini version of Mother's. They have a great selection of teas, supplements, cosmetics, and frozen foods. They even carry my favorite vegan cookies from southern california. Props to the 20% discount. I like this place and will come back. read more

My husband and I drove from Sacramento to Natural Life Foods. I am an avid Sprouts and Whole Foods shopper and was here for a specific item. First, we got lost and the staff, two really nice guys, helped me by checking for the item and then my husband get to the store when we got lost. The plan was to run in and run out. Not possible! This place is way more awesome and amazing than Sprout's and Whole Foods combined! Totally going to find a reason to make the drive back here as often as possible!!! PS the prices are better also! read more
